Abstract

This study examines the role of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in enhancing critical thinking skills in science education, focusing on research published from 2019 to 2024. The primary objective is to analyze trends in the literature related to PjBL and its impact on students' critical thinking, with an emphasis on integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. A bibliometric approach was used, analyzing data from academic databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar, using tools like Publish or Perish 8 and VOSviewer. The results show a significant increase in publications on PjBL, particularly regarding critical thinking and STEM integration. Key themes such as problem-solving, collaboration, and the use of digital tools have gained prominence. The study also highlights the growing interest in technology-enhanced PjBL, especially in hybrid and online learning environments. PjBL is shown to effectively foster critical thinking by engaging students in real-world, inquiry-based projects. Future research should explore the role of digital tools in PjBL and its long-term impact on students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Mayoritas mahasiswa menggunakan dan membuat power point secara manual sebagai media pembelajaran dalam menunjang proses belajar mengajar di kelas. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi, upgrade pengetahuan dan penguasaan teknologi menjadi suatu tuntutan kewajiban khususnya bagi mahasiswa agar tidak mengalami ketertinggalan teknologi. Media pembelajaran semakin beragam dan menyajikan berbagai fitur menarik dan kemudahan bagi pengguna. Hal tersebut memotivasi tim pengabdi untuk melakukan edukasi dan juga pelatihan IT menggunakan aplikasi Artificial Intelligence (AI) yaitu Gamma APP agar dapat mendukung pengembangan media pembelajaran. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menambah wawasan mahasiswa sebagai peserta dalam pemanfaatan media AI. Peserta diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan secara intensif mulai dari cara pembuatan powerpoint menggunakan aplikasi gamma app hingga menjadi media yang siap digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu 1) Koordinasi dengan semua pihak terkait; 2) Pelatihan tentang pemanfaatan AI; 3) Pendampingan dalam pembuatan powerpoint menggunakan gamma app; 4) Focus group discussion pada beberapa masalah yang terjadi, solusi dan rencana tindak lanjutnya. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengolahan data keseluruhan indikator adalah peserta setuju bahwa pelaksanaan pelatihan telah berjalan dengan baik, dimana sebagian besar peserta berpandangan bahwa pelaksanaan pelatihan telah memberikan manfaat yang mendalam dan sangat membantu dalam peningkatan kualitas diri peserta.

Abstract

Limbah ampas tahu banyak dijumpai di berbagai tempat usaha produksi tahu. Hal ini mengakibatkan pencemaran. Limbah ampas tahu sebaiknya dimanfaatkan sebagai produk. Pemanfaatan tepung ampas tahu atau tepung okara menjadi produk pangan akan berpeluang menjadiusaha peningkatan pendapatan rumah tangga. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu mengenalkan tentang pengolahan produk pangan berupa pembuatan tepung aksara ke mahasiswa peserta KKN. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu: survei analisis situasi mitra yang terdiri dari 10 mahasiswa KKN; persiapan pelaksanaan kegiatan; workshop pembuatan tepung aksara; serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu adanya minat dan ketertarikan mahasiswa untuk memanfaatkan limbah ampas tahu sebagai bahan untuk membuat tepung aksara. Hal ini terlihat dari antusias mahasiswa dalam mengikuti kegiatan tersebut. Pada tahap evaluasi juga diketahui bahwa mahasiswa tertarik untuk mengembangkan produk berupa tepung aksara yang memiliki nilai ekonomi sehingga berpeluang untuk dijadikan usaha baru dengan harapan dapat menambah pendapatan rumah tangga.

Abstract

Pelatihan penggunaan media flipping book terintegrasi kearifan lokal sebagai Sumber Belajar Tambahan Guru bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi flipping book yang terintegrasi dengan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal sebagai sumber belajar tambahan. Pelatihan ini mengajarkan cara menciptakan materi pembelajaran yang menarik dan relevan dengan budaya lokal, sehingga dapat meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa. Guru akan diberikan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan teknologi flipping book, termasuk cara membuat, mengedit, dan menyajikan materi secara interaktif. Selain itu, pelatihan juga menekankan pentingnya memasukkan unsur-unsur kearifan lokal dalam konten pembelajaran untuk menjaga keberlanjutan budaya dan meningkatkan relevansi pembelajaran bagi siswa. pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan guru dalam menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik, beragam, dan terhubung dengan realitas budaya siswa, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran dan memupuk rasa kecintaan siswa terhadap warisan budaya lokal mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini akan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu 1) Koordinasi dengan semua pihak terkait; 2) Pelatihan tentang pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi; 3) Pendampingan dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi oleh guru; 4) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) pada beberapa masalah yang terjadi, solusi dan rencana tindak lanjutnya. Manfaat secara nyata bahwa, siswa lebih mudah mengakses panduan belajar dan termotivasi untuk belajar lebih baik. Penggunaan media fliping book dalam pembelajaran akan mempermudah guru untuk menyampaikan materi ajar ke siswa, siswa dapat membaca kapanpun dan dimanapun dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi atau web yang dapat diakses menggunakan handpone

