Abstract

Graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMK) need to be well-prepared for employment; however, encouraging the internal drive necessary for this preparation continues to be a challenge. This research employed the Problem Driven Iterative Adaptation (PDIA) method to boost intrinsic motivation and improve students' preparedness for the workforce. The study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Mejayan, Indonesia, using a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control groups involving 66 automotive electrical engineering students. Data were collected through validated questionnaires measuring intrinsic motivation (based on Self-Determination Theory) and work readiness (adapted from established scales), supplemented by classroom observations. Statistical analysis using descriptive methods and the Mann-Whitney U test revealed a significant increase in both intrinsic motivation and work readiness among the experimental group compared to the control group. The PDIA approach, through its iterative cycles of authentic problem identification, collaborative diagnosis, solution testing, and reflective action, successfully established a meaningful learning environment that fostered student autonomy, competence, and social relatedness. This involvement in real problem-solving and flexible learning not only enhanced technical abilities but also fostered important soft skills that are vital for success in the workplace. The results indicate that PDIA is a successful and creative teaching approach that connects vocational education with industry needs by strengthening students' intrinsic motivation, thereby enhancing their overall job market readiness.".

Abstract

Pembinaan Atlet memiliki komplektifitas yang tinggi, tidak hanya ketersediaan pelatih dan atlet akan tetapi membutuhkan manajemen pengelolaan yang tepat untuk mencapai performa yang optimal. Pelatih, guru dan pengurus cabang olahraga di Kabupaten Nganjuk memiliki beberapa permasalahan dalam manajemen pembinaan, latihan fisik dan evaluasi kemajuan atlet. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat olahraga di Kabupaten Nganjuk bertujuan memberikan transfer ilmu manajemen pelatihan atlet, latihan fisik berbasis sport science, dan sistem monitoring latihan untuk menyelesaikan masalah tersebut. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat terdiri dari empat tahapan kegiatan yaitu perencanaan, identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memahami materi dan solusi permasalahan yang didiskusikan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah kolaborasi dengan mitra industri dan perguruan tinggi diperlukan untuk memecahkah permasalahan utama yaitu keterbatasan pendanaan serta meningkatkan profesionalisme pengelolaan cabang olahraga. Manajemen pelatihan atlet dengan integrasi program latihan fisik membantu atlet mencapai performa optimal dan mengurangi pembiayaan melalui evaluasi berkala.

Abstract

Universitas Negeri Surabaya berkolaborasi dengan University Malaya dalam program pengabdian masyarakat berbasis performance analysis untuk tim Badminton Selangor, Malaysia. Kegiatan ini bertujuan: (1) meningkatkan pemahaman pelatih tentang analisis performa berbasis data, (2) mengoptimalkan pengambilan keputusan strategis, dan (3) mengembangkan keterampilan individu atlet. Metode pelatihan mencakup workshop teori, simulasi praktik analisis data pertandingan, dan evaluasi berbasis tools digital. Hasilnya, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan analisis, terutama dalam mengklasifikasikan karakteristik atlet berdasarkan kelompok umur dan membangun rekam jejak digital. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan ilmiah dalam kepelatihan dapat mendorong peningkatan prestasi tim secara sistematis.

Abstract

Industri pariwisata di Arab Saudi, khususnya di Jeddah, menawarkan peluang besar bagi tenaga kerja Indonesia, namun memerlukan persiapan keterampilan yang memadai. Sekolah Indonesia Jeddah (SIJ) menghadapi kendala dalam pengelolaan modern dan pendirian SMK berbasis pariwisata akibat kurangnya pemahaman teknologi, kurikulum, dan proses administratif. Tim PKM Fakultas Vokasi Universitas Negeri Surabaya merancang solusi melalui: (1) studi kebutuhan (need assessment) untuk pendirian SMK hospitality, dan (2) pelatihan peningkatan kapasitas pengelolaan sekolah dengan pendekatan Merdeka Belajar dan teknologi. Hasilnya menunjukkan 83,3% guru mendukung pendirian SMK, dengan mayoritas siswa tertarik pada Program Keahlian Akomodasi Perhotelan (58,3%). Selain itu, 83,3% guru yakin SMK akan meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan, dan 83,4% siswa puas dengan pelayanan SIJ. Luaran mencakup publikasi media online, video kegiatan di YouTube, dan naskah kerjasama (IA). Program ini penting untuk mempersiapkan tenaga kerja Indonesia yang kompetitif di sektor pariwisata Arab Saudi.

