Abstract

Pendidikan berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia, tidak hanya pada aspek kognitif, tetapi juga dalam pengembangan kerja sama dan interaksi sosial. Pembelajaran IPS di SMP masih sering didominasi metode konvensional yang berpusat pada guru, sehingga siswa cenderung pasif dan hasil belajar kurang optimal. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran yang mampu mendorong keaktifan, kerja sama, dan interaksi sosial siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) dan Kooperatif Learning terhadap kerja sama, interaksi sosial, dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPS di SMPN 21 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model TPS dan kelas kontrol yang menerapkan Pembelajaran Kooperatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui skala Likert untuk mengukur kerja sama dan interaksi sosial serta tes pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur hasil belajar. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji t sampel berpasangan, dan uji t sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share (TPS) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan kerja sama, interaksi sosial, dan hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan model Pembelajaran Kooperatif. Pembelajaran dalam pasangan kecil pada model TPS mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa, menciptakan interaksi sosial yang lebih intens, dan meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPS secara lebih bermakna. Dengan demikian, model TPS dinilai lebih efektif untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPS kelas VIII.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low level of collaborative skills and self-efficacy of students in social studies learning due to the dominance of conventional methods that are not aligned with the multidimensional and interpretive epistemology of social studies. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving students' collaborative skills and self-efficacy in social studies learning, specifically on the topic of Social Conflict and Integration. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The population was eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sidoarjo, with two classes selected using purposive sampling: an experimental class (n=37) using the STAD model and a control class (n=37) using a simple cooperative model. The research instruments included a collaborative skills observation sheet and a self-efficacy questionnaire that had been validated. Data analysis techniques used the Independent Sample T-Test and N-Gain test. The results showed that the STAD model was significantly more effective than the simple cooperative model. The mean post-test score for collaborative skills in the experimental class (78.00) was higher than that of the control class (75.11), with a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05). The mean post-test score for self-efficacy in the experimental class (87.11) was also much higher than that of the control class (69.46) (p<0.05). The N-Gain test confirmed the effectiveness of the STAD model in the moderate to high category for both variables. This study concludes that the integration of the STAD cooperative learning model is effective in simultaneously improving students' collaborative skills and self-efficacy. It provides a theoretical contribution to the development of learning models based on social and cognitive constructivism, as well as a practical contribution for social studies teachers in implementing innovative 21st-century learning.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of using rock type classification comparator board media in contextual learning on the geography learning outcomes of grade X students at SMAN 22 Surabaya. The research employed a quantitative descriptive approach with a quasi-experimental design, involving pre-tests and post-tests for experimental and control groups. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and test instruments. The validity and reliability of the research instruments were confirmed through Cronbach's Alpha values exceeding 0.6. Results indicate that the use of comparator board media significantly enhances student learning outcomes in terms of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The Mann-Whitney Test revealed a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05), while the Spearman Rank Correlation showed varied results, with positive correlations in the affective aspect (0.611) and negative correlations in cognitive (-0.146) and psychomotor (-0.087) aspects. Despite the high cost of the media being a limitation, the tool's functionality and its ability to foster collaborative learning make it effective in improving student engagement and understanding of lithosphere materials. This study highlights the importance of innovative teaching tools in enhancing learning outcomes.
