Abstract

Limbah feses sapi dan jerami padi merupakan sumber limbah organik yang sering diabaikan dan berpotensi mencemari lingkungan jika tidak dikelola dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi daya adaptasi cacing tanah Eisenia foetida terhadap media budidaya campuran feses sapi dan jerami padi, dengan fokus pada parameter pH media, kelembaban, dan suhu ruangan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimen deskriptif kuantitatif selama 30 hari di Laboratorium Biologi Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E. foetida mengalami tingkat kematian yang tinggi pada awal adaptasi, dengan angka kematian mencapai 100% pada hari pertama hingga kelima. Namun, cacing mulai menunjukkan adaptasi optimal pada hari kesepuluh, dengan tingkat kematian 0% hingga hari ketiga puluh. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa media campuran feses sapi dan jerami padi memerlukan masa fermentasi sekitar 10 hari agar sesuai untuk budidaya E. foetida. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pengelolaan fermentasi media untuk memastikan adaptasi optimal cacing, yang pada gilirannya dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dalam pengolahan limbah organik dan produksi vermikompos yang berkualitas tinggi. Adaptability of Earthworms (Eisenia foetida) to a Mixed Cultivation Medium of Cow Manure and Rice Straw Abstract Cow manure and rice straw are organic waste sources that are often neglected and have the potential to pollute the environment if not properly managed. This study aims to evaluate the adaptability of Eisenia foetida earthworms to a mixed cultivation medium of cow manure and rice straw, focusing on parameters such as pH, moisture, and room temperature. The research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive experimental method over 30 days at the Biology Laboratory of Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika. The results showed that E. foetida experienced a high mortality rate during the initial adaptation phase, with mortality reaching 100% from the first to the fifth day. However, the earthworms began to show optimal adaptation by the tenth day, with a 0% mortality rate through the thirtieth day. Based on these findings, it is concluded that a fermentation period of around 10 days is necessary for the cow manure and rice straw mixture to be suitable for E. foetida cultivation. The study recommends careful management of media fermentation to ensure optimal worm adaptation, which in turn can enhance the effectiveness of organic waste processing and the production of high-quality vermicompost.

Abstract

This review systematically examines the role of curiosity in science learning, focusing on its influence on engagement, cognitive processes, and educational outcomes. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using databases such as Scopus, resulting in the selection of 40 peer-reviewed empirical studies published between 2019 and 2024. Inclusion and exclusion criteria ensured the relevance and rigor of the selected studies. The findings reveal that curiosity significantly enhances memory encoding and consolidation, motivates learners, and supports exploratory behavior. Specifically, studies indicated that curiosity-driven learning leads to improved attention and learning processes, resulting in better educational outcomes. Pedagogical strategies that foster curiosity, including the integration of large language models and innovative teaching tools, have been shown to effectively enhance student engagement and learning in science. Quantitative data from the reviewed studies demonstrate that curiosity-driven approaches lead to a 25% increase in student engagement and a 30% improvement in learning outcomes. The review underscores the importance of systematically integrating curiosity-enhancing strategies within pedagogy to create more engaging and effective educational experiences. Future research should focus on developing comprehensive measurement tools for assessing curiosity and conducting longitudinal studies to explore its long-term impact on academic achievement and skill development. Additionally, the exploration of modern technologies in enhancing curiosity-driven learning should be prioritized. Educators are encouraged to implement pedagogical strategies that stimulate curiosity to maintain and enhance student engagement and achievement in science learning.

Abstract

Currently, Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) are a learning approach that is widely used by educators, not only helping students to understand a topic but also improving students' scientific literacy skills, such as critical thinking, argumentation skills, and decision-making. Various studies related to SSI have been published but cannot provide specific recommendations for future SSI studies. Therefore, a research systematic review of literature related to SSI was carried out to identify and determine research trends related to SSI as a basis for conducting further SSI studies. In conducting this literature review, we collected SSI-related information from the Google Scholar publication database using socio-scientific issues as search keywords. In collecting and selecting it using PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis), 155 articles were found that met the predetermined criteria for further analysis using Vosviewer. From the results of the analysis that has been done, decision-making is an item that has been studied a lot related to SSI. Thus, this item (decision-making) is recommended for further study.

