Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the optimization of production of bioethanol with a combination of coconut water, tween80 and NPK as nutrient Saccharomyces cerevisiae to produce ethanol using a fermentation technique Very High Gravity Fermentation. This research was conducted experiments with four treatments and measurement in duplicate. Combination of NPK levels are U1 (0.2%), U2 (0.4%), U3 (0.6%) and U4 (0.8%). Observations were made every 24 hours; covering sugar, ethanol content, the number of cells, and pH. Data were analyzed descriptively by using a tabular or graphical. The best treatment is a combination of U4 (NPK 0.8%) which resulted in the largest ethanol 11%. Keywords:Coconut water, tween80, NPK, Bioethanol, Very High Gravity Fermentation

Abstract

Liquid waste containing high levels of pollutants sago, so need to do processing of biological, physical and chemical.This research was to study the symbiotic system of a complex microorganisms contained in B-DECO3 as a decomposer agent, with the addition of photosynthetic microoalgae Chlorella sp as an oxygen producer in reducing organic loads of sago milling effluent. The method used in the experiment with completely randomized design (CRD) comprised of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were concentration variations of microorganisms B-DECO3 (0, 0.27, 0.55, 0.82 and 1.09 per cent v/v, respectively) with 800 ml/L (6.6 x 106 cell/ml) microalgae Chlorella sp. added up with waste sago milling effluent 1 liters of the liquid. Observations were made on day 0 and day to-7, except for the parameters pH, DO, and an abundance of cells is done every day. Data were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed the role of symbiotic mutualism can reduce levels of pollutants wastewater sago. The best treatment is the addition of bacterial decomposition P4 B-DECO3Chlorella sp 20 ml and 800 ml (abundance of 6.6 x 106 cells / mL). P4 treatment lowers the value of COD 90.29%, 82.74% BOD, TSS 84.52%, 82.85% Nitrate and Phosphate 98.66%, and increasing the pH value of 97.56%, 73.82% DO, and cell abundance 72.44% Chlorella sp.  Keywords: B-DECO3 microorganisms, Microalgae Chlorella sp, liquid waste sago

Abstract

Briquettes is one of the renewable energy alternatives that have uniformity of size, shape, density, and energy content. The purpose of this study was to examine the characteristics of briquettes consisting of a mixture of shells and midrib, and to determine the composition of the raw materials that can produce a briquettes with the best quality. The raw materials used were a mixture of shells and midrib with the proportion of 90%:10%, 80%: 20%%, 70%: 30%, 60%: 40%, and 50%: 50%. Types of tests performed on briquettes include crushing strength, moisture content, volatile matter, ash content, carbon bonded, and calorific value. The results of the tests showed briquettes crushing strength 3,54-6,07 kg/cm2, moisture content 3,24-4,14%, volatile matter 11,55-16,61%, ash content 4,94-5,23%, carbon bonded 74,01-80,25%, and calorific value 4181,04-6122,40 kal/g. The best quality of biopelet was in the percentage of shells and fronds was 80%: 20%.Keywords: Briquettes, palm shell, palm midrib, renewable energy

Abstract

This study aims to determine consumer characteristics, analyze consumer decision-making processes in purchasing, evaluate the importance and performance of marketing mix attributes, and determine consumer satisfaction with the marketing mix of pineapple chips produced by Kualu Nenas Village. Sampling uses Purposive sampling method. Data were analyzed using descriptive methods, Importance Performance Analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index. The results showed the consumer characteristics of pineapple chips in Pekanbaru City as follows: 73% female, the largest age group 26-31 years, 48% employment as private employees, 50% of undergraduate education, income above 4,500,000. The purpose of buying pineapple chips is for souvenirs because the food is typical of Riau with good taste. Only 44% of consumers seek information about brands before buying. The reason for choosing a place of purchase is the condition of a place that is comfortable and easily accessible. The attributes of pineapple chip that must be improved by the manufacturer are the attributes of the tester. The attributes that must be maintained so that consumers continue to buy pineapple chips are product taste, product color, health office permit, expiration date, halal label, hygiene quality, packaging contents, form integrity, affordability, accessible location, signpost name shop, visibility and comfort of the place. Attributes that according to consumers are not too important and their performance is low are information on the composition of raw materials, packaging design, competitive prices, product signboards and sales promotions. Attributes that have performed well but are not considered important are brand, product durability and store popularity. Consumer satisfaction of 82.03% means that consumers are satisfied.