Abstract

Sepeda listrik roda tiga merupakan alternatif transportasi ramah lingkungan yang memerlukan sistem suspensi optimal untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan dan keamanan pengendara di jalan Indonesia yang masih banyak rusak dan bergelombang. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis fenomena keterbatasan sistem suspensi pasif sepeda listrik roda tiga Aviator AT 230 terhadap pencapaian standar kenyamanan dan keamanan khususnya pada kondisi jalan bumpy. Metode penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental berbasis simulasi menggunakan pemodelan quarter-car dan software MATLAB/Simulink dengan memvariasikan tiga mode kecepatan (Eco, Normal, Sport) pada profil jalan bumpy. Model matematis dibangun berdasarkan parameter kendaraan dan dianalisis untuk menghasilkan nilai RMS (Root Mean Square) percepatan vertikal sesuai Standar ISO 2631-1:1997. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa semua kombinasi mode kecepatan menghasilkan RMS percepatan di atas 1,25 m/s² yang dikategorikan sebagai sangat tidak nyaman menurut Standar ISO 2631-1:1997, dengan peningkatan signifikan sebesar 265% dari mode Eco ke mode Sport. Selain itu, defleksi suspensi pada semua mode kecepatan tetap dalam batas aman secara struktural. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa sistem suspensi pasif Aviator AT 230 memiliki keterbatasan dalam menjamin kenyamanan optimal, meskipun aman secara struktural. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan mode Eco pada jalan gunduk untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan pengendara dan memberikan dasar bagi pengembangan strategi optimasi suspensi yang lebih adaptif di masa mendatang.

Abstract

  Students in the twenty-first century need to be able to work together effectively and be actively involved in their own education. Creating interactive learning material based on flipbooks is one way to bolster these abilities. The purpose of this research is to investigate how students' collaborative abilities are impacted by the use of flipbook media and to document their reactions to the created materials. The researchers in this study used a quasi experimental (group posstest design), which meant that only one set of students received the instructional materials (flipbooks) and the associated activities. An observation sheet for teamwork abilities and a questionnaire for student feedback made up the study tools. After using flipbook media, students cooperation abilities significantly improved, as shown by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 in the comparative test on collaboration skills. In addition, the reliability test yielded a Cronbach's Alpha score of 0.846, reflecting strong reliability, and the validity test showed that all ten questionnaire questions had correlation coefficients higher than 0.361, proving that all items were valid. Evident from these results, the flipbook medium was well-received by the student. Thus, the created flipbook-based learning material is well-received and useful for improving students teamwork abilities and receives positive responses, making it suitable for use as an interactive learning medium in twenty-first century learning.   ABSTRAK Siswa di abad ke-21 perlu mampu bekerja sama secara efektif dan terlibat aktif dalam pendidikan mereka sendiri. Membuat materi pembelajaran interaktif berbasis flipbook adalah salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan ini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki bagaimana kemampuan kolaborasi siswa dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan media flipbook dan untuk mendokumentasikan reaksi mereka terhadap materi yang dibuat. Para peneliti dalam studi ini menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimental (desain posttest kelompok), yang berarti hanya satu kelompok siswa yang menerima materi pembelajaran (flipbook) dan aktivitas terkait. Lembar observasi untuk kemampuan kerja tim dan kuesioner untuk umpan balik siswa merupakan alat penelitian. Setelah menggunakan media flipbook, kemampuan kerja sama siswa meningkat secara signifikan, seperti yang ditunjukkan oleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dalam uji komparatif pada keterampilan kolaborasi. Selain itu, uji reliabilitas menghasilkan skor Alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,846, yang mencerminkan reliabilitas yang kuat, dan uji validitas menunjukkan bahwa semua sepuluh pertanyaan kuesioner memiliki koefisien korelasi lebih tinggi dari 0,361, membuktikan bahwa semua item valid. Terbukti dari hasil ini, media flipbook diterima dengan baik oleh siswa. Dengan demikian, materi pembelajaran berbasis flipbook yang dibuat diterima dengan baik dan bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kerja tim siswa serta mendapat respons positif, sehingga cocok digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh kompensasi terhadap turnover intention pada dosen tetap non-PNS di Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendorong dan penahan yang memengaruhi niat keluar dosen tersebut. Fenomena turnover intention pada dosen tetap non-PNS menjadi isu strategis dalam pengelolaan sumber daya manusia (SDM) di perguruan tinggi negeri, mengingat peran sentral mereka dalam keberlangsungan tridarma perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview) terhadap 3–5 dosen non-PNS yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dan studi dokumentasi meliputi SK pengangkatan, pedoman remunerasi, serta aturan kepegawaian. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data tematik, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan keabsahan data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber dan member checking. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada eksplorasi dimensi psikologis dan struktural turnover intention dosen non-PNS di perguruan tinggi negeri secara kualitatif, yang selama ini masih jarang dilakukan dibandingkan pendekatan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketidakpastian status kepegawaian, ketimpangan kompensasi, serta minimnya kejelasan jalur karier menjadi pendorong utama munculnya turnover intention. Namun, loyalitas dosen terhadap mahasiswa, iklim kerja kolaboratif, dan peluang pengembangan akademik menjadi faktor penahan yang memperkuat komitmen mereka untuk tetap bertahan. Kata kunci: Turnover, intention, kepegawaian, kompensasi