Abstract

Kehalalan dari suatu produk kuliner sangat dibutuhkan demi kenyamanan konsumen, disamping juga dapat meningkatkan nilai jualnya. Aspek lain yang paling utama yaitu keamanannya yang harus terjamin. Salah satu kuliner khas Pulau Lombok yang kerap dicari oleh wisatawan yaitu Bebalung. Sebagai makanan berkuah dan berbahan dasar daging sapi, bebalung memiliki kerentanan terhadap kehalalan dan keamanan. Kajian terkait aspek kehalalan dan keamanan dari bebalung dilakukan melalui metode telusur halal dan HACCP. Titik kritis halal bebalung terletak pada proses penyembelihan sapi yang harus sesuai syariat Islam. Adapun aspek keamanannya terdapat pada daging sapi dengan resiko bahaya tinggi berupa cemaran mikrobiologi, cemaran kimia melalui kontaminasi BPA, obat pertanian, dan nitrit berlebih; air yang digunakan dengan resiko sedang berupa bahaya mikrobiologi dan logam berat; dan bahan pelengkap berupa daun asam jawa, garam dapur dan lengkuas denagn resiko rendah. Bebalung Lombok sebagai bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari industri kuliner dan pariwisata perlu dilakukan sertifikasi kehalalan dan jaminan keamanan pangan melalui sistem HACCP.

Abstract

The integration of Sasak local wisdom into science education, particularly in biology, physics, and chemistry, offers a contextual and meaningful learning experience for students. This study explores the potential of Sasak cultural practices such as Belaq Tangkel, Poteng Rekat, Bau Nyale, and Nyesek to enrich science education. These traditions are linked to scientific concepts, including human reproduction, biodiversity, material physics, and chemical bonding. The research adopts a literature review approach to identify and map the educational potential of Sasak traditions, focusing on their relevance to scientific learning. For instance, Belaq Tangkel introduces students to embryonic development, while Kalender Rowot Sasak supports teaching astronomy. The integration of these practices promotes sustainability values, analytical skills, and cultural appreciation among students. Challenges such as limited resources and teacher training highlight the need for collaboration between educators, local communities, and researchers. This approach not only fosters cultural preservation but also enhances students’ scientific understanding, providing a holistic and sustainable educational framework. The findings underline the importance of ethnoscience in bridging traditional knowledge and modern science to create an inclusive and culturally responsive education system.

Abstract

Hidayaturrahman Islamic Boarding School NW Manggala organizes formal education at the junior high and high school levels. After graduating as santri who continue to tertiary education and some who quit education and work to help parents. Therefore, the provision of skills is needed capital to be independent. The provision of learning skills obtained at school is completed at a minimum because the teacher (teacher) does not have an entrepreneurial background. This dedication is done with the aim that the students have the ability in the cultivation of oyster mushrooms. The method used in this activity is the diffusion method of science and technology. With work procedures, namely 1) planning, 2) action, 3) mentoring, 4) evaluation. The result of this activity is that this service activity is able to improve the skills of students in the cultivation of oyster mushrooms, increase the interest and motivation of students in terms of entrepreneurship.

Abstract

Kurangnya pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan Reference Managemenet Software (RMS) Zotero menjadi kendala dalam menyusun sumber pustaka yang sistematis dan presisi. Pengabdian Kemitraan Masyrakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dna keterampilan mahasiswa pendidikan biologi menggunakan Reference Managemenet Software (RMS) Zotero dalam pengelolaan sumber rujukan. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa semester enam program studi pendidikan biologi Universtas Pendidikan Mandalika, jumlah mitra yang terlibat 6 orang mahasiswa. Metode pelaksanaan adalah knowledge transfer dan Model Community development  dengan tahapan kegiatan; 1) plan, 2) implementation, dan 3) evaluation. Setelah kegitan dilaksanakan terdapat peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra dalam memanfaatkan  Reference Managemenet Software (RMS) Zotero dalam pengelolaan sumber rujukan. Keterampilan menggunakan RMS Zotero penting untuk dimiliki oleh mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh matakuliah tugas akhir, sehingga materi tetang RMS Zotero ini perlu menjadi salah satu  pokok bahasan dalam mata kuliah teknik penulisan artikel ilmiah. Zotero Reference Management Software (RMS) training in managing Research Reference Sources for Biology Education Students The lack of students' understanding and skills in using Zotero's Reference Management Software (RMS) becomes an obstacle to compiling systematic and precise library sources. This Community Partnership Service aims to improve the understanding and skills of biology education students using Zotero's Reference Management Software (RMS) in managing referral sources. Partners in this activity are sixth-semester students of the Biology education study program at the Mandalika Education University, the number of partners involved is 6 students. The implementation method is a knowledge transfer and Community development model with activity stages; 1) plan, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. After the activity was carried out there was an increase in partners' understanding and skills in utilizing Zotero's Reference Management Software (RMS) in managing referral sources. The skill of using RMS Zotero is important for students who are taking final project courses, so this material about RMS Zotero needs to be one of the topics in the technical article writing engineering course.

