Abstract

Abstract The potention of students learning trajectory in comparison of trigonometry of X IPA students at SMAN 1 Pontianak were uneffective. This research was describe to the potention of students learning trajectory there was a new inovation in mathematics learning model using learning trajectory, and to increase mathematics learning effectiveness of learning trajectory towar the potention of student on learning goals, learning activity, and hypothetical learning trajectory . This research is in the form of a semi-descriptive qualitative that uses a single subject design. The research sample consisted of 6 student (10% of 40 student in a class) as the experimental group selected by participatory observation technique. Participatory observation technique test, interview guidelines, documentation, discussion group forum and triangulation/combination were used to collect data. Based on final pretest and posttest data analysis using directly to completion. This is indicated by the increasing potential of students' learning trajectory in trigonometric comparisons in senior high schools using learning trajectory successfully achieved through unit circles. Thus, the potention of students learning trajectory can build on mathematical conceptual understanding in trigonometric comparison material. Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research is to describe mathematical connection ability in materials of cube and cuboid based on junior high school's students' creativities. The aspects that was wanted to be clarified, namely: students' mathematical connection ability are creativity on fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. studied from visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles This research measures creativity on four levels: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The research method used is descriptive method in the form of case study. Data collection techniques  used are writing test of mathematical connection ability and interview. The subjects of this research are 37 nineth-grade students of SMPN 2 Pontianak. The result showed that students' mathematical connection ability based on creativity's fluency had a percentage of 88.50%, while based on creativity's flexibility had a percentage of 77.70%, creativity's originality had a percentage of 61.40% and creativity's elaboration had a percentage of 39.80%. In the end, it can be deduced that students' mathematical connection ability in materials of cube and cuboid based on junior high school's students' creativities was in the range of good category with percentage of 66.5%.Keywords: Creativity, Mathematical Connection Ability.

Abstract

AbstractThe background in this research is the student’s adaptive reasoning ability that is still relatively low. Adaptive reasoning ability are influenced by some factors,  one of them is student’s cognitive style. Therefore, adaptive reasoning ability should be analyzed based on student’s cognitive style. This research aims to describe the student’suu adaptive reasoning ability based on cognitive style in quadrilateral at SMP Negeri 8 Pontianak. The research method use descriptive method with case study. The subject in this research are four students grade VIII D consist of two reflective cognitive style students and two impulsive cognitive style students. The result of data analysis showed that the adaptive reasoning ability are different depending on their cognitive style.  One of students who has reflective cognitive style can  fulfill five indicator of adaptive reasoning ability and one of other students who has reflective cognitive style can  fulfill four indicator of adaptive reasoning ability. One of students who has impulsive cognitive style can  fulfill four indicator of adaptive reasoning ability and one of other students who has impulsive cognitive style can  fulfill two indicator of adaptive reasoning ability.  Keywords: Adaptive Reasoning Ability, Cognitive Style, Quadrilateral

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to produce problem solving instruments with appropriate contextual math problems in accordance with the needs of teachers and students in Junior High School. The method used in this research is the development method (R & D) with the model adapted from Sugiyono. The result of data analysis showed that: (1) the teacher positively stated that the teacher needed the problem solving instrument with a mathematical problem of contextual context which is feasible to be used in mathematics learning and 90% of the 20 students agreed if test problem solving with math problem good and worthy; (2) The problem solving instrument with a contextual mathematical problem is an instrument in the form of a written test that involves the process of problem solving and is made based on the context of the problems encountered in everyday life or related to the environment that can be observed or experienced by real research subjects as well as researchers; and (3) The developed instrument meets the criteria worthy means that the test instrument has valid indicator, realibel, has medium difficulty level, high distinguishing ability or minimum enough, and able to identify student ability in solving contextual mathematics problem according to each student's ability.Keywords : Problem Solving, Contextual Math Problems

