Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to describe the students creative thinking process in geometry problem solving based on wallas stage to the ninth-grade students of SMPN 03 Pontianak observed from their mathematic ability. This research used descriptive study case method. The subject in this research were 6 student of by  IX A and IX E class. Method of data collection were taken by written a test to discover the creative thinking process based on wallas stage; final mathematic score in even semester to know student’s mathematic ability; and did some interview to knows student’s creative thinking process deeply. The result of this research show that  student in IX A are R1 who has high ability  and R3  who has low ability; and student in IX E is R2  who has intermediate ability. Then, the result indicate that creative thinking process involved stage which include synthesis ideas with their own word, planning to apply the ideas in many ways, solving their palanning and looking back their answer. The analysis also show every wallas stage of creative thingking proces is distinct each student. The interest thing is R3 could passed the wallas stage very well than two other. Abstract

The problem in patchouli plant cultivation is the reduction of soil?s fertility level which effects on the decreasing of plant growth and yield.  Application of cattle manure is a key to increase the soil?s productivity. The objective of this research is to study the effect of application method and cattle manure dosage on plant growth and yield of patchouli plant. This research was conducted at Lampung Agriculture Polytechnic research?s field in Hajimena Bandar Lampung from December 2010 to March 2011. The experiment was factorial designed (2 X 4 factors) with randomized completely block design with three replications. The first factor was manure cattle application method: spreaded on soil surface or mixed with top soil. The second factor was manure cattle dosage, consist of 0, 10, 20, and 30 ton/ha.  Result showed that (1) the application of manure cattle increased the growth and yield of patchouli plant; the increasing of the dosage would increase plant growth and yield of patchouli plant, (2) Patchouli plant which applied with cattle manure that mixed with top soil has longer primary root, (3) There is no interaction effect between application method and manure cattle dosage on plant growth and yield of patchouli plant.  Key words: application method, cattle manure, growth, yield, Pogostemon cablin

Abstract

To get high quality physic nut seedling one of effort is with vegetative propagation especially with grafting. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect the maturity of rootstocks and shading rate on the effectiveness of grafting and the growth of seedling of Jatropka. The experiment was conducted in Labuhan Dalam, Subdistrict Tanjung Seneng, the City of Bandar Lampung from January-June 2008. Is a factorial experiment (3X4) with split plot design, shading degrees as main plot consisted without shading, light shading, moderate shading, and heavy shading. Root stock age as subplot consisted 6, 8, and 10 weeks after transplanting. The treatments were consisted 3 replication and each experiment unit consisted 10 seedlings. The result shows that root stock age 8 and 10 weeks produces physic nut seedling growth better than root stock age 6 week. Physic nut seedling without shading and light shading (1 layer paranet) grow better than with moderate shading (2 layers paranet) and heavy shading (3 layers paranet);Key words: Physic nut, root stock age, shading

Abstract

AbstractThe fact that students’ mathematical critical thinking ability are low. Critical thinking are influenced by some factors, one of them is belief. This research aimed to explorate the mathematical critical thinking ability assessed from the students' belief in solving systems of linear equations in two variable materials. The research method was descriptive in form of case study. Subjects in this research are eight students at SMP Negeri 24 Pontianak. The results of this research indicated that students' mathematical critical thinking ability variation depend on their beliefs. Students who have the highest mathematical critical thinking ability are students with belief in following the learning process and usefulness of mathematics. Students who have the lowest mathematical critical thinking ability are students with belief in the usefulness of mathematics. On the other hand, students with belief in self-ability when study mathematics have mathematical critical thinking ability with medium category. Keywords: Mathematical Critical Thinking Ability, Students Belief, System of Linear Equations

