Abstract

This study aimed to design a grounding system in the Computer Center Building and analyze the feasibility of the building in the use of a lightning rod system. This research was conducted at the Manado State University Computer Center Building by conducting a case study where data would be collected, processed, and analyzed. The results showed that the ground resistance on the panel was 4.71 Ohm, and the ground resistance of the lightning rod was 3.10 Ohm. After redesigning using six electrodes, both for grounding the lightning rod and equipment, the value is 2.97 Ohms. The results of the analysis of how important the use of lightning rods in the Computer Center Building is, a score of 14 is obtained. These results conclude that a lightning rod system is needed in the Computer Center Building. Abstrak— Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang sistem pentanahan di Gedung Pusat Komputer serta menganalisis kelayakan gedung dalam penggunaan sistem penangkal petir. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Gedung Pusat Komputer Universitas Negeri Manado dengan melakukan studi kasus dimana data akan dikumpulkan, diolah, dan dianalisa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan tahanan tanah pada panel sebesar 4,71 Ohm, tahanan tanah pada penangkal petir sebesar 3,10 Ohm. Setelah dilakukan perancangan kembali dengan menggunakan 6 batang elektroda, baik untuk pentanahan penangkal petir dan peralatan didapatkan nilai 2,97 Ohm. Hasil analisis mengenai seberapa pentingnya penggunaan penangkal petir di Gedung Pusat Komputer didapatkan nilai 14. Dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa sangat diperlukan sistem penangkal petir di Gedung Pusat Komputer.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much the results of the theory of vocational competency tests are related to the results of the vocational practice competency tests of TITL students at SMK Negeri 2 Manado. In addition, this study also analyzed how relevant the vocational theory competency test material was to the vocational practice competency test material. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with 56 students as research subjects. In practice, the researchers found that some students already understood electric motors, and some did not understand when the researchers gave practice; as a result, these students did not understand when the researcher or teacher was giving theory to them. When researchers teach theory and practice, they often provide post-tests or questions for students to work on to see whether they comprehend correctly. The results showed a positive and significant effect on the results of the vocational theory competency test and the results of the vocational practice competency test. In addition, the results of the analysis of the relevance of the material in the theory of vocational competency tests to the results of the vocational practice competency tests were 70% in the relevant category.

Abstract

This study is expected to improve learning outcomes. Electrical lighting installation for grade XII students using a contextual learning model during the 2022–2023 academic year. The study was conducted in two cycles, with planning, implementation, action, observation/evaluation, and reflection as components of each cycle. This study involved 30 grade XII TITL students. The collected data were analyzed through test techniques. It was analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study showed that the average student learning outcomes in cycle 1 in the electrical lighting installation component were 67.4% in the moderate category, which in cycle 2 increased to 80% in the high category, indicating an increase of 85.66%. Thus, the contextual learning model has been proven to improve the learning outcomes of grade XII TITL students at SMKN 1 Tomohon in the 2022–2023 academic year.

Abstract

Sumber daya manusia sangat penting untuk menunjang perubahan, dimana diperlukannya sumber daya yang berkualitas, baik sumber daya alam maupun sumber daya manusia. Agar terciptanya sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas, maka diperlukannya manajemen pendidikan yang baik untuk menunjang perubahan kearah yang lebih baik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu manajemen pendidikan yang kreatif dan inovatif merupakan hal yang sangat penting dalam mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang unggul dan berkualitas. Pendidik serta tenaga pendidikan memiliki tanggung jawab untuk menyiapkan sumber daya manusia yang mampu untuk berkompetisi serta berkolaborasi dengan masyarakat global dengan mempertimbangkan pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif dapat dilaksanakan.

