Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the use of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type cooperative leaning model in reducing student’s  misconception on irregularly moving straight material in SMA Negeri 1 Paloh. The form of research used was pre-experimantal design with on group pretest-postest design. The study used a satuated sample of class X IPA which consists of 34 student’s. The result of study obtained a decrease in the percentage of students who misconceptions each concept with an average of 66% and a decrease in the percentage of the number of misconceptions per students with an average 61,6%. Based on the distribution of the number of students who experience misconceptions during the pretest and postest an average difference of 39,14%. The results of Mc Nemar significance test on df = 1 and α= 5% showed > , were equal to 92,25 > 3,84. There was a conceptual change on the students significantly. The Decreasing Quantity Students that Misconception (DQM) Numbered Heads Together model in remediating misconception were 39,44% (medium category). The results of this research were expected to be used as the development material of Numbered Heads Together in remediation learning about the irregularly moving straight material. Keywords: Misconseption, Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type cooperative leaning model, remediation

Abstract

AbstractAn objective of this study was to investigate the effect of multiple representations approach in learning physics to the cognitive skills of students at SMA Negeri 1 Anjongan on momentum and impuls. The form of research used quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. The saturation sampling technique was used to investigate the sample. The sample was two classes with one class as an experimental class and one class as a control class. This study used 5 question essays as an instrument to measure students’cognitive skills in the pretest-posttest while responses of student about multiple representations are used a questionnaire. The results of data showed that the increase in cognitive skillss of the experimental class students obtained N-Gain value of 0.44 which was categorized as moderate and in the control class the value of the N-Gain of 0.23 was categorized as low. The statistical test ( =-5.89) showed that there are differences in cognitive skills of students (α= 5%) between students who are given learning with a multiple representations approach and students who are given learning with the usual learning approach. Students gave high response  about the learning multiple representations with  a percentage of the total response 82.23%. Keywords: Cognitive Skills, Momentum And  Impuls, Multiple representations Approach

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop comic teaching materials that are used as a medium to remediate students 'misconceptions in Archimedes' legal material in junior high school. The form of research conducted is research and development (R & D). Comic teaching materials are developed based on students 'misconceptions on Archimedes' legal material from some previous FKIP UNTAN physics education study programs. The sample in this study amounted to 99 students, namely from the eighth grade students of Pontianak City State Middle School. Comic teaching materials can be used to provide alternative teaching materials for teachers and students, based on the results of validation with the Aiken index of 1 level of validity seen in the validity of media theory, and language. Media validity is categorized as high (0.78), the validity of the theory is categorized as high (0.72) and the validity of the language is categorized as high (0.79) and the response data of students goes into the high category (85.02%). This study can be used by teachers in reducing student misconceptions in Archimedes law material, understanding the concept of learning and as an alternative teaching material for teachers and students. Keywords: teaching materials, comics, misconceptions, Archimedes law.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was aimed to develop diagnostic test on Newton's law materials so that a test can be used to diagnose students misconceptions. The type of research conducted was research of development. The test was developed based on misconceptions which experienced by students on Newton's law material and was specially designed to detect students misconceptions. The results of the initial draft obtained 26 questions that had been validated by five lecturers and four teachers. The test was then tested in a small scale on 35 students of grade X in SMA Negeri 1 Pemangkat. Small-scale trial was conducted to determine the reliability and the level of difficulty of the questions. The results of the study on small-scale trial obtained the reliability value of 0.58. Furthermore, large-scale trials were conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Pemangkat, SMA Negeri 1 Semparuk, and SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga with the samples of 94 students. The results showed that there 15 questions of Newton's diagnostic test meet the diagnostic test criteria. It was indicated by the validator valuation of 0.82 for content validation, and reliability of 0.63, and readability level value of 5.67 which meant the test was easy to read by high school students. Keywords: diagnostics test, Misconception, Newton's Law
