Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine students 'understanding of aspects of understanding in understanding Newton's legal concepts and knowing the factors that cause students' lack of understanding in SMA Negeri 3 Bengkayang class X MIPA totaling 30 students. This type of research is simple descriptive research. Found the percentage of score overall answers students do not understand Newton's legal concept of 67.8%. Judging from every aspect of understanding, the extrapolation aspect has a higher level of difficulty compared to the translation and interpretation aspects. The cause of students not understanding in understanding the concept include students not understanding the concept, not understanding the relationship between concepts, not understanding and interpreting formulas, and lack of teachers in giving questions in the form of understanding concepts.Keywords: Analysis, Understanding, Translation, Interpretation, Extrapolation.

Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas belajar siswa, melalui model Problem Based Learning pada materi fluida dinamis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari lima fase, yaitu identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI D SMK SMTI Pontianak tahun ajaran 2015/2016 sebanyak 35 siswa. Pengumpulan data meliputi lembar tes hasil belajar, lembar kerja siswa, dan lembar observasi. Data yang diperoleh  menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar  siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II sebesar 46% menjadi 63%. Tes yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran ditentukan dengan hasil persentase ketuntasan secara klasikal. Hasil aktivitas belajar siswa menunjukkan peningkatan, yaitu pada siklus I dan siklus II kategori aktif 17,14% menjadi 4,20%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi fluida dinamis.   Kata Kunci : Hasil, Aktivitas, PBL, Fluida Dinamis. Abstract : The aims of this study is to improve learning outcomes and student  activities through the Problem Based Learning model at the dynamic fluid material. Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subjects were students of class XI D SMK SMTI Pontianak 2015/2016 academic year as many as 35 students. The data collection includes achievement test, student worksheets, and activity of observation sheet. The data obtained showed an increase in student learning outcomes from the first cycle to the second cycle of 46% to 63%. The tests were given before and after the learning is determined by the percentage of classical completeness. The results of learning activities of students showing improvement, namely in the first cycle and the second cycle of active category 17.14% to 4.20%. These results indicate that the model of Problem Based Learning can improve learning outcomes and student learning activities in a dynamic fluid material. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine student responses about the use of problem based learning models (PBL) on straight motion matter. Data was taken by questionnaire of student's response that gave after the learning process end. Data analyse was used by percentage. There are 28 students from SMPN 8 Pontianak involved in this research. Indirect communication techniques are used to collect data. The research resulst showed that, more than 70% gave a positive response to use of problem based learning models (PBL) on straight motion matter. They further showed that: (1) the use of PBL models on creative thinking skills (79.5%) with good category, (2) the PBL model learning process (86%) with very good category, (3) the benefits of PBL models on the material of Straight Motion (83.5%) with very good category, (4) Impact of PBL models on creative thinking skills (77.25%) with good category, and (5) Creative thinking skills related to Straight Motion matterl (75%) with good category. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Straight Motion, Student's Response

Abstract

Abstrak: This study is aimed to determine the effect of remediation by re-using the learning methods of scramble to lower the students' learning difficulties on class VIII K Immanuel II junior high school for Newton's law. It uses Pre-Experimental Design, which formed as One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with a total of 33 participants VIIIA class by selected intact group. The data collection tools used such as: Multiple-choice diagnostic tests to determine the average decline in the students' learning difficulties and the student interest questionnaire in a closed questionnaire to find a large increase in the student interest. Pretest and posttest results show a decline in the average percentage of students' learning difficulties each concepts by 5.90% and the average decrease in the percentage of students' learning difficulties by 9.78%. Wilcoxon test results show that there are differences between the students' learning difficulties while the remediation using scramble has been given and after in a re-learning method (Z count (2.43)> Z table value (1.96)) with the level of effectiveness about 0.3 (relatively low).The improvement of student interest are moderate ((g) = 0,37). Keywords: Remediation, learning difficulties, scramble methods Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh remediasi berupa pembelajaran ulang menggunakan metode scramble untuk menurunkan kesulitan belajar siswa di kelas VIII SMP K Immanuel II Sungai Raya pada materi hukum Newton. Bentuk penelitian ini merupakan Pre-Experimental Design dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design menggunakan partisipan sebanyak 33 siswa kelas VIIIA yang dipilih secara intact group. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan berupa tes diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda untuk mengetahui rata-rata penurunan kesulitan belajar siswa dan angket minat belajar siswa berupa angket tertutup untuk mengetahui besar peningkatan minat belajar siswa. Hasil pretes dan posttest menunjukkan terjadi penurunan rata-rata persentase kesulitan belajar siswa tiap konsep sebesar 5,90% dan penurunan rata-rata persentase kesulitan belajar tiap siswa sebesar 9,78%. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kesulitan belajar siswa antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan remediasi menggunakan metode scramble dalam pembelajaran ulang (Z hitung (2,43) > nilai Z tabel (1,96)) dengan tingkat efektivitasnya sebesar 0,3 (tergolong rendah). Peningkatan minat belajar siswa tergolong sedang ((g)=0,37). Kata kunci : Remediasi, kesulitan belajar, metode scramble

