Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between online game addiction and emotional changes among school-age children at UPT SDN Garuda Makassar. The phenomenon of increasing gadget and online game use among children has become a major concern because it can affect their emotional and social aspects. This research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational design and a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all fifth- and sixth-grade students totaling 37 respondents, with 34 students meeting the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed statistically using a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that most respondents experienced online game addiction (18 students or 52.9%) and emotional changes (18 students or 52.9%). Based on the bivariate test results, a p-value of 0.007 (p < 0.05) was obtained, indicating a significant relationship between online game addiction and emotional changes among school-age children.

Abstract

College students often face academic and social demands that can trigger social anxiety, making emotion regulation an essential component of their psychological well-being. This study aims to describe students’ experiences in regulating their emotions when dealing with social anxiety, identify the strategies they use, and analyze the factors influencing their emotional regulation processes. This research employed a qualitative phenomenological approach with three participants selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that students frequently use emotion regulation strategies such as avoidance, emotional suppression, and cognitive reappraisal, influenced by previous social experiences, environmental support, and emotional self-efficacy. The study concludes that social anxiety shapes a complex dynamic of emotional regulation, where students often struggle between expressing their emotions and avoiding negative evaluation. The novelty of this study lies in its in-depth exploration of students’ subjective emotional experiences, which remains underexplored in previous quantitative research. The implications highlight the need for culturally sensitive and context-based campus interventions to help students develop more adaptive emotion regulation strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of achievement motivation and communication intelligence on school management effectiveness, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach with a causal survey design was employed. The population consisted of all public senior high school teachers in Jambi City, Indonesia, with a sample of 55 teachers selected using probability sampling techniques. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including multiple regression analysis and F-tests, with SPSS version 25. The findings indicate that achievement motivation has a positive and significant effect on school management effectiveness. Similarly, communication intelligence also shows a positive and significant effect on school management effectiveness. Furthermore, achievement motivation and communication intelligence simultaneously exert a highly significant influence on school management effectiveness. These results suggest that enhancing school management effectiveness requires strengthening teachers’ achievement motivation alongside the systematic development of communication intelligence. Such efforts are essential to support more effective, transparent, and accountable school management practices.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine  of secondary metabolite compounds in the ethanol extract of keji beling leaves (Strobilanthes crispa (L.). Keji beling leaves are known to possess pharmacological effects such as antioxidant, antibacterial, and anticancer. These pharmacological effects are due to the presence of secondary metabolites. This study aims to investigate the secondary metabolite compounds contained in keji beling (S. crispa). Fresh keji beling leaves were dried, ground into powder, and extracted using 70% ethanol solvent using the Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (UAE) method. Phytochemical screening was carried out by adding reagents specific for secondary metabolites. The test results showed that the ethanol extract of keji beling leaves contained positive flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, while the terpenoid test showed negative results. The presence of these metabolites indicates that keji beling leaves have the potential as a source of bioactive compounds and can be developed into raw materials for herbal medicine preparations.

Abstract

Garlic (Allium sativumL.) is a horticultural commodity with high economic value in Indonesia. For optimal growth and yield, garlic plants require macronutrients and micronutrients from fertilization. Micronutrients can be met, for example, by providing organic liquid fertilizer. This study aims to determine the effect of Supermes Liquid Fertilizer dosage application on garlic plant growth. The garlic varieties planted are local varieties using a 1-factor Randomized Block Design with 6 fertilizer dosage treatments: 1) 0 ml/L; 2) 1 ml/L; 3) 2 ml/L; 4) 3 ml/L; 5) 4 ml/L and 6) 5 ml/L. Supermes liquid organic fertilizer. Each treatment was repeated three times: Garlic Response to Supermes Liquid Fertilizer, therefore, there were 18 treatment trials. The results of the Supermes POC fertilizer dosage application did not show significant differences in plant height and number of leaves. However, there was a significant increase in the number of leaves and plant height at each increase in fertilizer dosage. Further research on the application of Supermes POC dosage with various higher concentrations is needed to obtain superior results.

Abstract

High-calorie foods can cause obesity if consumed in excess. Obesity occurs due to excessive fat accumulation in the body. Excess weight is a major risk factor for secondary disorders in pets, such as diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus occurs due to high blood glucose levels. Mango leaf extract contains bioactive compounds that can lower and normalise blood glucose levels and can be used as a supplement. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mango leaf extract supplementation induced by a high-fat diet on blood glucose levels. This study used arumanis and golek mango leaf. The methods used were extraction and in vivo testing. Extraction was performed on mango leaf, and the extraction results were administered to test animals in vivo. The phytochemical results showed that arumanis and golek mango leaf contain flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, and saponins. The results showed that arumanis mango leaf extract was more effective in lowering blood glucose levels than golek mango leaf extract. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of knowledge about supplements and drug substitutes, as well as to identify more practical methods for drug therapy for diabetes mellitus in pets.

(3) To analyze the learning model of discovery learning assisted by Canva media that influences the activities and learning outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a Nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all class V of MIN 1 Makassar City with each class V student totaling 100 students. The random sampling technique was used to determine the research sample by drawing lots, so that class VA with 25 students was the experimental class and class VC with 25 students was the control class. The data obtained were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, then continued with hypothesis testing using the t-test and MANOVA test. The results of the study showed that; (i) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the learning activities of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The t-test results show that the significance value (Sig = 0.000) is smaller than the specified alpha value of 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). (2) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The t-test results show that the significance value (Sig = 0.002) is smaller than the specified alpha value of 0.05 (0.002 < 0.05). (3) The discovery learning learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the science learning activities and outcomes of class V students of MIN 1 Makassar City. The results of One-way Multivariate Analysis of Variance (One-way MANOVA) show that all statistics have a very significant value with a p-value (Sig.) = .000. This indicates that the intercept significantly influences the dependent variable. It can be concluded that the discovery learning model assisted by Canva media has a significant effect on the activities and science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at MIN 1 Makassar City.
