Abstract

This study aims to produce a science e-book based on local wisdom that is feasible, practical, and effective to improve students' digital literacy and critical thinking skills. This research method is a development research using the 4D model. The subjects of this study were grade VIII students at one of the Mataram City Public Junior High Schools consisting of 3 classes. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation sheets and test instruments developed according to critical thinking and digital literacy indicators. Data analysis techniques used Aikens'V for the feasibility test, practicality percentage test and normalized gain test to test the hypothesis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the science e-book based on local wisdom that was developed was included in the category of feasible, practical and effective for use in science learning and could improve students' digital literacy and critical thinking skills. Science e-books based on local wisdom support students in the learning process by utilizing technology. The use of science e-books based on local wisdom makes it easier for students to learn and provides fun and up-to-date things. Learning using science e-books based on local wisdom encourages students to learn actively and creatively because it is accompanied by exploratory tasks.

Abstract

Pembelajaran yang menyenangkan (joyful learning) merupakan salah satu elemen penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif dan produktif, khususnya pada pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP). Namun, di banyak sekolah, pembelajaran IPA masih cenderung berfokus pada metode ceramah dan penggunaan media pembelajaran yang terbatas, sehingga seringkali kurang menarik bagi siswa. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru dan siswa di SMPN 6 Mataram dalam pembuatan media KIT IPA berbasis pendekatan STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Pendekatan STEM dipilih karena dapat mengintegrasikan berbagai disiplin ilmu untuk membantu siswa mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan kolaboratif, yang sangat relevan dengan kebutuhan pendidikan abad ke-21. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk mencakup materi tentang konsep dasar STEM, cara merancang KIT IPA yang sesuai dengan kurikulum, hingga praktik langsung dalam membuat dan menggunakan media tersebut di kelas. Selain itu, pelatihan juga memberikan panduan kepada guru tentang bagaimana mengintegrasikan KIT IPA berbasis STEM ke dalam strategi pembelajaran yang mendukung joyful learning, seperti penggunaan metode diskusi, kerja kelompok, dan eksperimen berbasis proyek. Hasil pengabdian menujukkan bahwa guru mampu merancang dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik, interaktif, dan kontekstual, sementara siswa dapat terlibat langsung dalam proses belajar yang berbasis eksplorasi dan eksperimen.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate the validity of e-modules based on problem-based learning (PBL) integrated with local wisdom to improve students' science literacy and science process skills. The e-module was developed using the 4D development model (define, design, develop, disseminate). Validation of the e-module involved three experts by assessing aspects of content, presentation, and language and was tested using Aiken's V analysis. The validation results showed that the e-module had a high level of validity with the category “very valid,” in the aspects of content, presentation and language. In addition, the results of the validation of learning tools such as the flow of learning objectives, teaching modules, and test instruments for science literacy and science process skills also produced good assessments. These results indicate that this PBL-based e-module is not only valid for use in learning, but also effective in supporting the improvement of understanding of science concepts, appreciation of local culture, as well as science literacy and science process skills of students. Thus, this e-module has the potential to be an innovative solution for science learning that is contextual, interactive, and relevant to the needs of the 21st century.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran fisika yang digunakan selama ini masih belum sepenuhnya mampu memfasilitasi peningkatan kemampuan peserta didik, khususnya dalam hal literasi sains serta pemberian media pembelajaran yang kurang menarik. Hal ini menunjukkan perlunya pengembangan media pembelajaran yang inovatif, interaktif, dan menyenangkan agar pembelajaran fisika menjadi lebih bermakna. Oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini dikembangkan media pembelajaran fisika berbantuan android yang menerapkan model discovery learning. Tujuannya menghasilkan media yang valid, reliabel, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D, yaitu define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Media yang dikembangkan berfokus pada materi fluida statis yang terdiri dari tekanan hidrostatis, hukum utama hidrostatis, hukum pascal, hukum archimedes, tegangan permukaan, kapilaritas, viskositas dan hukum stokes. Kemudian pada penelitian ini dikembangkan perangkat pendukung seperti Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), bahan ajar, Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) dan instrumen tes literasi sains pada materi fluida statis. Media ini divalidasi oleh tiga validator ahli (dosen) dan tiga validator praktisi (guru). Selain itu, instrumen untuk mengukur kepraktisan media diperoleh dari angket respon peserta didik, sedangkan keefektifan diukur melalui instrument tes literasi sains, dimana peningkatan nilai pretest dan posttest literasi yang dianalisis dengan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai validasi sebesar 3,66 dengan kategori sangat valid, kemudian tingkat reliabilitas mencapai 92,99%. Tingkat kepraktisan diperoleh 91,09% memiliki kategori sangat praktis, sementara keefektifan diperoleh dengan nilai 0,68 dalam kategori sedang. Sedangkan, perolehan N-Gain setiap soal per-indikatornya untuk mengetahui peningkatan dari instrumen soal literasi sains peserta didik terdapat pada indikator pertama diperoleh nilai 0,99 kemudian indikator kedua sebesar 0,81 dan indikator ketiga sebesar 0,76. Peningkatan literasi sains tersebut dapat masuk dalam kategori sedang ke tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran fisika berbantuan android dengan pendekatan model discovery learning memiliki tingkat validitas yang tinggi, bersifat praktis, serta menunjukkan efektivitas yang cukup dalam meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik. Pada studi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman sains di kalangan peserta didik melalui penerapan teknologi yang inovatif.

