Abstract

Kelurahan Balleangin merupakan salah lokasi perburuan lebah hutan di kaki Gunung Bulusaraung Kabupaten Pangkep. Perburuan dan pemanenan madu lebah hutan masih menggunakan teknik pengasapan dan pemanenan semua sisiran sarang lebah hutan. Teknik perburuan dan panen madu yang demikian akan dapat mengancam kelestarian lebah hutan. Metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan ini mulai dari survei lokasi, identifikasi permasalahan masyarakat dengan hutan dan hasil hutan bukan kayu berupa lebah hutan serta analisis solusi pemecahan masalah. Masyarakat melakukan perburuan lebah hutan dengan cara berkelompok yang umumnya terdiri 3 orang dan berusia produktif di bawah 55 tahun. Dua hal yang selalu menjadi ancaman kelestarian lebah dan habitatnya, yaitu pertama cara mengusir lebah masih menggunakan pengasapan berupa obor kemudian ditambatkan pada tiang panjang sesuai ketinggian sarang lebah dan kedua adalah cara panen madu dengan mengambil semua sisiran sarang yang melekat di dahan pohon. Konsep yang ditawarkan adalah mengganti pengasapan dengan sapu lebah dan panen hanya bagian sisiran sarang berisi madu serta informasi model semi budidaya lebah hutan cara tikung.

Abstract

Berkembangnya industri kreatif dengan basis serat alam memberikan peluang bagi PKM untuk menggembangkan produk-produk berbasis serat alam. Salah satu serat yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan adalah serat bambu, serta bambu mempunyai sifat karakteristik tersendiri jika dibandingkan dengan serat lainnya. Permasalahan yang ada adalah belum adanya teknologi atau cara pengolahan bambu untuk diperoleh seratnya, abik dari bambu bekas atau dari bambu bau. Pemilihan metode-metode sederhana dalam cara pengolahan bambu menjadi serta bambu menjadi alternatif solusi selain faktor wawasan lingkungan agar menjadi daya saing tersendiri dari produk-produk berbasis serat bambu dari PKM. Dari hasil penelitian metode sederhana dan murah, serta menggunakan soda api berkadar rendah dapat digunakan untuk mengolah bambu bekas atau batu menjadi serat bambu yang mantinya digunakan sebagai bahan baku utama dalam industri kreatif di PKM dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat.

Abstract

The aims of this article is to describe that total immersion program in teaching English can improve students oral capability. This article is made from research result which used pre-test and post-test design. The population of the article is the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang there are two classes. The writer applied random technique that took one of the two classes and sample of this article was IX.2 class with 20 students. The instrument of this article was speaking test which would be administered in pre-test and post-test. The pre-test would be used to find the prior knowledge of oral capability, while post-test would be used to find oral capability achievement after treatment is given. The result of this article showed that total immersion program was effective to improve oral capability at the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang especially IX.2 class. It could be proved from their mean score in post-test (56.95) was higher than their mean score in pre-test (48.50), and the t-test value (10.934) was greater than t-table (a = 0.05; df= 9; t table = 2.262, this means that H1 was accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the function of using politeness as an imperative in academic interaction. The deep data collection study was done through three techniques: recording, observation, and interviews. The in-depth data study analyzed in this research is in the form of recorded data from lecturers' and students' speeches. The selected data is the result of lecturers' speeches to students and students' speeches to lecturers in lectures which contain the imperative function of politeness. Note data fields in the form of recorded data fields descriptive and reflective. In addition, research data can be obtained from generation in a way creative intuition language researcher. The results of the research show that the use of imperative politeness functions by lecturers towards students includes: (1) commanding function, (2) requesting function, (3) prohibiting function, (4) inviting function, (5) suggesting function, (6) expecting function, (7) encouraging function, and (8) urging function. Use function politeness, which is imperative from student to lecturer in academic interaction, includes (1) function application and (2) function request. Politeness markers used to represent the function of imperative politeness in academic interaction include (1) linguistic politeness markers, (2) persona markers, and (3) informal diction markers. The study reveals that lecturers with power in the classroom often consider linguistic politeness in speaking, allowing students to express their speech the way the lecturer speaks. However, this can lead to a lack of harmony between lecturers and students, and may not set an example for students in speaking.

