Abstract

This research was conducted to measure the student's ability to understand idiomatic expressions and to find out the student’s difficulty in understanding idiomatic expressions. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method as the research methodology. The population in this study is the fourth-semester students in the English education department, faculty of teacher, training, and education of Muhammadiyah University of Sidenreng Rappang, and the sample in this study is 29 students (4 male students and 25 female) fourth semester, English department, faculties of teacher, training, and education of Muhammadiyah University of Sidenreng Rappang. The data collection methods used in this research are written test, interview, and recorder. A written test was chosen to measure students'' ability to identify idiomatic expressions, interviews were used to find out the student’s difficulty in understanding idiomatic expressions, and the recorder were used to record the interview process and also as data documentation. The data obtained from the test will be processed with a scoring technique and the data obtained from the interview will be processed by the descriptive analysis method. As the result of the study, the written test shows that 2 students categorized on a very good level, 7 on Good, 5 on Average, 3 on Poor, and 3 on very poor, while the interview shows that as many as 62% of respondents have difficulty because they lack vocabulary, 19% of respondents have difficulty understanding idioms based on their language style, and 33% of respondents have difficulty understanding idioms.

Abstract

Analyzing data is an activity of thinking and recognizing data which is then described so that it becomes component signs. Regarding signs, in studying English several sciences need to be studied, one of which is semiotics. Semiotics is the study of signs contained in objects that have specific meanings. In this study the researcher wanted to analyze song from Band Queen, namely Bohemian Rhapsody, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is a song with various genre transitions, modulations, and tempos, changes to several genres and modulations that occur repeatedly in the song are closely related to how the structure is of the song is contained in it. This song has a hidden meaning and message, so the researcher wants to examine this song by using the theory from Roland Barthes which discusses connotation, denotation, and myth which are in line with the researcher's wishes. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. In this study, the researcher collected primary data obtained from the lyrics of the Bohemian Rhapsody song. This data includes themes, schemes, word meanings, and word stress in the lyrics of the Bohemian Rhapsody song. After the data were categorized according to Roland Barthes' theory, the data were then analyzed descriptively to answer this research question. After that, the researcher conducted a literature study by looking for references through literature both from books, document journals, and other related sources and other topics relevant to this research. The results of the study show that there are 7 parts of the stanza which are then interpreted using the Roland Barthes method, where almost every stanza discusses the feeling of regret experienced by the songwriter.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka at Sekolah Penggerak and to analyze the obstacles faced in the of Kurikulum Merdeka at Sekolah Penggerak. Sekolah Penggerak in this research were SDN 2 Timoreng Panua and SDN 2 Sereang and the respondents were the principal and 2 learning committees in each school. So in total there are 6 respondents. The data collection procedure uses observation and interview that is semi-interview. This research uses qualitative methods as a research methodolgy. The implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka at SDN 2 Timoreng Panua and SDN 2 Sereang has entered its second year of implementation. Schools have begun to adapt to this new curriculum. The preparation of the KOSP has been carried out since the beginning of the Kurikulum Merdeka implementation. Then, it follows the making of teaching modules and the implementation of assessments. Because it is a new thing, of course there are obstacles faced by the school in its implementation. Especially at the beginning of the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka due to the lack of knowledge regarding the implementation of this Kurikulum Merdeka. Abstract

Abstract

Reading aloud is frequently taught to junior high school students as a way of improving their English, particularly in the 7th grade. These factors make it imperative to perform research on creating an android-based reader digital application since technology could lead to engaging and effective teaching and learning methods. The study's objectives are to learn more about the process of creating an android-based reader digital application as a tool for teaching reading aloud to 7th grade students at SMPN 2 Sidrap and to determine whether such an application is practical. Research and Development (R&D) process by Borg and Gall, which included 10 steps, was utilized to develop the product. And because there is a limited amount of time and the product can only be developed in seven processes, it has been condensed to seven. the questionnaire-based observation. a method for gathering information from numerous validator expertise. Student survey data are used to determine effectiveness. The survey's findings reveal that the materials expert's overall score was 93.8% and that media experts' display layout and design received a score of 90%. 85% of the information from a poll of 30 students was collected. The outcome demonstrates that both teachers and students are in favor of using applications to aid in the acquisition of English. The pupils exhibit an interest in using the software as a virtual teacher assistant and feel more driven to study English using it.