Abstract

AbstractReading skills in learning mathematics in schools are rarely taught by teachers. One of the reading strategies is the problem posing-based TRI strategy. Based on the results of research, learning using these strategies can develop students' mathematical communication skills. A comparison of the average value of pretest and posttest is 54 and 73. Precisely the mathematical communication skills of students with visual learning styles after learning with the type of pre solution posing have increased. Of the three subjects, two subjects have increased. Likewise, with students who have kinesthetic learning styles in the same type of the three subjects, two subjects have increased, and one subject has that type. Furthermore, mathematical communication skills of students with visual learning styles after learning with the type within solution posing have increased, of the three subjects, two subjects have increased; as well as students with kinesthetic learning styles in the same type, of the three subjects only one has increased, but there is one subject already able to that type. Then the mathematical communication skills of students with visual learning styles after learning with the type of post solution posing increased in all subjects. Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to find out the improvement of students' mathematical skills through a disposition-based scientific learning approach in the St. Benedict Pahauman Middle School. The research method used in this research was pedagogical action research. The stages carried out in this study were observing, reflecting, planning, acting. The subjects of this study were 10 students of class IX C of SMP St. Benedict Pahauman in the academic year 2018/2019. Data collection techniques used in this study were test and non-test techniques in the form of observation sheets / observation sheets of teacher activities and disposition questionnaires. The data that has been obtained in this study were analyzed by qualitative descriptive methods. Based on the results of research and discussion, in this study it could be concluded that there was an increase in students' mathematical skills after learning a scientific approach based on disposition and was classified as high.  Keywords: Mathematical Skills, Scientific Learning Approaches, Pedagogical Action Research, and Disposition

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research is to describe the effect of applying the survey model, question, read, recite, and review of reading comprehension skills in thematic learning of Grade IV SDN 03 Sungai Raya Kubu Raya District. The method is used tthe experimental method, while the form of research used is nonequivalent control group design. The sample in this study was all students in grade IV Negeri Negeri 03 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency consisting of 32 students in class IVA, 32 students in class IVB, 33 students in class IVC. Data collection tools in the form of a multiple choice test totaling 45 questions. Based on data analysis, the average post-test of the experimental class was 71.46 while the average post-test of the control class was 62.75. t test results obtained = 3.67 and (? = 5% (k = n1 + n2-2 = 32 + 33-2 = 63) of 1.98, which means (3.67) ? (1.98), Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, indicating that there was an influence of the survey model, question, read, recite, and review of students' reading comprehension skills in the thematic learning of Grade IV SDN 03 Sungai Raya Kubu Raya regency. 0.853 (high criteria) This means that it can be concluded that the survey model, question, read, recite, review of students' reading comprehension skills in the thematic learning of grade IV SDN 03 Sungai Raya Kubu Raya District. Abstract

AbstractStudents who study mathematics in SMP have mastered basic arithmetic operations. There are some students hampered mastery of basic arithmetic material. The subjects of research is students of grade VIII B SMP. Subject selection is based on random. The instrument used in this research is a matter of mathematical test of mathematical understanding in the form of description, which consists of a matter of pretest and postes. The number of questions as many as 12 items in the form of a description and contains the component Number Sense. Preparation of test questions, begins with the preparation of the grid problem followed by compiling the questions and alternatives key answers each item item. Average score of students' mathematical understanding before being taught the learning of Sense Number structure is 38,93, with details: instrumental understanding included in low category, relational understanding of student is in low category. Whereas after learning structure of Number Sense, average score of student equal to 71,43, with details of student instrumental understanding is in medium category, relational understanding of student is low. Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe students potential in communicating mathematical ideas through drawings, tables, Cartesian diagrams and related symbol of parallelogram at Junior High School. The research method used is descriptive. The subjects were 28 students in grade VII SMPN 7 Sungai Raya. The result of the research shows that the tendency of students mathematical communication potential about the parallelogram,which is studied with the picture is more likely to be developed in mathematics learning compared to sudents mathematical communication through Cartesian diagram, table, and symbol. Another finding, the potential of students’ mathematical communication related to the area of parallelogram with tables, tends to be mare likely to bedeveloped in mathematics learning than the potential of students’ mathematical communication with images, symbol, and Cartesian diagram.Key words: Mathematical Communication, The Potential Of Mathematical Communication

Abstract

AbstractThis research to describe student’s mathematical connection ability in sequence and arithmetic series material. The reseach method used is descriptive with research form of survey. Subjects involved in this study were students in grade XI SMK Boedi Oetomo with the research object is students mathematical connection ability in sequence and arithmetic series. The results of this research in shows that students mathematical connection ability in sequence and arithmetic series material which is associated with the context of the production of moderate category of goods (question number 1) with average values 70 and of very low category (question number 2) with average values 20. While the students mathematical connection ability in sequence and arithmetic series materialwhich is associated with the context of the production of a very low category of goods with an overall score of 37. Overall it can be concluded that students mathematical connection ability in sequence and arithmetic series material classified as very low with average values 42. Keyword: Mathematical Connection Ability, Sequence and Arithmetic Series
