Abstract

In the Christian faith, prayer is seen as a relationship between humans and the Divine. Related to this, Christians can find a quintessential example in the person of Jesus Christ himself. As the Son of God, through prayer, Jesus manifested the intimate, intense, and indissoluble union of the three persons of the Triune God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As a human, through prayer, Jesus demonstrated to us how humans should relate to the Divine which shows a close union. Together with Teresa of Avila, we are going to see that relationship between humans and the Divine is a true communion in which interpersonal closeness is possible, as if between close friends.

Abstract

This research aims to discuss about analysis of United States foreign policy in Afghanistan by looking at case studies of the victory of the Taliban group controlling Afghanistan in 2021. Foreign policy is a unit of analysis in international relations that is related to the national political system. This strategy carried out in foreign policy lasts if the State interacts in the form of relations with the international community in making decisions to achieve its national goals. In making broad country decisions, there is a theory expressed by Richard Snyder which says there are internal factors and external factors that influence a country in determining foreign policy. In the case of the Taliban's victory over Afghanistan in 2021, the United States' policy in responding to the conflict explained the internal and external factors that influence each other. Internal factors are influenced by the structure and social behavior of the State, where this is influenced by the ideology of the State, existing government institutions in the State, where this is influenced by the ideology of the State, existing government institutions in the State, the characteristics contained in national organizational institutions and the role of social groups in influencing decision making which are internal factors. The existence of internal and external factors then provides the results of the decision-making process that cannot be separated from action in decision-making. The conclusion, internal factors and external factors that influence the direction of the United States foreign policy in dealing with cases of conflict in Afghanistan have an impact on the victory of the Taliban group in controlling Afghanistan in 2021.

Abstract

Mangrove fruit (Sonneratia alba) is known to contain tannins. This flavonoid has antibacterial properties. It makes this fruit macerate has potential as a preservative for shrimp meat. This study aimed for determining the ability of S. alba fruit macerate to maintain the quality of vannamei shrimp meat. The study was conducted in a laboratory by exposing fresh vannamei shrimp meat to S. alba fruit macerate. Exposure was carried out by soaking shrimp meat. The concentrations of macerate used were 25, 50, 75, and 100%. The duration of soaking was 60 and 120 minutes. Bacterial population (total plate count), presence of hydrogen sulfide gas (H2S), acidity value (pH), and score of organoleptic were used as indicators of Shrimp meat quality. The tests were conducted after 24 hours of incubating shrimp meat at room temperature. The results showed the concentration of macerate and the time of soaking affected the quality of the shrimp meat. These effects were in the form of inhibition of bacterial populations, production of H2S and maintaining organoleptic properties, while the pH values ​​of all treatments were the same. Finally, the best concentration of macerate to maintain the quality of fresh vannamei shrimp meat is 100% with 60 minutes of soaking time.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mempertimbangkan wacana pemilihan gubernur DKI Jakarta oleh presiden. Wacana ini bisa dianggap sebagai jalan keluar dari kegaduhan politik yang ditimbulkan akibat pemilihan gubernur (pilgub) DKI Jakarta. Pilgub DKI Jakarta bermuara pada iklim politik yang tidak sehat. Polarisasi masyarakat semakin menguat dan itu tidak hanya terjadi di DKI Jakarta tetapi seluruh pelosok negeri. Masyarakat yang secara politik tidak terkait dengan DKI Jakarta pun turut ambil bagian dalam memanaskan situasi politik. Instabilitas politik di DKI Jakarta bisa berdampak pada instabilitas ekonomi. Tulisan ini berusaha menelaah wacana pemilihan gubernur DKI Jakarta oleh presiden dengan menggunakan konsep desentralisasi asimetris. Ada dua mekanisme yang bisa digunakan, yakni mekanisme “minimum demokrasi prosedural” dan “zero demokrasi prosedural”. Studi literatur digunakan untuk menyintesiskan data-data dan argumentasi yang dibangun oleh penulis. Harapannya, tulisan ini bisa memberikan pemikiran dan alternatif baru dalam khazanah ilmu politik, khususnya dalam kajian mengenai pemilihan kepala daerah.

