Abstract

This community service program aims to apply appropriate technology in the form of a banana rambak automatic draining machine (Spinner) to increase the business productivity of banana rambak business actors in Wonoagung Village, Kasembon District, Malang Regency. The banana rambak automatic oil draining machine (Spinner) was designed because business actors get a problem in the production process, especially in the process of draining business actors still use traditional techniques, namely placed in a container and given a paper base and then aerated. Thus, business actors must take a long time in the process of draining the oil in banana rambak. This can hinder productivity for banana rambak business actors so that banana rambak products have low quality. The application of the spinner machine aims to facilitate and accelerate the business actors belonging to the Kartika Kencana MSME in producing banana rambak. Thus, business actors have quality productivity and can increase productivity, especially banana rambak processing.

Abstract

The post-pandemic era is a post-pandemic era where all MSME players are maintaining their businesses and must even be able to increase their businesses. The obstacles experienced by MSMEs Dapur Sangit, Wandanpuro Village, Bululawang, Malang Regency, which are engaged in catering and produce shredded milkfish processed foods, occur in the process of packing or packaging products that are inefficient and untidy. In addition, the product packaging process is still applying conventional technology by using a hand sealer manually. The impact of the packaging process with this conventional tool certainly makes the packaging untidy and there are defects in the packaging so that it will affect product quality and have an impact on reducing quality and selling value in the market. The purpose of this community service program is to apply Appropriate Technology (TTG) in the form of an automatic Continuous Band Sealer machine that functions to improve packaging quality, reduce costs if still applying conventional technology and increase product durability. The results of the service carried out went smoothly and could improve the quality of product packaging for MSMEs Dapur Sangit.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is often thrown away rather than utilized. This will certainly endanger the environment. In fact, this used cooking oil can actually be turned into useful products. Therefore, it is very important to educate the public about the dangers of used cooking oil waste to the environment and how to utilize it. The target of this community service is mothers who are UMKM actors in Krobokan Village, West Semarang. The purpose of Community Service is to provide education about the dangers of used cooking oil to the environment and provide training on utilizing used cooking oil into products with economic value, namely aromatherapy candles. The method of implementing community service activities is the socialization and training method. After participating in this community service activity, there was an increase in public awareness of the dangers of used cooking oil waste and an increase in skills in utilizing used cooking oil into products with economic value. This activity is expected to contribute to waste management and can create profitable business opportunities.

Abstract

Cahaya berlebihan dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan, sehingga pengukuran intensitas cahaya yang akurat penting dilakukan. Penelitian ini merancang dan menguji prototipe alat ukur intensitas cahaya berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) menggunakan sensor Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) dan mikrokontroler ESP-32. Kalibrasi dilakukan di lingkungan polusi cahaya yang rendah, yakni Gunung Butak (2868 mdpl), selama 24 jam penuh. Data intensitas cahaya dikumpulkan setiap 1 jam dan kemudian dibandingkan dengan lux meter standar. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan nilai intensitas tertinggi sebesar 460.086 lux pada pukul 12.11 dengan nilai regresi sebesar , mengindikasikan tingkat akurasi prototipe yang sangat tinggi. Prototipe ini memungkinkan pemantauan real-time melalui webserver dan dapat menjadi solusi dalam evaluasi pencahayaan ruang kerja.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills in static fluid materials remains suboptimal, necessitating the implementation of an instructional model that effectively enhances this skill. The STEAM-integrated SSCS learning model presents a novel solution that is still rarely applied in educational settings. This study aims to examine the effect of this model on improving students' critical thinking skills in static fluid materials. A quasi-experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group was employed, involving Class XI students from SMA Negeri 1 Boyolangu Tulungagung. Participants were selected using a cluster random sampling technique, comprising 37 students in the experimental class (STEAM-integrated SSCS model) and 34 students in the control class (conventional model). The instrument used was a Critical Thinking Skills Test on static fluid material, consisting of nine essay questions validated with a reliability coefficient of 0.625 (medium category). The analysis revealed that the STEAM-integrated SSCS model significantly improved students' critical thinking skills,  as indicated by a significance value of 0.000. The experimental class obtained an N-Gain score of 0.678 (medium category), higher than the control class's score of 0.426 (medium category). N-Gain values for each static fluid submatter and critical thinking indicator were also consistently higher in the experimental class. Although improvements were observed, experimental class students still faced difficulties in problem-solving and decision-making, while control class students struggled with hypothesis testing. The model's effectiveness is further supported by a Cohen's d effect size of 1.997, categorized as “large”.  Future research should consider optimizing the learning time to complete the miniature products and increasing the number of pre-test and post-test items to allow for more comprehensive analysis of each submatter and could explore the application of STEAM-integrated SSCS across various physics topics to verify generalizability.