Abstract

Program  Kemitraam Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk pembinaan masyarakat dalam gerakan pilah dan olah sampah organic rumah tangga menajadi produk multi fungsi. Mitra kegitan PKM adalah Waraga Rukun Tetangga (RT) 06 Perumahan Lingkar Permai dengan jumlah warga yang terlibat 10 orang. Pelaksanaan PKM pengabdian  menggunakan pendekatan Participatory  Rapid  Appraisal (PRA) dengan  tahapan  kegiatan,  yaitu 1) perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, dan  3) evaluasi. Kegitan PKM telah meberikan dampak positif pada peningkatan pemahaman, keterampilan,  dan kesadaran masyarakat dalam pemilahan dan pengolahan sampah organic menjadi berbagai macam produk yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat untuk kebutuhan Rumah Tangga. Kegitan pendampingan masih perlu dilakukan secara kontinu agar mitra dan masyarakat sekitar mitra dapat memahami secara utuh tentang pilah dan pengolahan sampah organic. Sort And Process Household Organic Waste By Modifying It Into Multi-Functional Products  The Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to develop the community in sorting and processing household organic waste into multi-functional products. PKM's activity partner is Waraga Rukun Tetangga (RT) 06 Lingkar Permai Housing with 20 residents involved. The implementation of community service PKM uses the Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) approach with the stages of activities, namely 1) planning, 2) implementation, and 3) evaluation. PKM activities have had a positive impact on increasing public understanding, skills and awareness in sorting and processing organic waste into various kinds of products that can be used by the community for household needs. Assistance activities still need to be carried out continuously so that partners and the community around partners can fully understand the sorting and processing of organic waste

Abstract

Tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan mahasiswa mengenai penggunaan Aplikasi Zotero dalam penulisan proposal Pekan Kreativitas Mahasiswa masih sangat rendah. Bahkan, masih banyak mahasiswa yang belum mengenal aplikasi Zotero. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari Program Kemitraan Masyarakat adalah memberikan pelatihan manajemen referensi dan sitasi yang efektif serta efisien menggunakan aplikasi Zotero. Hal ini bertujuan agar mahasiswa dapat mengumpulkan, mengelola, dan memasukkan referensi dengan benar dan konsisten ke dalam proposal riset. Kegiatan ini melibatkan 10 orang mahasiswa dari program studi Pendidikan Biologi, Kimia, Fisika, dan Matematika. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode transfer iptek dan Model Community Development, yang meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mencapai indikator tujuan adalah soal tes kemampuan awal dan akhir, observasi keterampilan menggunakan Zotero, serta angket respon. Hasil kegiatan secara umum dilihat dari tiga indikator yangkni; 1) Tingkat pemahaman sebelum pemberian materi mencapai rata-rata 42 dengan kategori rendah. Setelah pemberian materi, rata-rata mencapai 96 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Rata-rata peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 54%. 2) Keterampilan menggunakan Zotero. Pada indictor ini dikatagorikan sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 92, dan 3) Respon terhadap kegiatan pelatihan. secara umum mahasiswa merespon dengan sangat baik.  Berdasarkan ketiga indikator ini maka pelaksanaan PKM dapat dinyatakan berhasil. Reference and Citation Management Training Using the Zotero Application for Exact Research Proposal Writing in the Student Creativity Program Students' awareness and abilities about the usage of the Zotero Application in submitting Student Creativity Week proposals remain extremely poor. In fact, many students are still unfamiliar with the Zotero application. As a result, the Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to deliver effective and efficient reference and citation management training through the use of the Zotero program. This is done so that students can appropriately and consistently gather, manage, and enter references into research projects. Ten students from the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics Education departments participated in this project. The science and technology transfer technique and the Community Development Model, which comprises the stages of planning, are used to carry out this community service. Implementation, as well as assessment. Initial and end ability test questions, skill observation utilizing Zotero, and answer surveys were employed to produce the objective indicators. The three indicators show the outcomes of activities in general: 1) The degree of knowledge before presenting the information reaches an average of 42 in the poor category. Following the presentation of the content, the average reached 96, with a very high category. The average gain in comprehension is 54%. 2) Zotero proficiency. This indicator is rated as extremely good, with a score of 92 on average, and 3) Responses to training activities. In general, students performed admirably. PKM deployment can be deemed effective based on these three factors.

Abstract

The goal of the PKM activity is to enhance the quality of learning through intensive training in the creation of teaching modules that integrate the concepts of PBL with the application of TPACK. This reflects the urgency of the teacher's role in adapting the learning approach to the current developments and preparing students to face future challenges. Focusing on the improvement of learning quality provides insights into the importance of integrating PBL and TPACK in innovative and relevant modern learning. The implementation method involves knowledge transfer and the Community Development Model through synchronous and asynchronous online activities. The partners in this activity are students of the PPG Daljab Biology Class of 2023 from the Mandalika University of Education. The activity is carried out for a total of 3 meetings. The results of the activity show that the partners' participation is very active, and there is a significant impact of the training on the partners' understanding of the PBL model and the TPACK approach, as well as their integration into teaching modules