Abstract

 AbstractThe learning process that students do not only can be in the classroom can also be done outside or in the environment where they live. The environment around the students is also not far from the culture. Education and culture is something that can not in everyday life, because culture is unity and unity, apply in every society and education is a necessity for every individual in society. Currently the 2013 curriculum used is a very deep learning environment. In the textbook used is still a lot of language that must be understood students. The use of everyday language, language use is often interpreted as being able to speak in that language. More seriously here is defined as the ability to use symbols directly to communicate. The research used in this research is descriptive explorative research. The results obtained in this study are the mention of integers in the local language, the various units in the provision of ritual gear equipment, and the use of counting operations in the ritual activity of the device. all the results that can be integrated in mathematics learning.Keywords: Learning, Local Language, Etnomatematics

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to explain the epistimological obstacles of students in determining the Domain and Range quadratic function in the class eleventh SMA Islam Al-Asy 'Arriyah Pontianak academic year 2017/2018. Subjects who participated in this study were four students of class eleventh who had obstacles in solving the problem Domain and Range. The method used in this research is case study. The instrument used test amounted to 12 questions. Based on the results of the tests and interviews by four students, had found some obstacles in determining Domain and Range quadratic function.They have not been able to write and understand the symbol used on the problem. Meanwhile, the subjects have not understood how to determine Domain that has two interval, they also have not been able to explain the proper procedure to seek the Range. Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to describe the quantitative reasoning abilities of students in algebraic material in Middle School based on students' mathematical abilities. The research method used was descriptive method with the form of survey study. The subjects of this study were 3 students in class XII Pontianak 2 Public High School. The results of the quantitative reasoning ability test show that the students' quantitative reasoning abilities in algebraic material can be categorized as low. The ability to reverse the calculation process can only be achieved by students who have a high level of mathematical abilities, but the ability to simplify the calculation process can be achieved by most of all students both at high medium and low ability levels. Keywords: Quantitative reasoning, Algebra.

Abstract

 AbstractThe purpose of  this research is to develop mathematical investigation structure problem in solve the problems of pattern number. The methode that use is the research and development. The first phase in this research is self-evaluation, in the next phase is one-to-one pilot which run in parallel with experts review. Then pilot field in the small group phase. Qualitative data analisys is used in the beginning phase one-to-one and experts review, while quantitave data analisys is used in the pilot field small group. The result of this research is a mathematical investigation structure problem that is reasonable to use based on the  expert review result  and according to the mathematical investigation indicators that have been determined. Abstract

Abstract This research aims to describe students’ translation and transformation ability on mathematical representation in solving contextual word problems of sets in class VIII SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak. The method that was use in this research is descriptive method with case study form. The subject of this research are 35 students. The data collection instrument that used is written test in essay and interview as the follow-up activity. The result of data analysis showed that the students’ translation ability on mathematical representation from the verbal representation  to the symbol representation (sets symbol) is classified as very low with percentage 100%; students’ translation ability on mathematical representation from the symbol representation (sets symbol) to the visual representation (Venn diagram) is classified as very low with percentage 60%; students’ translation ability on mathematical representation from the verbal representation  to the symbolic representation is classified as very low with percentage 100%; students’ transformation ability on mathematical representation in symbolic representation is classified as very low with percentage 51.43%; and students’ transformation ability on mathematical representation in verbal only a small part with percentage 40% which reached very high. Kata kunci : kemampuan translasi, kemampuan transformasi, soal cerita   kontekstual, himpunan

Abstract

AbstractThis research to determine student’s conceptual understanding of Flat Side Solid figure in junior high school. This study used qualitative desciptive method. Data was collected using tests, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this research were 6 of 30 grade VIII B students of Junior High School 11 Pontianak which were determined by the results of the student’s conceptual understanding tests. The results of the tests showed that student’s mathematical conceptual understanding was classified as moderate with a percentage of high ability (16.66%), moderate ability (66,66%), and low ability (16,66%). Categorization based on indicators that achieved in the conceptual understanding test. The high category with the achievement of four indicators, the moderate category with the achievement of two to three indicators, and the low category with achievements did not answer correctly.Keywords: Conceptual Understanding, Level Of Ability
