Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) cause an estimated 4 million deaths each year, with infants, children and the elderly being the groups most at risk. Every year, more than 2 million children under five years of age die from ARI. This study aims to describe trends in the incidence of ARI in children under five years of age in Kendari City from 2021-2023. This type of research is descriptive, with an observational research design. The population and sample of this study were all toddlers who suffered from ARI in Kendari City in 2021-2023, totalling 23,508 toddlers (total sampling). The results showed that the number of ARI cases in toddlers in Kendari City increased yearly. In 2021, the prevalence was 24%; in 2022, it increased to 36.2%; in 2023, it reached 39.7%. During 2021-2023, the number of ARI cases among male toddlers (52.7%) was higher than among female toddlers (47.2%). Based on age group, 25.2% of cases occurred in toddlers aged <1 year, while 74.7% occurred in toddlers aged 1-<5. The health centre with the highest number of ARI patients is Puskesmas Puwatu, with a case contribution of 15.5%, while Puskesmas Jatiraya has the lowest number of cases, which is 0.9%. This study concludes an increasing trend in children under five with ARI in Kendari City from 2021-2023. Abstract

Konawe Regency in the Southeast Sulawesi Province is one of the regions facing a significant burden of malnutrition among school-age children and adolescents. We developed a nutritional education program for schoolchildren in response to this issue. The Pinggan Adintaku nutritional education program combines face-to-face counseling and educational games. The program aims to equip students with knowledge and skills in selecting healthy foods for themselves, with the expectation of significantly impacting their health and academic performance. The primary media used is the Nutrition Diary module, designed to be age-appropriate and culturally relevant to the program's location. The activities occurred from August to September 2023, centered at Bajo Indah Elementary School in the Soropia District of Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The participants included 18 individuals, consisting of 17 fifth-grade students and one teacher. Qualitative evaluation results indicate that almost all Pinggan Adintaku nutritional education aspects were effective. However, the Schoolchildren's Nutrition Diary module needs further development by adding topics and narratives to make it a comprehensive and informative resource tailored to the needs of schoolchildren.

Abstract

Generally, malnutrition is a public health problem involving multi- disciplinary and must always be controlled, especially for people living in developing countries. The implementation of the Nutrition program at the Masaloka Raya Public Health Center is running well, systematically, and sustainably. However, the results of the program have not eliminated the malnutrition rate. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in nutritional intake, basic health care, individual hygiene in under-fives with poor nutritional status, and normal nutritional status in the Working Area of Masaloka Raya Public Health Center, Bombana Regency in 2021. The research design to identify the relationship between each variables, and the research design is a case-control study using the Nonparametric Mann Witney U Test. The results showed there were differences in nutritional intake foods containing energy, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and personal hygiene and basic service health on the nutritional status of children under five, (P.Value < 0.05), The dependent variable is predicted to support the improvement of nutritional status. This also explains that the reduced intake of these six factors is the cause of malnutrition

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Indonesian government's response to the new normal, particularly in the health services sector during the Covid-19 era, has prompted a transformative shift, emphasizing the need for health professionals to adeptly integrate technology, information, and communication. This shift is fueled by evolving consumer expectations, marked by a heightened demand for accessible health services addressing immediate concerns and preventing illness. The implications of this transition extend to the accessibility of health facilities, funding sources, and overall service costs. This research aimed to explores the behavioral patterns influencing individuals' utilization of community health centers in the new normal. Using a modified systematic literature review, the study synthesizes existing knowledge on factors shaping health service utilization, focusing on motivations for seeking healthcare due to pain or discomfort. Employing a modified systematic literature review methodology, the research analyzed relevant papers on individuals utilizing community health centers, emphasizing the new normal's impact on access, funding sources, and cost implications of health services. Findings highlight a prominent motivation—alleviating pain or discomfort—consistently emerging across the literature. In the evolving new normal landscape, individuals accessing community health centers rely substantially on services to alleviate pain, emphasizing the need for tailored health service delivery aligned with proactive health-seeking behavior. Recommendations include health service providers adapting practices to evolving consumer expectations through potential technology integration, improved access, and transparent communication on costs. Ongoing research and monitoring of consumer behavior remain essential for sustained effectiveness and responsiveness in the dynamic new normal landscape. Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension, also recognized as elevated blood pressure, denotes an elevation in systolic blood pressure beyond the standard threshold. Hypertension is characterized as elevated blood pressure, indicated by a systolic pressure exceeding 140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure surpassing 90 mmHg. The level of patient compliance in taking medication influences the therapy outcomes for hypertensive patients. The patient's compliance in using medication influences the success of treatment therapy. Non-adherence to medication among hypertensive patients can lead to significant adverse outcomes, including the development of complications. Poor compliance with medication can result in blood pressure not showing significant improvement, resulting in poor quality of life. This study aimed to review articles regarding the relationship between compliance and therapy outcomes for hypertensive patients. This research employed a systematic literature review methodology. The searches for this review article were Google Scholar, Research Gate, Pubmed, and Portal Garuda using the selected keywords, namely Hypertension, Therapy Outcomes, and Compliance. The results obtained from 5 literature studies showed that the relationship between compliance to taking medication and therapy outcomes based on gender, age, education level, occupation, and quality of life influenced compliance to antihypertensive therapy. In summary, a substantial correlation exists between adherence to antihypertensive medication and therapeutic outcomes among hypertensive patients, with the average result yielding a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Based on the results of the review of articles that have been obtained, suggestions that can be given are to examine the relationship between compliance and therapy outcomes of hypertension patient with comorbidities.
