Abstract

Nowadays evidence-based design in the hospital design process is increasingly needed in making design decisions. This process provides an opportunity for architects to be able to find new solutions in anticipating various problems related to architectural aspects. One of the problems that exist in the hospital building types is the need to accommodate change. The change referred to in this case is a change in the architecture of the building's configuration. The existence of change requires a flexible and adaptive architectural design. Change provides an opportunity to grow and improve but also provides chance for problems. In this case the problem faced is the tendency of the need for spatial changes both due to their capacity and function. the research aims to identify the form of change as an initial step in the design stage. The method used is a literature study and case study at a public hospital in Surabaya to determine the trends in the form of changes that generally occur. Based on the results obtained there are five types of changes, namely Volume, service lines, Patient mix and standard of care, Size and Medical Discovery, and three types of changes that can occur in hospital architecture, namely improvisation, Building changes, Expansion Building (Building Extension). The trends in the types and forms of change in the two hospitals are Volume and improvisation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality control (QC) management in maintaining the flavor consistency of Robusta Coffee products and examine its implementation according to the perspective of Sharia Economics at the X-Barue Kalibaru Home Industry. This descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach utilizes the Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycle and flowchart analysis tools within the Total Quality Management (TQM) framework. Primary data sources were obtained through interviews and direct observation. Findings indicate that the X-Barue Home Industry successfully maintains flavor consistency through natural method-based control, supported by the disciplined application of the PDCA cycle at every processing stage. Essentially, the business practices observed, such as honesty, willingness to provide compensation (responsibility/guarantee), and high meticulousness, inherently reflect core Sharia values such as amanah (trustworthiness) and the maslahah (public interest) principle. The novelty of this study lies in modeling a holistic QC that integrates the technical discipline of quality management with Islamic business ethics. The implication is the strengthening of the Sharia Economics framework, demonstrating that sustainable product quality is an inseparable part of Islamic business practices.

Abstract

Efficient warehouse management is critical for make-to-order production systems. This study investigates waste reduction in a metal casting company’s finished-product warehouse by applying Lean Warehousing principles. Using time-motion studies, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Pareto diagrams, and fishbone diagrams, the research analyzed 13 workstations and identified five primary areas of waste. Simulation results demonstrated a significant cycle time reduction from 2,559 to 2,128 seconds, alongside an increased proportion of value-added activities. Although limited to a simulation, the findings highlight the effectiveness of Lean tools in standardizing work and redesigning layouts. The study concludes that continuous monitoring and Lean implementation are essential for achieving sustainable operational efficiency and reducing costs in industrial warehousing.

Abstract

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most commonly prescribed drugs for pregnant women to treat fever, pain and inflammation. Specific NSAIDs can displace thyroid hormone from its protein binding sites, causing thyroid hormone measurement problems. {1,3 bis (p-Hydroxyphenyl)urea} is a modified p-aminophenol compound with potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity and less toxicity. This study is a follow-up to previous research to observe the toxic effect on triiodothyronine hormone levels after administration of {1,3 bis(p-Hydroxyphenyl)urea} compound in pregnant white rats. The toxic effect test was carried out by giving the test preparation to pregnant rats, which had been divided into five groups, namely the normal control group (CMC-Na 0.5%), the positive control (Gabapentin 50 mg/kg BW), Compound {1.3 bis (p- Hydroxyphenyl)urea} at a dose of 50 mg/kg BW, 500 mg/kg BW and 1000 mg/kg BW. Mice were given the test preparation every day from the 6th to the 15th day of pregnancy. Blood was taken on the 16th day, and T3 hormone levels were measured using the ELISA method. The results showed that the T3 hormone levels in the {1,3 bis(p-Hydroxyphenyl)urea group had no significant difference from the normal control group, so it was concluded that {1,3 bis(p-Hydroxyphenyl)urea) did not have a significant effect on the hormone T3.

Abstract

In industrial companies, both large and small-scale, performance is the main indicator of organizational success. Optimal performance can be achieved if the organization implements a healthy and effective organizational culture. On the contrary, an improper organizational culture can lead to conflicts between employees and stakeholders. Conflicts often arise that can cause work discomfort. The impact is to reduce work morale, negatively impacting performance and leading to a decline. Therefore, organizations need to build a culture that considers the human factor. One approach that can be applied is the concept of ergonomics, which integrates physical, cognitive, and organizational aspects to create a comfortable work environment so that employees can work healthily and effectively. This study aims to analyze the role of ergonomics on organizational culture and its implications in improving worker performance in the SME environment. This study uses a quantitative approach, supported by field observations and structured interviews with workers and managers of SMEs. Data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The results of the study show that ergonomic aspects that have a significant effect on the formation of organizational culture with a loading factor value greater than 0.7 include physical ergonomics through workload variables (with work duration indicators), work environment variables (with temperature, humidity, lighting, and noise indicators), and equipment and equipment variables (with indicators of tool and machine design conditions, cognitive ergonomics (with indicators of perception, logical reasoning, and working relationships); and organizational ergonomics through work system design variables (with communication indicators and task variations) and work organization variables (with organizational structure indicators). These findings confirm that improving ergonomics not only creates a healthier and more efficient work environment but also strengthens organizational cultural values, which ultimately positively impacts the overall performance of SMEs

Abstract

Limited access to formal capital for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in rural areas often drives dependence on Bank Plecit (informal usurious lenders) with high-interest rates (riba), which structurally damages community economic welfare. This study focuses on analyzing the role and optimalization of the Lingsir Wengi Market program in Temuguruh Village as a community-based initiative to overcome this debt trap, examined through the perspective of the five fundamental principles of Maqashid Syariah. This research employed a qualitative approach with case study and phenomenology designs, where data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving market managers and MSME actors. The main results indicate that the Lingsir Wengi Market plays a critical role in increasing traders' income stability and serves as an effective economic defense mechanism. The market's optimization fundamentally realizes Hifz al-Mal (protection of wealth) through legitimate transactions and Hifz an-Nasl (protection of progeny) through ensuring a decent livelihood, which is this research's significant contribution. The implication is that this sharia-based MSME market model is a practical solution for rural consumer debt issues, requiring institutional strengthening (e.g., access to micro sharia financing) to ensure sustainability. Keywords : Lingsir Wengi Market, Informal Usurious Lender, Maqashid Syariah.