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian bertujuan untuk memaparkan Pengaruh Pengembangan Karir dan Gaya kepemimpinan Terhadap Kinerja di Mediasi Motivasi Pegawai Kantor Kelurahan di Kecamatan Mamajang Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan metode kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan di 13 Kelurahan pada Kecamatan Mamajang Kota Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Dengan jangka waktu penelitian dari bulan Februari sampai dengan Juni Tahun 2023. sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan seluruh jumlah populasi untuk digunakan sebagai responden sebanyak 112 Pegawai ASN dari 13 Kelurahan yang ada di Kecamatan Mamajang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, adalah teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan Studi Kepustakaan (Library Research), Studi Lapangan (Field Research) di lakukan dengan cara : Wawancara,Kuesioner (Angket), Dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan Pengembangan karir berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Motivasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil uji dimana variabel Pengembangan Karir (X1) menunjukkan Thitung sebesar 3,587 sementara itu nilai Ttabel = 1,658, maka Thitung > Ttabel dengan nilai signifikansi yaitu 0.000 < 0.05. Gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Motivasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil uji dimana Gaya Kepemimpinan (X2) dengan nilai Thitung = 2,180 dan nilai Ttabel = 1,658 maka nilai Thitung >Ttabel dengan nilai signifikansi yaitu 0.031 < 0.05.

Abstract

This research uses the descriptive qualitative method as the research methodology. This research was conducted to know what is the most common social media influence student’s English-Speaking ability and how does social media influence student English speaking ability. The population in this research were the students of Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka Inbound State University of Malang in this research were 10 students. The data collection method used in this research was an interview. The results shown that the most social media that influence students to improve their speaking ability is YouTube. Social can influence the students to improve their speaking ability because in social media there are so many contents that provide them to learn English especially to improve their speaking ability such as video, picture, photo, etc.

Abstract

Kelurahan Balleangin merupakan salah lokasi perburuan lebah hutan di kaki Gunung Bulusaraung Kabupaten Pangkep. Perburuan dan pemanenan madu lebah hutan masih menggunakan teknik pengasapan dan pemanenan semua sisiran sarang lebah hutan. Teknik perburuan dan panen madu yang demikian akan dapat mengancam kelestarian lebah hutan. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini mulai dari survei lokasi, identifikasi permasalahan masyarakat dengan hutan dan hasil hutan bukan kayu berupa lebah hutan serta analisis solusi pemecahan masalah. Masyarakat melakukan perburuan lebah hutan dengan cara berkelompok yang umumnya terdiri 3 orang dan berusia produktif di bawah 55 tahun. Dua hal yang selalu menjadi ancaman kelestarian lebah dan habitatnya, yaitu pertama cara mengusir lebah masih menggunakan pengasapan berupa obor kemudian ditambatkan pada tiang panjang sesuai ketinggian sarang lebah dan kedua adalah cara panen madu dengan mengambil semua sisiran sarang yang melekat di dahan pohon. Konsep yang ditawarkan adalah mengganti pengasapan dengan sapu lebah dan panen hanya bagian sisiran sarang berisi madu serta informasi model semi budidaya lebah hutan cara tikung.

Abstract

Berkembangnya industri kreatif dengan basis serat alam memberikan peluang bagi PKM untuk menggembangkan produk-produk berbasis serat alam. Salah satu serat yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan adalah serat bambu, serta bambu mempunyai sifat karakteristik tersendiri jika dibandingkan dengan serat lainnya. Permasalahan yang ada adalah belum adanya teknologi atau cara pengolahan bambu untuk diperoleh seratnya, abik dari bambu bekas atau dari bambu bau. Pemilihan metode-metode sederhana dalam cara pengolahan bambu menjadi serta bambu menjadi alternatif solusi selain faktor wawasan lingkungan agar menjadi daya saing tersendiri dari produk-produk berbasis serat bambu dari PKM. Dari hasil penelitian metode sederhana dan murah, serta menggunakan soda api berkadar rendah dapat digunakan untuk mengolah bambu bekas atau batu menjadi serat bambu yang mantinya digunakan sebagai bahan baku utama dalam industri kreatif di PKM dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat.