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan Jigsaw terhadap penguasaan konsep fisika peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Kediri. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian posttest only control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Kediri tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 dengan teknik pengambilan cluster random sampling. Terdapat dua sampel yang diambil yaitu sampel sebagai kelas yang diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (kelas eksperimen 1) dan kelas yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw (kelas eksperimen 2). Nilai rata-rata-rata tes akhir penguasaan konsep kelas eksperimen 1 dan 2 berturut-turut adalah 73,69 dan 61,07. Kedua kelas homogen dan terdistribusi normal. Data penguasaan konsep dianalisis menggunakan uji-t polled varians. Hipotesis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung lebih besar dari ttabel (2,841  2,021) pada taraf signifikan 5% yang berarti bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkanbahwa terdapat pengaruh antara penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan Jigsaw terhadap penguasaan konsep fisika peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 1 Kediri.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to test the effect of the anchored instruction model assisted by PhET on students' physics problem solving abilities in optical instruments at SMAN 1 Sukamulia. The type of research used is quasi experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population is all students in class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Sukamulia, totaling 52 people. The research sample was taken using a saturated sampling technique and class XI MIPA 1 was selected as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 2 was selected as the control class. The experimental class was treated with an anchored instruction model assisted by PhET and the control class was treated with a direct learning model. The research instrument consists of a problem solving ability test (KPM) in the form of a description test of 10 questions taking into account validity, reliability, level of difficulty and differentiability of questions. The KPM pre-test and post-test data were tested for normality and homogeneity, then continued with hypothesis testing using the twin sample t-test. Hypothesis test results obtained that the calculated t value was greater than the t table, so Ha was accepted, so that the PhET-assisted anchored instruction learning model had an effect on ability. Abstract

Facing and following increasingly sophisticated technological developments in science learning studies, both pupils and students must increase scientific literacy to improve critical thinking. Critical thinking skills will encourage students to understand problems and create alternative problem solutions with problem solving stages, namely clarification, assessment, inference and strategy. This research aims to explore the Study of Science Learning Based on Scientific Literacy in Improving Critical Thinking. The research was conducted using a scoping review approach. A scoping review is typically used to map the existing literature on a defined topic in terms of the volume, nature, and characteristics of key studies. The results of the scoping review analysis found several problems such as the low level of science learning regarding scientific literature so that pupils and students are unable to identify problematic issues and scientific evidence due to a lack of practicing skills in conducting scientific literature. The impact that occurs is that the ability to think critically decreases. Therefore, various efforts are being made, one of which is that pupils and students must have concepts to connect science, science learning websites, focus on specific knowledge, be able to design relevant indicators, have the ability to translate into critical, systematic and anticipatory actions, students' critical thinking skills , school location, and problem-based learning model

Abstract

Generic science abilities are abilities that students must have so that the knowledge and skills obtained in the learning process can be applied in everyday life and answer the challenges of an increasingly developing era. Generic science skills can be facilitated through learning with a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research aims to identify and analyze research trends of PBL model to improve generic science skill in science learning. This research method is descriptive and analytical. The data used in this research was obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar from 2015-2024 using Publish or Perish and Dimension.ai. Research procedures use PRISMA guidelines. The data identified and analyzed are the type of publication, publication source, and the title of research on PBL model to improve generic science skill in science learning that is widely cited. The data analysis method uses bibliometric analysis assisted by VOS viewer software. The results of the analysis show that research trend on PBL model to improve generic science skill in science learning indexed by Google Scholar from 2015 to 2024 has experienced a fluctuating increase. Research trend with an increase in the number of publications from 2015 to 2018. However, in 2019 and 2022 the research trend on the generic science ability in learning has decreased from the previous year and the research trend increase again in 2023. There are many documents in the form of articles, proceedings, book chapters and edited books that discuss research about Problem Based Learning model to improve generic science skills in science learning. Key words that are often used in research of generic science are critical thinking, e module, science learning, PBL, etc.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulations on students' generic science skills in energy sources. The type of research used in this research is quasi-experimental with a pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study was all class The research sample was taken using purposive sampling, so that 28 class X1 students were selected as the experimental class and 22 class X2 students as the control class. The independent variable in this research is the Project Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulations which is used in the experimental class, while generic science skills are the dependent variable. The instrument used to measure generic science skills is a test instrument in the form of a multiple choices test with 10 questions. The results of pre-test data analysis showed that students' initial knowledge was almost the same, but after being given treatment the average post-test score for the experimental class was 80.00 and the control class was 71.67. The results of the t test using the Independent Sample T-test in the post-test showed a significance (2 tailed) of 0.018 < 0.050, so it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning model assisted by PhET simulations has an effect on students' generic science skills in energy sources.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a science e-book based on local wisdom that is feasible, practical, and effective to improve students' digital literacy and critical thinking skills. This research method is a development research using the 4D model. The subjects of this study were grade VIII students at one of the Mataram City Public Junior High Schools consisting of 3 classes. Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation sheets and test instruments developed according to critical thinking and digital literacy indicators. Data analysis techniques used Aikens'V for the feasibility test, practicality percentage test and normalized gain test to test the hypothesis. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the science e-book based on local wisdom that was developed was included in the category of feasible, practical and effective for use in science learning and could improve students' digital literacy and critical thinking skills. Science e-books based on local wisdom support students in the learning process by utilizing technology. The use of science e-books based on local wisdom makes it easier for students to learn and provides fun and up-to-date things. Learning using science e-books based on local wisdom encourages students to learn actively and creatively because it is accompanied by exploratory tasks.
