Abstract

Tingkat literasi digital mahasiswa, khususnya dalam konteks penggunaan aplikasi berbasis kimia, masih tergolong rendah, meskipun akses terhadap teknologi sudah cukup tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi Chemscatch melalui pelatihan interaktif berbasis experiential learning. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di Jurusan Kimia FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar pada Februari 2025 dengan peserta sebanyak 30 mahasiswa Kimia angkatan 2023. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup ceramah interaktif, demonstrasi fitur aplikasi, praktik langsung, dan evaluasi menggunakan pre-test dan post-test. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas peserta berhasil memahami dan menggunakan fitur-fitur utama Chemscatch seperti pembuatan struktur molekul, penyusunan reaksi kimia, pengoptimalan bentuk molekul, dan ekspor data visual. Sebanyak 85% peserta mengalami peningkatan skor keterampilan pasca pelatihan, dan 90% menyatakan puas terhadap metode dan materi yang diberikan. Temuan ini mendukung teori experiential learning Kolb yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran melalui pengalaman langsung lebih efektif dalam menanamkan keterampilan praktis. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan terhadap peningkatan literasi digital berbasis keilmuan dan kesiapan mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan pendidikan dan profesi di era digital

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Gimkit learning media in  discovery learning model on the conceptual understanding of class XI students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar on  material of solubility and solubility product in 2023/2024 using quasi-experimental and posttest only control group design. Population includes all class XI students with simple random sampling. XI Kimia 1 (24 students) as experimental group, while XI Kimia 3 (35 students) as control group. Independent variables use Gimkit in discovery learning and discovery learning model without Gimkit, while dependent variable is conceptual understanding as measured through cognitive learning outcomes. Instrument uses a learning outcome test. The results of descriptive analysis that average learning outcomes of experimental group are 82.87 higher than control group 78.7. Inferential analysis using Mann-Whitney Test shows Zcount> Ztable (2.00> 1.64), meaning that Gimkit in discovery learning affects students' conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pada akhir tahun 2019 menjadi awal munculnya Covid-19 yang menuntut masyarakat dunia untuk memperhatikan pola hidup bersih dan sehat. Adapun langkah protokol kesehatan yang perlu diperhatikan adalah dengan memakai masker dan senantiasa menjaga kebersihan. Salah satu hal yang wajib untuk disiapkan saat akan keluar rumah adalah hand sanitizer. Pada kegiatan PKM ini telah dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan hand sanitizer berbahan dasar daun sirih. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah Kelompok PKK yang berlokasi di Kelurahan Samata Kecamatan Somba Opu Kabupaten Gowa. Kegiatan PKM ini dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu, peyuluhan terkait kandungan bahan alam yang terkandung dalam daun sirih, tahap kedua meliputi peragaan (demonstrasi) pembuatan hand sanitizer berbahan dasar daun sirih, dan dilanjutkan dengan tahap praktek pembuatan hand sanitizer oleh tim bersama dengan mitra. Setelah mengikuti kegiatan ini, seluruh anggota kelompok PKK Kelurahan Samata mampu mengolah daun sirih menjadi hand sanitizer alami. Kata kunci: Hand sanitizer, daun Sirih, Covid-19.

Abstract

Various studies have been conducted to examine the effectiveness of character education in various contexts, including schools, families, and communities. However, as the scope of studies on character education has expanded, there is a need to understand how research trends in character education have developed over time. This study aims to analyse bibliometric trends in character education variables using data from scientific publications available in academic databases. This study uses a qualitative approach by combining bibliometric methods and systematic literature reviews (SLR) to analyse research trends and understand the importance of character education in learning. The results show that character education plays a crucial role in shaping students' morals and ethics from an early age through the support of the curriculum, schools, families, and communities, as well as the application of cultural values. Character education is an important aspect in the formation of individual personality. Character education can serve as a means of building environmental awareness among learners. Variables closely related to character education include Character Strengths, Virtue Ethics, Positive Education, Critical Thinking, Affective and Social Outcomes, Environmental Consciousness.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas dan kompetensi mahasiswa Program Studi Kimia FMIPA Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) dalam menggunakan perangkat lunak simulasi molecular docking, khususnya metode PLANTS (Protein-Ligand ANT System). Molecular docking merupakan salah satu pendekatan komputasi yang penting dalam bidang kimia medisinal dan desain obat, yang memungkinkan prediksi interaksi antara ligan dan reseptor protein. Dalam kegiatan ini, mahasiswa diberikan pelatihan intensif mengenai dasar-dasar teori docking, instalasi dan penggunaan software PLANTS, serta interpretasi hasil docking untuk mendukung penelitian atau tugas akhir mahasiswa program studi kimia. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu mengoperasikan software PLANTS secara mandiri dan memahami penerapannya dalam konteks penelitian kimia. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi fondasi keterampilan riset berbasis komputasi yang berguna dalam menunjang tugas akhir maupun penelitian lanjutan.