Abstract

The objectives of the article were to find out: (1) To find out whether or not phonetic symbols increase pronunciation ability at the second semester students of University of Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. (2) To find out whether or not the students interested in the use of phonetic symbols in learning pronunciation at the second semester students of University of Muhammadiy ah SidenrengRappang. The researcher applied quasi experimental method using two groups namely an experimental and a control group. Both of groups were given pretest and posttest. The article was conducted at English Department of University of Muhammadiyah Rappang academic year 2019/2020. The researcher applied cluster sampling technique and the second semester is taken as the sample of the research with total numbers 22 students. This article was divided the number of sampling into to group namely Group A and B, where the group A and B consisted 11 students. The students’ result obtained and stated in the research, the researcher used t-test in inferential statistic through SPSS 21.0 program for Windows evaluation version to test the hypothesis. In pre-test, the researcher found that the t-test value was lower than the t-table (0.487 < 2.021). While in relation to the finding of post-test, the t-test value was higher than the t-table (3.948> 2.086). The result of the findings also showed that the students had high interest on the application of Phonetics Symbol materials in English pronunciation. It was proved by the mean score of the questionnaire was 85.91 which was classified into strongly interested category.

Abstract

This Article aims to describe whether there is the interplay of self confidance and communicative competence of junior high school where the students of SMP 9 Pinrang is as place to apply research. This research uses cluster sumpling method and oral test. The population in this research is the students of class VII SMPN 9 Pinrang. The total population is 104 students. The sample used is class VIIL.1 amounted to 28 students. The method used in the assessment of speech is an oral test. Result of research by using Pearson Product Moment obtained r value count 0,700 and with value of product r product moment product with N = 28 found 0,478 at significant level 1% and found 0,374 at level signifikan5%. And to know the level of product moment correlation then coefficient 0.61-0.80 = substantial.Thus it can be interpreted to the rxy that between variable X and variable Y. It can be seen on the analysis result that is: 0,700> 0,478 (5%) and 0,700 0,374 (1%) with d.b:28. This means Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. The conclusion in this study is there is a significant relationship between student self-confidence and speaking ability of eight-year students SMPN 9 Pinrang.

Abstract

The Article aim is to describe (1) whether or not the use of interactive multimedia improve students reading comprehension in the Eighth-Grade of SMP Negeri 4 Panca Rijang and (2) whether or not the use of interactive multimedia intereststudents’in learning reading comprehension in the Eighth-Grade of SMP Negeri 4 Panca Rijang. This research employed mixed method design that applied experimental and control group. The population of the research was the Eighth Grad estudents of SMP Negeri4 Panca Rijang. Total number of population was 82students and two classes of them were taken as sample by using cluster sampling technique, class VIII.C as experimental group and class VIII.D as control group. The number of each class was 20 students so the total sample of the research was 40 students. The result of data analysis showed that there was significant difference between achievement of the students who used interactive multimedia and those who did not use interactive multimedia (conventional technique) in reading comprehension. It was proved by the mean score of experimental group was higher than control group in post-test (59.35>46.75). Furthermore, the result of the t-test value (3.581) was greater than t-table (α = 0.05;df = 38; t-table = 2.021) which means that H1 was accepted. The data analysis of questionnaire showed that the students had high interest toward the use of interactive multimedia in reading comprehension. It was supported by 4 students (20%) who were strongly interested, 14 students (70%) who were interested and 2 students (10%) who were moderate. The mean score of students’ answers in questionnaire (79.55) was classified as interested category.Based on the data analysis, the researcher concluded that: (1)the application of interactive multimedia enhanced the students’ ability in reading comprehension; (2) the application of interactive multimedia strategy in reading comprehension was interesting for the students.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the most frequent errors students make in writing recount texts. This study used a descriptive method with quantitative data analysis techniques to answer the questions posed. The scope of this research is limited to the grammatical analysis and writing mechanism of the components of the fourth recount text written by third year students of UMS Rappang. These errors are classified into six categories: errors in the use of verb forms; thr use of the article; use of prepositions; noun pluralization; use of pronouns; use of conjunctions. The findings of the study showed that the most frequent errors students made were in the use of verb forms, punctuation marks, prepositions, nouns, articles and pronouns. It can be concluded that students have not mastered grammar well. They face many problems in English in general and in writing English in particular.

Abstract

This research uses the qualitative method as the research methodology. This research was conducted to know what How are students ability to apologize and How are the apology strategies of students at the Islamic boarding school.The population in this research were the students of Muhammadiyah boarding school Rappang in this research were 6 students dan 2 Teachers. The data collection method used in this research was an interview. The results showed that most of the Muhammadiyah boarding school Rappang students apologized by addressing the person directly. and they have different strategies in apologizing. Several strategies to apologize to friends that can be done are Express an apology directly, apologize by giving an explanation, apologize by saying responsibility, apologize by offering a fix, and apologize by promising not to do it again.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to know the anxiety of the lecturers and the learners foreign language anxiety in E- learning interaction , The subjects of this study were students of muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang University consisting 21 students as a sample from fourth semester of English departement and 5 English lecturers of muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang University. The qualitative research method was used in this study. Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. Based on the results of the questionnaire and interviews with subjects, the factors of students' anxiety in speaking English are classified into three major types of anxiety, namely test anxiety, communicative apprehension, and fear of negative evaluation.