Abstract

The implementation of discovery learning in plant systematics course requires learning media that can be used by undergraduate students. The learning media must have a user-friendly design and accessibility so that it can be used in the field. This study aims to develop a flip e-module as learning media in the discovery learning to enhance undergraduate students' collaboration. This research is a Research and Development with 4D model with four stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The feasibility decision is based on various tests carried out including expert validation tests, readability tests, and classroom application tests by implementing flip e-module in discovery learning model. The results of expert validation and practicality tests indicate that the flip e-module is valid and no revision required. The results of the implementation test indicate that there is an increase in the quality of student collaboration with mean score from 75 to 84. The role of e-modules in discovery-based learning is to facilitate groups’ collaboration in carrying out the discovery activity stage. Further research in quasi-experimental design is needed to observe the effectiveness of e-modules.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance human resource quality at SMPN 6 Mataram through the implementation of project-based learning. Project-based learning focuses on engaging students in solving real-world problems, allowing them to develop not only academic skills but also practical experience in project management and teamwork. The program was implemented in several stages: planning, execution, and evaluation, with students actively involved in each phase. The results showed significant improvements in students' project management and teamwork skills. Additionally, the program had a positive impact on students' engagement in learning and opened up better future prospects for them. Overall, project-based learning has proven to be an effective strategy for improving human resource quality in the educational environment, especially at SMPN 6 Mataram.

Abstract

The Gagné and Briggs learning model is one of the systematic approaches used in instructional design. This literature study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Gagné and Briggs model in improving learning outcomes based on a review of 50 research journals. The method used is a descriptive analysis of various studies that have been conducted in various educational contexts, ranging from primary to tertiary education, as well as in various subjects. The study results show that the model is effective in improving students' concept understanding, critical thinking skills and long-term retention. In addition, this model also supports a more structured and systematic learning process, making it easier for educators to develop teaching strategies. However, there are some challenges in implementing this model, such as the need for careful planning and adjustments to the characteristics of students. Thus, the Gagné and Briggs model remains relevant and can be applied effectively in various educational settings with some necessary adjustments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the validity and reliability of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based science module integrated with the Ethno-STEM approach and assisted by Augmented Reality (AR) on the Motion and Force material for seventh-grade junior high school students. The module was developed as an innovative effort to improve the quality of science learning by linking local cultural contexts and the use of technology. The research method used includes validity and reliability testing involving seven expert validators, consisting of four lecturers and three science teachers, who assessed the feasibility of learning documents with five assessment scales, including the Learning Objective Flow (ATP), Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), Teaching Module, and Student Worksheet (LKPD). Validity was analyzed using Aiken's V formula, and the results of the analysis showed that all components obtained V values between 0.75 and 1.00, which was categorized as valid. Meanwhile, the inter-rater reliability test using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) showed an ICC value between 0.753 and 0.947. This indicates that the developed module has excellent inter-rater consistency and good to very good reliability. Therefore, this PBL-based science module, integrated with Ethno-STEM and AR, has been proven valid and reliable for use in the learning process at the junior high school level, making it a reliable learning resource.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis model project based learning (PjBL) berbantuan alat musik sarone terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis (2) pengaruh model PjBL berbantuan alat musik sarone terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis, (3) pengaruh motivasi berprestasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent pretest-posstest control group design. Populasinya adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Lembar tahun pelajaran 2024/2025 dengan jumlah 117 peserta didik. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas X1 MIPA 1 sebanyak 30 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol berjumlah 30 peserta didik. Perangkat pembelajaran di validasi terlebih dahulu oleh 3 validator ahli dan 2 validator praktisi. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan dengan menggunakan model PjBL berbantuan alat musik sarone sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan model direct instruction. Data diambil menggunakan tes soal uraian untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dan angket untuk mengetahui motivasi berprestasi peserta didik. Hasil tes akhir kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 67,2 kategori sedang dan kelas kontrol 59,5 kategori rendah. Hipotesis penelitian diuji menggunakan uji ANCOVA satu jalan dengan taraf signifikan 5%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) perangkat pembelajaran layak digunakan, 2) terdapat pengaruh model PjBL berbantuan alat musik sarone terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik yaitu 0,002<0,05, 3) terdapat pengaruh motivasi berprestasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebesar 0,000<0,05.