Abstract

One strategic effort to implement education for sustainable development is through the School Environmental Care and Culture Movement, known in Indonesia as Gerakan Peduli dan Berbudaya Lingkungan Hidup di Sekolah (PBLHS), formerly the Adiwiyata program. This community service program aimed to assist teachers at MI Miftahul Ulum Gresik in preparing a four-year PBLHS action plan, an annual PBLHS action plan, and lesson plans integrated with environmental education. The integration focused on global, local/regional, and school-based environmental issues to support the school’s readiness for the 2025 National Adiwiyata School Candidate selection. The specific target of this program was to improve teachers’ competence in developing lesson plans integrated with environmental education in accordance with Law No. 32 of 2009 on Environmental Protection and Management, Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.52/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/9/2019 on the PBLHS Movement, and Regulation No. P.53/MENLHK/SETJEN/KUM.1/9/2019 on the Adiwiyata Award. The program was conducted through direct education and training consisting of five stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, reporting, and dissemination. The preparation stage included needs assessment, development of presentation materials, and preparation of training equipment. The implementation stage involved material delivery and guided practice in preparing PBLHS planning documents and environmentally integrated lesson plans. Evaluation was carried out by reviewing the lesson plan products and collecting participants’ feedback through questionnaires. The results of this community service program included a four-year PBLHS action plan, an annual PBLHS action plan, and one lesson plan integrated with environmental aspects based on global, local/regional, and school-level issues.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effects of initiative ability, entrepreneurial ability, and self-management on the work readiness of twelfth-grade TKR vocational high school students in Lamongan Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal-comparative design. The sample consisted of 152 students, while 34 students were involved in the instrument pilot-testing stage. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 31. The results showed that all three variables had a positive and significant effect on work readiness, both partially and simultaneously, indicating that vocational learning needs to systematically strengthen students’ personal competencies.

Abstract

Transversal skills are increasingly regarded as core competencies in education because they support learners’ critical thinking, collaboration, communication, creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. However, the dispersion of research on transversal skills across various terms, contexts, and approaches necessitates a more focused synthesis. This study aims to analyse publication trends, major themes, educational contexts, research approaches, and gaps in studies on transversal skills. The study employed a systematic literature review, with reporting guided by PRISMA 2020. The search was conducted in Scopus and was limited to English-language, open-access journal articles published between 2021 and 2026. Out of the 117 records found, 16 articles met the requirements for inclusion. The review findings show that there were more publications between 2021 and 2025. The most common topics were conceptual refinement, perception-based measurement, active and collaborative pedagogy, open schooling, and the use of technology, STEM, the arts, and AI. The synthesis also shows that transversal skills are more frequently developed through authentic, collaborative, and project-based learning, although the field is still characterised by the dominance of cross-sectional designs, self-report measures, and limited use of authentic assessment. This review emphasises the need to strengthen operational definitions, expand the vocational high school/TVET context, and develop longitudinal evidence to enhance the relevance and sustainability of transversal skills development in education.