Abstract

Students learning experiences are affected by the spread of Covid-19 in cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains. This research investigates the university students' experience using the Microsoft Teams application in online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The experience includes their perception, problems, and how they use Microsoft Teams daily. It is descriptive quantitative research under a case study. The participants were 97 university students consisting of 50 female and 47 male students spread over various universities. The data collection techniques were questionnaires and five open-ended questions. The questionnaires were analyzed using the Likert scale through SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), while five open-ended questions were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The results showed that the students had a good experience using Microsoft Teams. They also have much improvement in English skills, especially in speaking skills. However, they needed help using Microsoft Teams, had unstable internet connections, and found it hard to improve their reading skills. Nonetheless, students hope that this application will continue to be used during online learning with some improvements so that learning using this application can take place more effectively and efficiently. This study implies that Microsoft Teams can support English skill development in an online learning environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja keuangan dengan analisis rasio pada perusahaan telekomunikasi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia yaitu PT Telkomsel Tbk, PT Indosat Tbk dan PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang menggunakan data sekunder yaitu data keuangan yang diambil dari Bursa Efek Indonesia. Alat analisis yang digunakan yaitu berupa analisis rasio. Rasio yang digunakan ada empat rasio yaitu rasio likuiditas yang terdiri dari current ratio, quick ratio, lalu rasio aktivitas yang terdiri dari receivable turnover, inventory turnover, dan total asset turnover, selanjutnya rasio solvabilitas yang terdiri dari debt to asset ratio dan debt to equity ratio, dan yang terakhir adalah rasio profitabilitas yang terdiri dari net profit margin, return on investment, dan return on equity. Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa jika dihitung dari rasio likuiditas, maka dapat dilihat dari current ratio yang menunjukkan bahwa ketiga perusahaan ini berada di dalam kondisi yang buruk karena rasionya berada di bawah 200 persen, begitu pula dalam quick ratio. Dalam rasio likuiditas, perusahaan tersebut dikatakan baik jika rasionya mencapai 200 persen karena itu berarti 200 aktiva lancar dapat menutupi 100 hutang lancar, yang berarti memiliki perbandingan sebesar 2:1. Jadi jika ditinjau dari rasio likuiditas maka ketiga perusahaan ini masih belum bisa dikatakan sebagai perusahaan yang likuid. Jika dilihat dari rasio aktivitasnya, ketiga perusahaan ini memiliki rasio yang bagus yang berarti ketiga perusahaan ini dapat mengelola piutang, persediaan, dan total aset dengan cukup baik. Jika dilihat dari rasio solvabilitasnya maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa hanya PT Telkomsel Tbk yang dapat dikatakan sebagai perusahaan yang solvable. Begitu juga dengan rasio profitabilitasnya, yang menunjukkan bahwa PT Telkomsel Tbk dapatmemperoleh laba yang lebih banyak jika dibandingkan dengan PT Indosat Tbk dan PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk. Jadi dari sini dapat kita simpulkan bahwa PT Telkomsel Tbk mempunyai kinerja keuangan yang terbaik.

Abstract

The Use of meta-UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) Model to Understand the Acceptance and Use of Information Technology Competency E-Learning Modules in Brawijaya University Students. One of the uses of e-learning in Brawijaya University is in information technology (IT) certification for students. To prepare the certification exam, they can study online e-learning modules. This research aims to understand the acceptance and use of e-learning modules of IT certification among students. This study used quantitative descriptive methods and meta-UTAUT model. Data collection was done using a stratified random sampling approach with 3479 respondents. Data analysis used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method and Partial Least Squares (PLS) with WarpPLS 8.0. The study results indicated that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence have a positive effect on attitude and behavioral intention. Facilitating conditions, perceived information security, and compatibility influence attitudes. Resistance to change, perceived enjoyment, and perceived social pressure influence behavioral intention. However, facilitating conditions, personal innovativeness in IT, and compatibility have no effect on behavioral intention. In addition, perceived social pressure has no effect on attitude.