Abstract

The era of Industry 5.0 requires physics education to adapt to technological advancements. Students often struggle to understand abstract concepts due to the limitations of tools and methods of learning that are less interactive. This research aims to develop a prototype for a harmonic vibration practical that integrates the Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR), and Virtual Reality (VR) into a single Bifocal Modelling device. This approach allows students to see the application of physics concepts in real-time, enriching their learning experience. The method used is Research and Development (R&D), which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE). The research results indicate that the use of this technology can enhance student engagement and help them understand the differences between the ideal model and real phenomena. Thus, students not only learn theory but also experience firsthand that makes learning more engaging. In addition, the integration of this technology equips students with the 21st-century skills needed in an increasingly complex job market. This research is expected to provide solutions to the challenges in physics teaching and pave the way for further research related to the application of technology. In this way, the integration of technology in physics education can prepare students to face the complexities of the modern workforce.

Abstract

Pendidikan bahasa Inggris merupakan landasan penting dalam pengembangan intelektual dan akademik siswa pada jenjang pendidikan dasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 2 semester 2 SDN 02 Malangjiwan tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (PBL) dengan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Hasil post-test pada siklus I sebesar 65,19 (kategori cukup) dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 80,96 (kategori baik). Simpulan penelitian ini adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dalam proses pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 2A SDN 02 Malangjiwan tahun ajaran 2023/2024.

Abstract

The depletion of fossil fuels has driven significant changes in the global electricity system. Solar Power Plants (PLTS) as a renewable energy source have shown the potential to contribute up to 25% of global electricity generation by 2050. The electricity system often experiences disturbances that can affect its performance and reliability. This study examines the performance of a 1.2 kW hybrid PV system under various load conditions. The system was tested with load variations of 2%, 7%, 22%, and 26% to assess its efficiency and performance. Despite a slight voltage drop of 4V Vac (-1.82%) at higher loads, the hybrid PV system consistently maintained a voltage range of 216-220V Vac, which meets the standard requirements. The system demonstrated high efficiency, averaging over 95%, with a peak efficiency reaching 98.5% at 2% load. These results confirm the effectiveness, safety, and reliability of the system under various load conditions. The findings are based on direct testing and measurements of a 1.2 kW hybrid PV system to evaluate the impact of load variations on its performance. The 1.2 kW hybrid PV system has been proven to be effective, safe and reliable in the face of load variations. These findings support the potential implementation of hybrid PV systems as a future renewable energy solution in the electricity sector

Abstract

Management of Guidance and Counseling Services at Inclusive High School Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Batangan Pati. Inclusive High School Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Batangan Pati is the only madrasa in Batangan sub-district that implements an inclusive education model, the inclusive classroom model is the implementation of teaching and learning activities that accommodate the needs of regular students and students with special needs. From the above background, this study aims to find out: 1) to find out how the implementation of Guidance and Counseling Service Management in Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Inclusive Madrasah Aliyah Batang Pati, 2) to find out what the supporting and inhibiting factors are Guidance and Counseling Service Management in Inclusive Madrasah Aliyah Tarbiyatul Islamiyah Batang Pati. This research is a field research using a qualitative approach, the data collection was obtained using field observation techniques on the management of guidance and counseling services, interviews with the head of madrasah, counseling guidance teachers, special assistant teachers, student representatives, curriculum representatives, public relations officers, madrasah security, subject teachers, students, parents and madrasa alumni. In addition to the primary data, the researchers also used secondary data including student documentation, documentation of guidance and counseling services, and photos of activities, all data were analyzed using data reduction, the main things related to the management of guidance and counseling services, approach models and methods. used in the management of guidance and counseling services, then verification as a conclusion from the analysis. The results showed that: (1) Guidance and Counseling Service Management includes planning, daily service planning, monthly service planning, semester service planning and annual service planning and individual guidance and group guidance planning, organizing includes, the existence of an organizational structure for guidance and counseling services, and division of tasks for guidance and counseling services, actuating includes preventive actions, curative and repressive actions, and evaluations which include monthly evaluations, semester evaluations, annual evaluations and supervision, (2) supporting factors, namely the active role of the foundation, the leadership of the madrasah principal, action fast response counseling guidance teacher. Harmony in the relationship between homeroom teachers and students and communication between counselors and related stakeholders, while the inhibiting factors are the corona virus pandemic, lack of parental response, limited facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi tahu di industri tahu Sengkaring, Kecamatan Donomulyo, Kabupaten Malang melalui penggunaan alat mesin AutoTofu Filter machine. Industri tahu lokal sering menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas produknya. Metode kegiatan akan melibatkan pengembangan dan penerapan AutoTofu Filter machine yang dapat mengurangi waktu dan tenaga kerja dalam proses produksi tahu. Dengan otomatisasi, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, mengurangi kesalahan manusia, dan meningkatkan kebersihan produk. Pada saat ini keberlanjutan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat sampai pada tahap pembuatan alat dalam rangka mengatasi permasalahan yang dialami mitra sehingga dengan adanya pengabdian masyarakat ini, diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif terhadap pengembangan industri tahu lokal, meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat setempat, dan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap perekonomian Kabupaten Malang.