Abstract

The characteristics of prospective new students who re-register can produce a distribution pattern of new student admissions according to the data obtained. The results of the distribution pattern can be used as material for decision making in determining the socialization and promotion of study programs at universities. To produce a pattern, it requires grouping based on data that has the same character. The k-means algorithm, which is an algorithm in data mining processing methods for clustering, is successful in classifying new student admissions by maximizing the similarity of characteristics between data in one cluster which is different from data in other clusters. This is evidenced by direct application based on data mining procedures to data on new student admissions for Engineering Faculty, Manado State University for 2018, 2019, and 2020 with 8 selected variables. After clustering using the RStudio application, Data 2018 generates 6 clusters, 2019 data generates 3 clusters, and 2020 data generates 4 clusters. There are some re-registration characteristics that are common to all three years, which can be read easily after clustering.

Abstract

This study analyzes student evaluations of lecturer performance at the Faculty of Engineering, Manado State University, integrating quantitative and qualitative approaches. A total of 127 students from various study programs assessed four main dimensions of lecturer performance: pedagogical, professional, personality, and social competence. Quantitative results indicate that all dimensions received high average scores, indicating that students perceive lecturer performance to be in the good to excellent category. Qualitative findings reinforce these results and reveal aspects that students appreciate, such as clarity of material delivery, professionalism, communicative interactions, and academic exemplary behavior. However, students highlighted the need for increased innovation in more applicable learning methods, broader use of digital media, and more intensive and constructive evaluation feedback. This study confirms that lecturer performance is a strategic factor in improving the quality of engineering learning and provides recommendations for strengthening engineering pedagogy, digitizing learning, and developing a formative evaluation system within a sustainable quality assurance framework.

Abstract

Dalam konteks pendidikan, penggunaan teknologi informasi untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran menjadi suatu keharusan. Sistem evaluasi pembelajaran yang telah dibuat dengan metode yang digunakan yaitu: Rapid Application Development (RAD). Bahasa pemprograman PHP berhasil digunakan untuk membangun sistem informasi Evaluasi pembelajaran di Universitas Negeri Manado yaitu :(PHP: hypertext preprocessor), dengan basis data berbasis MySQL, sistem yang dibangun dan dirancang untuk memudahkan Sistem Informasi baik itu untuk mahasiswa, dosen dan admin agar kegiatan dapat terstruktur dengan baik. Dengan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, proses pengumpulan, pengolahan, dan pelaporan hasil evaluasi menjadi lebih cepat, akurat, dan terintegrasi. Pengujian system dilakukan dengan pengujian Blaxbox testing untuk meninjau performa sistem. Dengan pemanfaatan teknologi informasi, proses pengumpulan, pengolahan, dan pelaporan hasil evaluasi menjadi lebih cepat, akurat, dan terintegrasi sistem ini memberikan aktivitas yang nyata antara dosen dan mahasiswa sebagai sebuah timbal balik dalam kegiatan pembelajaran Universitas Negeri Manado. Sistem ini tidak hanya mempermudah tim penjamin mutu dalam memonitor kualitas pembelajaran, tetapi juga mendorong terciptanya budaya evaluasi yang transparan dan berkesinambungan. Implementasi sistem ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan mutu proses pembelajaran dan mendukung pencapaian visi serta misi universitas dalam bidang akademik.

Abstract

Pengelolaan surat secara manual di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Manado sering menimbulkan berbagai kendala, seperti keterlambatan distribusi, kesulitan pelacakan, dan risiko kehilangan dokumen. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan sistem informasi manajemen surat berbasis web untuk meningkatkan efisiensi administrasi dan akurasi pelacakan surat. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan model Rapid Application Development (RAD) yang terdiri dari tiga tahap: Requirement Planning, Design Workshop, dan Implementation. Pada tahap perancangan, sistem dimodelkan menggunakan UML (Use Case, Activity, Class, dan Sequence Diagram) serta diimplementasikan dengan PHP Native, MySQL, dan Bootstrap. Hasil pengujian menggunakan Black Box Testing menunjukkan bahwa seluruh fungsi berjalan sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Sistem ini mampu mempercepat proses pencatatan, pelaporan, dan disposisi surat, serta meningkatkan transparansi dan keamanan arsip digital di Fakultas Teknik UNIMA.