Abstract

This research is a quasi-experimental research that aims to determine the effect of using themethod mind mapping in the learning model POGIL on the learning outcomes of students in class XI MIA MA DDI Cambalagi Maros on the subject matter of buffer solution. This research was carried out in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year in March in class XI MIA MA DDI Cambalagi Maros. Maros Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The population in this study were students of class XI MIA MA DDI Cambalagi Maros which consisted of six classes. The sampling technique was carried out using a simple random sampling technique. Class XI MIA 1 as the experimental class and class XI MIA 2 as the control class, each of which is 28 people. Data was collected by giving posttest to the experimental class and the control class. This study uses descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results of statistical analysis showed that the average learning outcomes of the experimental class were 74.24, which was higher than the control class, which was 45.8. The results of inferential statistical analysis on student learning outcomes showed that the experimental class and control class data came from a homogeneous population but not normally distributed so that the hypothesis test used was thetest Mann-Whitney with = 0.05 obtained Zcount > Ztable (6 ,06 > 1.64). With this, it can be concluded that there is an effect of using themethod mind mapping in themodel process oriented guided inquiry learning on the learning outcomes of class XI MIA MA DDI Cambalagi Maros students on the buffer solution material. Abstract

Environmental pollution from dye waste is one of the environmental problems that is of concern today. One method that is effective, reliable, and does not require a large cost is photodegradation. In this study, a TiO2/porous ceramic (TiO2/PC) photocatalyst was used which was synthesized by the sol-gel coating method. The resulting photocatalyst was then characterized using XRF, XRD, SEM, and SAA which were then applied to the photodegradation process of methyl orange (MO) dyestuffs. Optimization of photodegradation conditions of MO dyes using porous TiO2/PC catalysts was carried out using the Response Surface Methodology (RSM) method by Central Composite Design (CCD). The characterization results showed that the TiO2 phase was in the rutile phase with a level of 10.35%. The resulting photocatalyst has pores on the surface covered by TiO2 with a shrinking pore volume after impregnation from 0.076637 cm3/g to 0.064943 cm3/g with an average pore diameter from 4.51187 nm to 4.49999 nm. The optimal condition of degradation of MO dye occurred at pH 6, an initial concentration of 25 mg/L for 120 minutes, with a percentage of degradation of 89.54% and can be used up to four cycles. Thus, TiO2/PC photocatalysts have the potential to be used in the process of processing MO dye waste.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media Ahaslides pada model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 2 Toraja Utara materi pokok hidrokarbon. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMAN 2 Toraja Utara yang terdiri dari 8 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak, sehingga yang menjadi kelompok eksperimen adalah peserta didik kelas XI IPA 1 yang berjumlah 36 orang dan kelompok kontrol adalah kelas XI IPA 3 yang berjumlah 35 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara pemberian posttest di akhir pertemuan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Analisis deskriptif diperoleh rata-rata pada kelompok eksperimen adalah 94,91 dan pada kelompok kontrol adalah 81,7. Analisis inferensial menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, diperoleh nilai Ⱬhitung > Ⱬtabel pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh media Ahaslides pada Model Discovery Learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMAN 2 Toraja Utara pada materi pokok hidrokarbon.

Abstract

Profiling Self-Regulated Learning and ICT Utilization among Chemistry Education Students in the Digital Era. In the digital era, chemistry education faces dual challenges: fostering students’ self-regulated learning (SRL) while optimizing the use of information and communication technology (ICT). This study aims to profile the levels of SRL and the extent of ICT utilization among chemistry education students, providing insights into how both aspects intersect in supporting academic success. A descriptive quantitative design was employed, involving 26 third-year chemistry education students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. Data were collected through two instruments: an SRL questionnaire covering dimensions of goal setting, planning, time management, learning strategies, self-monitoring, motivation, and self-reflection, and an ICT utilization questionnaire addressing access to digital resources, use of learning applications, participation in online discussions, digital collaboration, and creativity in ICT-supported chemistry learning. Responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis of open-ended items. The results revealed that students’ SRL abilities ranged from moderate to high, with notable strengths in goal setting, planning, and reflection, but persistent challenges in time management and independent study. In contrast, ICT utilization was consistently high across all dimensions, showing strong reliance on digital resources and collaborative tools. A comparative analysis indicated that students rely more on external ICT support than on internal self-regulatory strategies. The study concludes that while ICT integration in learning is robust, strengthening SRL remains essential to balance technology use with sustainable learning autonomy. These findings suggest the need for instructional designs that deliberately embed SRL-enhancing components into ICT-based learning, aligning with the demands of the digital era and the pursuit of quality education
