Abstract

Hot water is water that has a temperature above the human body's temperature, which ranges between 37-100°C. The demand for hot water keeps increasing, especially for bathing purposes, as bathing with hot water is more comfortable and can help relax the body. Typically, hot water is obtained by boiling water using oil or wood-burning stoves and using electric water heaters, which increase household expenses. The best alternative to address this issue is to create a solar water heater. To improve the performance of a solar water heater, many researchers have conducted studies on this topic, but further improvements are still needed to achieve more optimal results. This research is conducted to test the effect of the number of sharp bends, the length of the pipe between sharp bends, and the arrangement of the pipe layout on the heat transfer that occurs in a 30 L solar water heater pipe with collector dimensions of 2.5 x 0.8 m². The variations made on the heating pipe involve varying the length of the pipe between sharp bends into three variations, namely (230, 670, 95) cm, arranged horizontally and vertically. Based on the research with an average solar radiation intensity of 790-850 W/m², the most optimal collector occurred in the variation III pipe (95 cm) with an end water temperature of 76.56°C, useful energy of 360.4333 W, solar water heater efficiency of 23.4714%, and convective heat transfer coefficient of 150.7833 W/m²K.

Abstract

Cooling towers serve as an important tool in industrial settings to reduce heat in machines that use water and air as working media, this process involves hot water generated from the machine coming into direct contact with air resulting in a small portion of the water evaporating which then reduces its temperature. Although previous research has attempted to improve the performance of cooling towers, there is still considerable scope for further exploration in achieving optimal results. One way to improve it is to adjust and change the flow of distributing fluid media by adding the number of holes on the flat plate of the cooling tower. Based on this phenomenon, the researcher wants to examine the magnitude of the heat transfer impact on a multi-storey cooling tower using triangular perforated flat plates with varying numbers of holes. The overall height of the cooling tower is 2.4 meters, consisting of five flat plates arranged in stages with each flat plate dimension having a length of 0.7 meters and a width of 0.5 meters, having a plate area of 3.5 m² with a tilt angle of each plate arrangement on the cooling tower which is 15 °. The number of holes in a given flat plate is 45, 55, and 65 holes, while the inlet water temperature is set at 80°C, 85°C, and 90°C. The results of this study revealed that the number of holes 65 showed a greater heat transfer effect compared to the other variations. Consequently, the number of holes significantly affects the heat transfer coefficient, thus impacting the overall performance of the multistage cooling tower.

Abstract

Pengelolaan rumput di lingkungan SMK Negeri 1 Bengkalis dilakukan untuk memperindah   tanaman   lanskap   maupun   sarana   luar   ruangan.   Penerapan pengelolaan rumput yang baik didaerah Sekolah dapat meningkatkan kualitas estetika bangunan dan lingkungan secara keseluruhan. Alat yang digunakan untuk memotong rumput ditaman di kampus semuanya mengunakan mesin rumput tipe gendong. Penggunaan pemotong rumput manual (tipe gendong) tidak efisien dan juga mengandung resiko kecelakaan. hal ini memungkinkan resiko yang tinggi jika terjadi kelalaian ketika mengoperasikan alat tersebut yang akan berakibat fatal bagi operator, selain itu banyak waktu dan tenaga yang tersita hanya utuk mengoperasikannya. Untuk itu perlu dirancang suatu alat pemotong rumput yang efisien dan dapat mengurangi resiko kecelakaan dalam menggunakan peralatan tersebut dengan memodofikasi mesin rumput tipe gendong menjadi tipe dorong dengan roda untuk mengurangi resiko kecelakaan kerja seperti terkena paku, batu dan pisau serta mengurangi kelelehaan operator terutama tukang kebun.

Abstract

Drying is a process of heat and mass transfer that occurs on the surface and within the material to be dried. It helps reduce the internal moisture of the material, inhibiting the growth, damage, and chemical changes of microorganisms during storage, thus extending the shelf life of dry materials and improving the quality of raw materials. This study aims to test multi-level drying equipment using combustion heat with a square shape and racks inside it used as the drying space for the material. The raw material was placed on racks made of perforated metal. This  research started from designing the drying equipment system, fabricating and testing system. The drying system was tested using fish and cocoa beans as sample materials. The tested equipment system included temperature distribution in the combustion chamber, distribution system of hot combustion gases through sharp turning technology, uniform temperature distribution in the drying chamber with 8 levels of racks, each capable of holding a load of 10 kg, and testing of the chimney system. The research findings concluded that to maintain a drying chamber temperature of 90⁰C, an average combustion chamber temperature of 339⁰C was required. The average combustion chamber temperature needed to maintain a drying chamber temperature of 80⁰C was 290⁰C. For a drying chamber temperature of 70⁰C, an average combustion chamber temperature of 314⁰C was required. The temperature distribution inside the drying chamber moves horizontally, indicating that the temperature distribution in the drying chamber was uniform for each drying rack.