Abstract

Tikus merupakan hewan pengerat yang sering menimbulkan kerugian khususnya di rumah maupun di lingkungan industri. Kerugian yang ditimbulkan diantaranya yaitu perilaku menjijikan, gangguan kesehatan, dan kerusakan peralatan. Tikus memiliki jangkauan pendengaran mulai dari frekuensi 5 KHz hingga 60 KHz. Upaya pengendalian populasi tikus lainnya dapat dilakukan menggunakan bahan kimia beracun, tetapi dinilai dapat mengganggu ekosistem. Berdasarkan latar belakang maka terdapat beberapa masalah yaitu, bagaimana cara membuat sistem deteksi pergerakan tikus menggunakan frekuensi suara ultrasonik, akurasi pendeteksian sensor Passive Infra Red (PIR), dan pengaruh frekuensi suara ultrasonik terhadap tikus. Metode penelitian ini dimulai dari identifikasi masalah, perancangan alat, pengujian alat, dan analisis data. Pengembangan pada penelitian ini yaitu mendeteksi pergerakan tikus dengan mengeluarkan suara ultrasonik. Sensor PIR digunakan untuk mendeteksi pergerakan tikus. Proses perancangan melibatkan komponen elektronik dan pengaturan suara ultrasonik. Uji akurasi digunakan untuk memastikan sensor hanya merespon pergerakan tikus.  Pada pengujian membuktikan sistem ini berhasil dan efektif dalam mengusir tikus. Penelitian ini melibatkan sistem pendeteksian tikus menggunakan tiga titik sensor PIR. Sensor PIR diuji dan terbukti berfungsi dengan baik, menghasilkan output 1 untuk mendeteksi pergerakan dan 0 untuk tidak ada pergerakan. Hasil pengujian sistem menunjukkan bahwa speaker yang digunakan menghasilkan output Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) pada rentang frekuensi 15 kHz hingga 50 kHz. Pengujian menggunakan tikus sebagai objek menunjukkan bahwa tikus terganggu oleh suara ultrasonik. Output speaker berhasil pada rentang frekuensi rata-rata lebih dari 20 kHz saat mendeteksi keberadaan tikus.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are an important part of the economy of a country or region, including Indonesia. The development of the MSME sector provides its own meaning in efforts to increase economic growth and in efforts to reduce the poverty rate in a country. The role of sharia microfinance plays an important role in business development for MSMEs. The aim is to find out whether MSME actors have run their businesses using sharia microfinancing and what role sharia microfinance plays in business development for these MSME actors. This research is field research using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The interview this time consisted of several MSME actors in the Telanaipura District, Jambi City. The results of this research are MSME actors in Telanaipura District who have run their businesses by carrying out sharia micro financing and the important role of sharia micro financing in business development for these MSME actors.

Abstract

This study identifies the critical thinking activities employed in listening comprehension exercises and the way the activities facilitate students' listening comprehension. The study employs content analysis to explore integrating critical thinking activities in listening comprehension exercises. The study involves the listening exercise source, namely a textbook entitled Real Listening and Speakingoye Three by Miles Craven. The result of the study shows that critical thinking activities include identifying the situation and the factors that may influence it, locating the basis for the research that is presented to understand the big picture, learning how to avoid personal biases, and "evaluate information objectively," using the knowledge to make logical inferences, and figuring out what information is the most important and relevant to the situation. Meanwhile, developing the practice of curiosity asking open-ended questions and following up on the answers is not found. The listening skills facilitated by these activities include finding general information, identifying the communicative purpose, finding specific information, and making a conclusion. This study significantly models English teachers to design listening comprehension exercises that promote students' listening comprehension and critical thinking skills.