Abstract

Abstract: Simple descriptive survey method was conducted to investigate the forms of students misconceptions about the symbol of quantities and units of physics and physics formulas among grade VII the Khatulistiwa Jungkat Junior Secondary School students. The multiple choices, matching and essay tests were adminitrated to 38 students. It is indicated that 68,35% of the students have misconception on writing the symbols of quantities, 16,23% of the students have misconception on writing the symbols of units. In addition, there are 86% of the students who are not able to write the correct equation, 40% of the students do the test unsystematically, and there are 36% who are can not to implement the units correctly. Keywords: Description, Misconception, Symbol, Physics Formulas Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk-bentuk miskonsepsi siswa SMP Khatulistiwa Jungkat tentang lambang besaran dan satuan serta rumus-rumus fisika kelas VII dengan metode survai deskriptif sederhana. Seluruh siswa kelas VII A dan VII B menjadi sampel dalam penelitian ini, tetapi hanya 38 dari 44 siswa yang dapat ikut berpartisipasi. Alat pengumpul data tes objektif pilihan ganda dan menjodohkan serta tes essay. Ditemukan persentase siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi dalam menuliskan lambang besaran (68,35 %), menuliskan lambang satuan (16,23 %). Disamping itu, juga ditemukan 86 % siswa tidak dapat menuliskan persamaan matematis fisika yang betul, 40% kurang sistematis dalam menyelesaikan soal, dan ada 36 % yang tidak dapat menerapkan satuan dengan betul. Abstract

AbstractThis research is a pre-experimental design of one group pretest posttest design to determine the effect of remediation using REACT learning strategies to remediating student’s misconceptions about the Heat. This was done by collecting quantitative data with two instruments, pretest to determine student misconception before remediation and posttest to determine student misconceptions after remediation. Data was collected by using the diagnostic test in the form of multiple-choice comprised of nine questions by representing three concepts related to Heat arrengged using Modified Certainty of Response Index (Modified CRI). The test was administered to 36 grade 7th students. It is found that the REACT learning strategies can affect student’s misconceptions about the Heat. The average percentage of the decreasing of number of student’s misconceptions each concept is 61% and the effect size of this study is 0,74. This research showed the REACT learning strategies can be used as an alternative remediation activities to reduce student’s misconceptions.Keyword : Remediation, Misconception, REACT Learning Strategies

Abstract

AbstractFocus study on this meta-analysis was the effectiveness remediation of misconception. This study synthesized 51 thesis by bachelor students of physics education Tanjungpura University which published in Tanjungpura University library on 2013-2016 year period. It began reading abstract, the thesis body, and appendix. Then integrated data to a list of reading review as a means of gatherer data, and finally it analyzed. The average of effect size (ES) of all the thesis synthesized is 1,25 with various formula. The form of remediation implementation consists of re-teaching ( n = 47 ), feedback ( n = 1 ), interview ( n = 1 ), and integration ( n = 2 ). Based on stasistical analysis was obtained that IPK researchers, coefficients realibility, sampling method in this research have significant influence on effect size. The integration of remediation type is the most effective remediation activity which has effect size number 1.73. The result of the analysis research is expected to be consideration for overcoming student misconception remedial activity.Keywords: Meta-analysis, effectiveness, remediation, physics education