Abstract

In order to encourage rubber agribusiness activities, farmers need adequate information and reliable sources of information to achieve their goals. To meet information needs, farmers develop communication networks between farmers and their actors. This research aims to describe the sociogram of the communication network of rubber farmers in self-help patterns,and analyze the relationship between farmer characteristics and communication networks.This research conducted in Batu Bersurat Village XIII Koto Kampar District. The method used in this research is the census method and the study respondents were taken as many as 42 farmers. The results of this research indicate that the structure of the communication network formed in rubber farmers approached the radial personal networkstructure .Based on the correlation test results indicate that the characteristics of rubber farmers related to locall centrality are, extent of land tenure, cosmopolity, intensity of counseling, and number of sources of information. Correlation test results indicate that the characteristics of rubber farmers related to globall centrality are level of education, extent of land tenure, cosmopolity, intensity of counseling, and number of sources of information.Correlation test results indicate that the characteristics of rubber farmers related to betwenness are extent of land tenure, cosmopolity, intensity of counseling, and number of sources of information.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the position of the product and the best original tempe chips attributes from various kinds of original tempe chips are used, such as Qtela Tempe Chips, Ayu Bersaudara Tempe Chips, N & R Tempe Chips, Puspa Malay Tempe Chips, Reza Snack Tempe Chips, Big One Chips, MAK Snack Tempe Chips, Winda Snack Tempe Chips. It aims to determine the level of consumer preference to a product. In addition there is still a lack of effort in developing products towards the manufacturer at this time. This research is conducted by mapping methods of internal and external preferences with objects of eight different product types. Sensory analysis used was hedonic and descriptive test. The results of cluster analysis of hedonic test and the main component analysis of the descriptive test were then analyzed by using the preference mapping technique, with the sensory attributes used in tempe chips products were greasy, oily, savory, bitter, salty, crispy, brittle, thick, soybean, rancid, From the results of the analysis conducted, the Qtela tempe chips products, Ayu Bersaudara tempe chips and Winda Snack tempe chips most favored by the panelists.keyword: Original Tempe Chips, AHC, PCA, Preference Mapping

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat kesukaan petani terhadap 8 jenis video penyuluhan komoditas cabai, serta mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis atribut yang mempengaruhi daya tarik video penyuluhan. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara sengaja dengan dasar pertimbangan tempat tersebut memiliki kelompoktani yang aktif di Desa Buluh Rampai. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari expert yang berjumlah 12 panelis yang digunakan untuk penilaian atribut dan 100 panelis petani pemula dan lanjutan untuk penilaian tingkat kesukaan terhadap video. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen sosial dengan delapan video, yaitu tentang budidaya tanaman cabai. Analisis sensori yang dilakukan adalah uji hedonik dan uji deskriptif.  Hasil analisis cluster (AHC) dari uji hedonik dan analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA) dari uji deskriptif selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik preference mapping. Video terbaik dari penelitian ini adalah video nomor 8 dengan tingkat kesukaan responden sebesar 86% dan memiliki karakteristik kisah cerita, transisi, audio, narasi, sound effect, backsound, movie, visual, warna dan durasi.

Abstract

Provinsi Riau merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang membuat program sentra produksi beras dalam menjaga ketersediaan pangan nasional, hal ini dilakukan karena dari tahun 2008-2012 mengalami defisit beras yang rata-rata hampir 248.315 ton setiap tahunnya. Dalam memenuhi kebutuhan beras regional Provinsi Riau sangat bergantung pasokan beras dari luar daerah seperti Sumatera Barat dan Sumatera Utara. Pada tahun 2009 Pemerintah Provinsi Riau meluncurkan program yang disebut dengan Operasi Pangan Riau Makmur (OPRM) dengan target pengurangan defisit beras pada akhir tahun 2013 sebesar 11,83 persen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi profil petani padi peserta program OPRM, menganalisis faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi produksi padi di Kabupaten Siak, dan menganalisis tingkat efisiensi teknis, efisiensi alokatif, dan efisiensi ekonomi usaha tani padi di Kabupaten Siak. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis fungsi produksi Cobbdouglas untuk menjawab tujuan pertama, fungsi produksi frontier dan fungsi ganda biaya perbatasan dengan pendekatan DEAP untuk tujuan kedua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan luas lahan, pupuk urea, pupuk organik, pestisida, kesesuaian lahan, program dan pendidikan mempengaruhi produksi secara signifikan. Sebagian besar petani peserta program OPRM dan bukan peserta program OPRM telah efisien secara teknis namun belum efisien secara alokatif dan ekonomis.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the best concentration of Tween80™  in the manufacture of bioethanol from coconut water condensed by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This study withincreasingthe urea and Tween80™ varying concentrations of this study conducted an experiment with four treatments and measurement in duplicate. Concentration of Tween80 ™ were T10 (0%), T2 (0.1%), T3 (0.2%) and T4 (0.3%). Observations were made every 24 hours; including ethanol content, sugar content and the number of cells. Data were analyzed descriptively by using a tabulation and graphs. The best treatment was a combination of T2 (urea 0.4 g / l and 0.1% Tween80™), which produced the largest ethanol 12%. Abstract

The research aimed to know the characteristics quality and sensory ice cream with the addition of different concentration of kombucha tea, as well as to know the best formulation that fulfill’s SNI (01-3713-1995). The research was conducted with five treatments and three replications. The treatments in this study were kombucha tea addition of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40%. Data were statistically analyzed by using analysis of variance and followed by duncan ‘s new multiple range test at level 5%. The result of analysis of variance showed that the addition of kombucha tea significantly affected total dissolved solid, fat level, sucrose level, and antioxidant but did not significantly affect protein level. Kombucha tea ice cream treatment selected from the tested parameters was the treatment T2 (addition of 20% kombucha tea). The ice cream obtained had a fat 15.58%, protein 3.72%, sucrose 10.37%, total solids 30.22%, antioxidants 56.48 ppm.Keywords: ice cream, kombucha tea, antioxidant.