Abstract

The efficient utilisation of energy resources is a key concern in industrial operations, particularly within the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector. During the regasification process, substantial amounts of cold energy are released as LNG transitions from its liquid to gaseous state. This cold energy, often wasted by being discharged into the environment, presents an opportunity for recovery and use in various applications such as cold storage and data centre cooling. While the utilisation of LNG cold energy has been widely explored for specific applications, including data centre cooling, electricity generation, and cryogenic systems, existing studies typically focus on individual technologies rather than a comprehensive optimisation of heat exchanger design for cold energy recovery. Therefore, there remains a significant gap in optimising heat exchanger configurations that maximise cold energy extraction while enabling broader industrial integration. This study addresses that gap by optimising the design of a shell-and-tube heat exchanger to recover cold energy from the LNG regasification process at PT Perta Arun Gas, based on an LNG flow rate of 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The design optimisation was performed using Aspen Exchanger Design and Rating (Aspen EDR) software. Propane was selected as the secondary fluid for extracting cold energy from LNG due to its exceptionally low-temperature performance (freezing point: -188°C) and proven safety in food-related environments. The shell-and-tube heat exchanger design was optimised by the standards and configurations defined by the TEMA designation. The resulting optimal configuration comprises a shell-and-tube heat exchanger with a tube diameter of 13 mm, a tube length of 2,550 mm, a shell diameter of 162.74 mm, a baffle pitch of 135 mm, 16 baffles, a single tube pass, and 54 tubes. This design achieves a heat transfer rate of 478.5 kW, with an estimated cost of USD 23,895.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan kulit nanas dalam pakan fermentasi terhadap persentase karkas dan kolesterol daging ayam potong. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan ternak percobaan sebanyak 80 ekor anak ayam umur 2 hari selama tiga puluh lima hari yang diacak dan dibagi menjadi empat perlakuan dan empat ulangan. Adapun perlakuan ransum disusun berdasarkan tingkat penggunaan kulit nanas yang difermentasi, yaitu: P1 (0,0%), P2 (10%), P3 (20%), dan P4 (30%). Parameter yang diamati adalah persentase karkas dan kolesterol daging ayam potong. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dan bila terdapat perbedaan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncans Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakan yang mengandung kulit nanas difermentasi dalam pakan komersil berpengaruh nyata menurunkan (P0,05) persentase karkas dan menurunkan kadar kolesterol pada ayam potong. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa kulit nanas yang difermentasi dalam pakan komersil pada ayam potong mampu menurunkan persentase karkas dan kolesterol pada daging dada ayam potong.(Effect of green leather generation (Ananas comosus L. Merr) fermentation on the percentage of carcass and cholesterol chicken pieces)ABSTRACT. The study was conducted to determine the effect of pineapple skin utilization in fermented feed on carcass and cholesterol percentage of chicken meat. The design used is Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with experimental as many as 80 day old chicken (DOC) aged 2 days, randomly selected, divided into four treatments and four replications and treated for thirty five days. The ration treatment was prepared based on the level of fermented pineapple skin use, namely: P1 (0,0%), P2 (10%), P3 (20%), and P4 (30%). The parameters observed were the percentage of carcass and cholesterol of chicken meat. The data obtained were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if the were differences followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test. The results showed that feed containing fermented pineapple skin significantly decreased (P 0,05) percentage of carcass and lower cholesterol levels in chicken meat. It can be concluded that the utilization of fermented pineapple skin in commercial feed have a significant effect on reducing the percentage of carcass and cholesterol in chicken breast meat.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membina dan meningkatkan keterampilan motorik dasar (seperti lari, lompat, lempar, dan koordinasi) siswa sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Putri Betung, Gayo Lues, melalui penerapan metode bermain yang edukatif dan menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah partisipatif melalui pendekatan learning by playing. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan permainan-permainan yang dirancang khusus untuk melatih komponen motorik kasar dan halus. Beberapa permainan yang diterapkan antara lain estafet bola, lompat tali, permainan target, dan permainan tradisional yang dimodifikasi. Peserta kegiatan adalah siswa dari kelas 1 hingga kelas 3 di beberapa SD mitra. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dalam beberapa sesi dengan melibatkan guru-guru setempat untuk memastikan keberlanjutan.: Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada partisipasi dan antusiasme siswa. Teramati peningkatan dalam kemampuan koordinasi, keseimbangan, kelincahan, dan kekuatan otot siswa. Selain itu, metode bermain berhasil menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang positif, mengurangi kecemasan, dan meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa. Guru-guru juga mendapatkan wawasan dan contoh praktis tentang metode pembelajaran jasmani yang inovatif, sehingga diharapkan dapat diterapkan secara berkelanjutan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini terbukti efektif sebagai sarana pembinaan keterampilan motorik dasar sekaligus menanamkan nilai-nilai sportivitas dan kerjasama pada siswa

Abstract

PRIMAGAMA merupakan bimbingan belajar bagi siswa-siswi SMA atau sederajatuntuk mencapai kelulusan dan dapat melanjutkan studinya keperguruan tinggi yangdikehendakinya. Banyaknya lembaga pendidikan yang bermunculan saat ini, menjadikan acuanbagi PRIMAGAMA untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan agar sesuai dengan harapankonsumen (siswa didik). Untuk Itu perlu dilakukan penilaian terhadap kualitas jasa pelayananpada LBB tersebut. Penilaian kualitas jasa pelayanan dimaksudkan untuk menentukan atributkualitas jasa berdasarkan pada tingkat kepentingan konsumen terhadap atribut kualitas jasatersebut dan tingkat kepuasan konsumen terhadap kualitas atribut jasa pelayanan tersebut.Metode Servperf dapat digunakan untuk memilah nilai kualitas jasa pelayanan sehingga dapatdigunakan untuk menentukan pioritas penanganannya.
