Abstract

Introduction: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a neuromusculoskeletal condition commonly experienced by pregnant women in the third trimester. This condition is caused by fluid retention, which causes swelling and compression of the nerve within the carpal tunnel. Hormonal fluctuations such as progesterone, estrogen, renin, and angiotensin during pregnancy contribute to swelling and compression of the median nerve. Symptoms resulting from median nerve compression include pain, numbness, and tingling sensations in the hand. These symptoms can reduce hand functional ability, interfere with daily activities, and decrease the quality of life of pregnant women. The management of CTS in pregnancy is limited in the use of innovative, safe, and effective non-pharmacological, physiotherapy-based interventions to address movement and hand function disorders. Neurodynamic exercise is a median nerve mobilization technique that alters nerve length in relation to surrounding structures and improves intraneural blood flow. This technique focuses on stretching methods that reduce neural tension and help restore nerve function. Neuromuscular taping (NMT) helps reduce fluid congestion, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, decrease excess heat, restore tissue homeostasis, and reduce inflammation and pain receptor hypersensitivity. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of neurodynamic exercise and neuromuscular taping as physiotherapy interventions on hand function in pregnant women with carpal tunnel syndrome. Methods: This study was a case study using a single-subject research design conducted on a third-trimester pregnant woman with CTS. The physiotherapy program was delivered six times over three weeks, from April 13 to April 29, 2025. Hand functional ability was evaluated using the Wrist–Hand Disability Index (WHDI). Results:After the physiotherapy intervention, the WHDI score decreased from 40% (moderate disability) before intervention to 18% (minimal disability) after intervention. Conclusion: Neurodynamic exercise combined with neuromuscular taping had a positive effect on hand functional ability in a pregnant woman with carpal tunnel syndrome.

Abstract

In order to advance knowledge, higher education has a duty to educate all facets of society, including the local population. Additionally, as advancing general welfare is a duty of higher education, these efforts can be carried out through fulfilling duties related to the tri-dharma of higher education, all of which are interconnected and cannot be separated from one another. One of these dharmas is community service, which is why LP2M UIN Mahmud Yunus followed this approach when performing research-based service. Prior study must be done to ensure that the service is modeled, structured, and evaluated in accordance with the needs of the aided community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the exhaust emissions of 100 CC motorcycle engines with variations of Nickel Alloy and Iridium spark plugs. As well as the use of BBA and BBK fuels at idle engine speed. This research method is experimental by testing carbon monoxide (CO), Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Oxygen (O2) using the Hesbon Analyzer HG-520 tool. The results of testing the use of Nickel Alloy spark plugs with BBA obtained a result of (CO) 3.13%, testing (HC) obtained 1580%, and (O2) obtained a value of 20.76%, while testing using Iridium spark plugs with BBA obtained a result of CO 1.01%, HC obtained 764 ppm, CO2 obtained 0% and O2 obtained 21.16%. The conclusion is that exhaust emissions in the Nickel Alloy and Iridium spark plug variation testing using alternative fuels, get better results (CO) and (HC) on Iridium spark plugs while O2 is better on Nickel Alloy spark plugs. In the BBK test, the results of CO and HC are the same, while O2 is better on Iridium spark plugs.

Abstract

Modifikasi Noken As merupakan salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan performa mesin dengan mengatur ulang durasi dan timing buka-tutup katup. Modifikasi Noken As bertujuan untuk meningkatkan performa mesin sepeda motor dengan mengatur durasi dan timing buka-tutup katup. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen, membandingkan performa mesin sebelum dan sesudah modifikasi Noken As. Noken As yang dimodifikasi berasal dari Noken As mentah yang dikurangin bubungannya, hingga tinggi bubungan 29,9 mm dan lebar bubungan 24 mm. Pengujian dilakukan menggunakan dynamometer untuk mengukur daya dan torsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan: daya meningkat dari 6,2 Hp pada 4298 rpm menjadi 9,9 Hp pada 3532 rpm, dan torsi meningkat dari 21,95 Nm pada 1704 rpm menjadi 29,91 Nm pada 2044 rpm. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah modifikasi Noken As dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan performa mesin, dengan peningkatan daya maksimal sebesar 3,7 Hp dan torsi maksimal sebesar 7,96 Nm dari standar.