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menafsirkan grafik kinematika siswa. Sampel penelitian ialah 55 siswa kelas X  SMA Negeri 3 Sungai Kakap. Enam butir soal tes diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda alasan terbuka mewakili tiga indikator kemampuan menafsirkan grafik kinematika yang digunakan dalam penelitian. Ditemukan bahwa kemampuan menafsirkan grafik kinematika siswa sebesar 19,09 % (tergolong rendah). Beberapa bentuk kesalahan penafsiran grafik kinematika adalah: a) pada grafik kecepatan, siswa menganggap percepatan negatif ketika posisi benda berada di bawah sumbu x (41,82%); b) siswa beranggapan grafik merupakan lintasan yang ditempuh benda (60,00%); c) siswa menganggap apabila kurva horizontal (searah sumbu x) maka kecepatan dan percepatan benda tetap (65,45%). Faktor penyebab kesalahan penafsiran grafik kinematika siswa disebabkan kemampuan konseptual dan kemampuan spasial siswa yang rendah. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan acuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menafsirkan grafik kinematika siswa. Kata Kunci : Deskripsi, Kemampuan Menafsirkan, Grafik Kinematika Abstract: This research aimed to find out student’s ability in interpreting kinematic graphs. Graphs interpreting which were used in this research 55 students in class X of  SMA N 3 Sungai Kakap were chosen as the sample. Six open-ended multiple choice items of diagnostic test represent three indicators of kinematic graphs interpreting. The result showed that the student’s interpreting kinematic graphs ability were 19,09 % (low category). Some kinematic graphs misinterpreting were: a) on the velocity graph, students assumed the acceleration was negative when the position of the objectis below the x-axis (41,82%); b) students assumed the graphs was the path by the object (60,00%); c) students assumed when the curve is horizontal (in the x-axis), the velocity and accelertion of the object were constant (65,45%). Kinematic graphs misinterpreting caused by the students’s conceptual and spatial ability were low. These findings are expected to be references to improve the students’s ability in kinematic graphs interpreting. Keywords : Descriptive, Interpreting Ability, Kinematic Graph

Abstract

AbstractAbstract: This research aims to know the influence of the use of the ROTEZI (Refutation Text on Prezi) for social interactions to the lower of the number of students who experienced the misconception on the heat and temperature materials in SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak. The type of research in pseudo experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study was XI IPA 4 as many as 37 students as experiment class and XI IPA 3 as much as 33 students as a control class. An instrument that being used in the form of multiple choice tests with open-ended rationale amounted to 9 reserved. The average percentage decrease in the number of students who have experienced the misconception on the experimental class of 52.23% while the average percentage decrease in the amount of money students are having a misconception on the control class was 43.43%. Based on the test results chi squared with a 5% significance level showed that there is a difference between the usage of Refutation Text on Prezi (ROTEZI) in social interactions with learning of conventional methods in lowering student misconceptions on the heat and temperature materials in SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak.Keywords: Misconception, prezi, refutation text, remediation, heat and temperature.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the effectivity of the Problem Based Learning  (PBL) design to remediate the misconceptions of the students toward oscillation subject. This study used quasy-experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design which 63 students participated at  the VIII grade in SMPN 2 Sungai Raya, which was taken by cluster random sampling. The data was taken by 15 multiple choice open-ended questions. The average of the reduction of the misconceptions in the experimental class was 51.99%, whereas in control group was 14.38%. Based on U Mann-Whitney with significance 5%, showed that there was a significant difference between the PBL design and conventional design to remediate the student’s misconceptions in oscillation. PBL design is effective in remediating the student’s misconceptions in oscillation with effect size score in 2.31 which is categorized high enough by Cohen. So the PBL design can be used as the alternative design for remediating the misconceptions. Keyword: Remediation, Problem Based Learning, Oscilation
