Abstract

The arch of the foot is a biomechanical structural element that can affect the physical performance of athletes in sports that require dynamic movements such as soccer. The arch of the foot, both normal and flat, contributes to the efficiency of movement and load distribution when running, jumping, and changing direction suddenly. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the differences in agility performance and vertical leg muscle explosive power in regional-level soccer players based on variations in the shape of the arch of the foot, namely normal and flat. The method used is an observational study involving regional-level soccer players aged 19–22 years who have participated in regional-level competitions. Agility measurements were carried out using an 8×5 meter back and forth running test, while vertical jumping ability was assessed through a vertical jump test using the Vertec tool. The results of the study with the t-test showed that there was no significant difference between the normal and flat-footed groups in either the agility variable (p = 0.141) or the vertical jump (p = 0.121). The conclusion of this study shows that there is no significant difference between regional level soccer players with normal and flat foot arch types in terms of agility and vertical jumping ability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the use of SE-TG (Sport Education Model-Traditional Games) used in physical education learning at SMK 45 Lembang on Self-Eficacy. The research methodology used is Experimental Designs with Random Assignment sampling. The population in this study were 10 grade XI students of SMK 45 Lembang, totaling 300 people. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling technique, so that 60 students were randomly taken and divided into two groups, where 30 students studied with SE-TG and 30 students studied with the conventional model. The results showed that in the Experimental group, the t-value -4.271, P Value 0.000 and in the control group, the t-value -0.410, P Value 0.681. This means that there was an increase in Self-Eficacy in the experimental group and there was no increase in Self-Eficacy in the control group. The results of the difference test show that for the Self-Eficacy variable, the Z value is -3.190 with P Value 0.001. This means that SE-TG learning has a better influence on Self-Eficacy than the Conventional Model of students at SMK 45 Lembang. For further research, it is very interesting if the concept of the Sport Education Model in collaboration with Traditional Games (SE-TG) can be applied to other physical education materials such as athletics, small ball games, gymnastics and games in the concept of movement (locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative) so that the research results from this concept become more complete.

Abstract

Physical activity during adolescence plays a vital role in supporting optimal physical and mental development. This study aimed to assess physical activity levels and sedentary behavior among junior high school students in Thousand Islands regency of Jakarta, Indonesia. The research involved 215 students from grades VII and VIII, consisting of 104 males and 109 females. Physical activity levels were assessed using a modified version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) tailored for adolescents. The results indicated that the majority of students on both islands demonstrated moderate to high levels of physical activity, with a relatively low prevalence of sedentary behavior. These findings suggest that the students’ engagement in active routines is influenced by the geographic and socio-cultural characteristics of their island environment, which promote outdoor and communal activities. However, a small portion of students reported low activity levels, emphasizing the need for context-sensitive interventions to sustain and enhance active behaviors. This study highlights the importance of integrating localized health promotion strategies to prevent the long- term risks of obesity, metabolic disorders, and mental health challenges. The results serve as a valuable reference for health policymakers and educators in designing effective physical activity programs for youth in remote and coastal communities. Abstract

The basic movement of throwing and catching is one of the fundamental motor skills that must be mastered by students at the Elementary School level . This study aims to develop a flash card-based learning model for basic throwing and catching movements for fifth-grade elementary school students. This study uses the Research and Development (RnD) method that refers to the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) by involving 3 people as validators and 60 fifth-grade students as samples. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations and tests. The results of the study showed that 21 models were considered feasible and able to improve the learning of basic throwing and catching movements in fifth-grade elementary school students as indicated by the results of the N-Gain Score test which was quite effective and the t-test with a sig. value of 0.00 <0.05 which showed a significant increase in learning basic throwing and catching movements based on flash cards in fifth-grade elementary school students. The recommendation in this study is that the throwing and catching activity can be designed with interesting variations, providing space for active student participation, and utilizing examples that are relevant to students' lives.
