Abstract

The Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic field is a component of the electromagnetic wave spectrum with a frequency of <300 Hz. This research is an experimental study with the aim of examining the effect of exposure to Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) magnetic fields on the mass of chili plants (Capsicum annum L). Data collection techniques used are direct measurements. The results showed that chilli seeds exposed to a 300µT ELF magnetic field for 30 minutes gave a fresher and drier mass than the other samples. The use of a 30-minute duration ELF 300µT magnetic field on chili seeds gave better results for fresh and dry mass of chili plants.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of the magnetic field intensity ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) is essentially an attempt to prevent the impact of disease risks posed by electromagnetic field radiation. Measuring instrument used to measure the magnetic field intensity EMF 827 is capable of measuring magnetic fields up to 2000 μT. The results of the intensity of exposure to magnetic fields measured by variations in distance of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm. The distance is selected because the distance is the distance that allows direct interaction with the magnetic field source. Issues to be studied are comparative intensity of the magnetic field around the electronic equipment with natural magnetic field and the magnetic field distribution around the electronic equipment with a power ≥ 1000 W. Results of comparative data are analyzed using One-Way ANOVA aided by SPSS 23 and presented in the profile / contour Surfer application assisted version 11. Abstract

The current study is based on the needs of human life that cannot be separated from the role of electricity. This is why the demand for electricity is getting increased, so it requires the construction of transmission channels, one of them is SUTT. Without realizing it, the channel emits magnetic field. The exposure to magnetic field generated by SUTT has extremely low frequency since the rate commonly used in Indonesia is 50 Hz. The purpose of the current study was to find out the distribution pattern of magnetic field radiation intensity below SUTT 150 kV and the influence of roof types to the decrease of ELF magnetic field intensity by SUTT 150 kV. The study design was field experiment using measuring devices of magnetic field with EMF-827. The results confirmed that the area under the phase wires had the greatest magnetic field intensity, that was almost 70 times bigger than that of the natural magnetic field intensity. Based on the data collection, the use of roof barrier did not effect to the decrease of the magnetic field intensity because the decrease had segnificantly occured at farther distance from the phase wires without using roof barriers. All the results of magnetic field intensity measurements was still below the limit allowed by WHO. The results of the current study can be used as new understanding for Indonesians, especially those who still live under the transmission line

Abstract

Research on the analysis of the magnetic field intensity Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) around laptop is important method to prevent the impact of disease risks caused by electromagnetic field radiation and evaluation of the safety level of environmental radiation by magnetic field ELF. The instrument used to measure the magnetic field intensity EMR tester GM 3120 is capable of measuring magnetic fields start from 0,01-19,99 μT, the results of the intensity of exposure to magnetic fields measured by different power in six position and two condition (On and Stanby menuju Off). The distance of measurement is 30 cm. the distance is selected because it is based on the normal people’s eye reading distance. Results of correlation data are analyzed using correlation pearson by IBM SPSS Statistic 23. The result showed that the processor power by type was directly proportional with the magnetic field intensity. If power higher so magnetic field will be bigger, and if power lower so magnetic field will be smaller. The magnetic field intensity value on the Stanby menuju Off condition was decreased. The results showed the highest intensity of different magnetic fields on 13 laptop.Keywoards: Magnetic fiels intensity of ELF, laptop, condition, position.

Abstract

Abstract The ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field is a spectrum of electromagneticwaves that located at frequencies less than 300 Hz and classified as non ionizingradiation. The ELF magnetic field is utilized in many case, one of them in the case offood, it is because the magnetic field can be applied to inactivate pathogenicmicroorganisms that cause food easily damaged or rotten. One of the factors in food thatcan be a reference related to microbial growth is pH (Hydrogen potential). This studyaims to determine the effect of ELF magnetic field exposure in the preservation of milkfishto the pH value. This study involved 21 samples of fresh milkfish, with the selection ofcontrol and experiment class. The experimental sample was exposed to an ELF magneticfield with an intensity of 730.56 μT and 877.37 μT with exposure time of 2 x 30 and 2 x45 minutes. pH measurement using pH meter. The result of this research is ELF magneticfield exposure affects the pH value of milkfish, which can inhibit the increment of pHvalue. The effective dose in inhibiting pH value is ELF magnetic field exposure with730.56 μT during 2 x 30 minutes. Keywords: Magnetic Field Extremely Low Frequency (ELF), Preservation, Milkfish