Abstract

Dunia otomotif khususnya sepeda motor, berkembang pesat di masa-masa sekarang ini, mulai dari kerangka kelistrikan, kerangka pengapian, pengembangan motor, kerangka pendingin, yang mengalami pergantian peristiwa dan perubahan yang sangat besar dari tahun ke tahun. Kerangka pendingin pada sebuah mesin yang memiliki kemampuan untuk menyeimbangkan temperatur motor dalam kondisi ideal, kerangka pendingin memainkan peran penting dalam sebuah mesin, jika kerangka pendingin tidak bekerja seperti yang diharapkan maka menyebabkan mesin rusak sehingga mesin tidak bekerja seperti yang diharapkan. Berdasarkan latar belakang diatas dapat dirumuskan permasalahan yaitu bagaimana cara pemasangan Oil Cooler pada motor 150 cc dan bagaimana pengaruh temperatur mesin, dan bahan bakar, sebelum dan setelah dilakukan modifikasi penambahan oil cooler. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan membandingkan bagaimana pengaruh temperatur mesin, dan bahan bakar, sebelum dan setelah dilakukan modifikasi penambahan oil cooler. Pemasangan Oil Cooler pada sepeda motor 150 cc berpengaruh terhadap temperatur oli mesin, dan bahan bakar yang mana bisa membuat temperatur mesin lebih dingin dari sebelum pemasangan oil cooler. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dari pengujian dapat disimpulkan bahwa oil cooler memiliki pengaruh terhadap temperatur mesin, misalnya pada pada RPM 5000 temperatur suhu sebelum pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan 840C, setelah pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan 740C. Pada RPM 5500 temperatur suhu sebelum pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan 980C, sedangkan setelah pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan temperatur suhu sebesar 860C. Pada RPM 6000 temperatur suhu sebelum pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan 1180C, sedangkan setelah pemasangan oil cooler didapatkan terperatur suhu 980C., ini membuktikan bahwa oil cooler dapat menurunkan temperatur mesin. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, konsumsi bahan bakar juga di uji dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap temperatur dan transmisi, karena temperatur tidak menentukan sedikit banyaknya bahan bakar yg masuk ke ruang bakar, melainkan berpengaruh terhadap rpm, semakin tinggi rpm maka bahan bakar yg masuk ke ruang bakar semakin banyak.

Abstract

The research was conducted to study the biodegradation capability on palm oil sludge substrate by Phanerochaete  chrysosporium   with increasing urea  as  nitrogen  source. The  experiment was  designed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications, namely : U-0 = 0,0 %  Urea,    U-1=      0,5  %  Urea,    U-2  =  1,0  %  Urea,    U-3  =  1,5  %  Urea  and  U-4  =  2,0  %  Urea. The observed variables were the amount of spore, C/N ratio, pH, crude fiber, crude protein, lignin, cellulose and enzyme activities. The result of this study showed that added urea were significantly (P<0.01) crude fiber, crude protein, lignin, cellulose and enzyme activities. The use of urea on the first level amounting to  1.5  %  in palm  oil  sludge  can  help  Phanerochaete  chrysosporium   to  reduce  crude  fiber to (30,71%),  lignin (29.89  %),  cellulose (36.42  %) and it  can  increase  the  content  of crude  protein    to    (34.50  %), reduction sugar and enzyme activities.

Abstract

This program was implemented in the Serumpun Livestock Group at Sungai Nipah Beach, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province. The activity aimed to introduce the processing method of brown seaweed (Turbinaria murayana) before its incorporation into the diet of the Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan chicken (KUB). The methods employed included educational outreach, demonstrations, and hands-on training sessions. The outreach component covered the potential of Turbinaria murayana as an alternative feed ingredient and the processing stages from harvesting to ready-to-use feed. The training sessions demonstrated processing techniques, including freshwater soaking, sun-drying, and mechanical grinding. This activity was attended by 20 participants from the livestock group, consisting of 15 women and five men. The results showed an 85% improvement in participants' knowledge and skills in utilizing and processing Turbinaria murayana as a feed ingredient for KUB chickens. Farmers gained a better understanding of the nutritional content and potential of Turbinaria murayana, as well as effective processing methods to optimize its use in feed formulations. In conclusion, the program successfully enhanced farmers' understanding and practical skills in utilizing Turbinaria murayana seaweed as a feed ingredient for KUB chickens. It also reduced feed costs and supported the development of poultry feeds that were more economical than conventional ingredients such as ground corn, rice bran, and fish meal.
