Abstract

The implementation of the Local Cultural Curriculum in Lembata Regency has not been comprehensively evaluated, despite its formal mandate under Lembata Regent Regulation No. 77 of 2022. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Local Cultural Curriculum of Lembata by examining the policy formulation process, curriculum implementation in instructional practice, and evaluation mechanisms at the school level using Anderson’s Evaluation Model. This research employed a qualitative case study design, using SMP Negeri 2 Nubatukan and SMP Negeri Satu Atap 92 Bean as research sites. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation, while data analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results show that the policy formulation process involved relevant stakeholders and reflected the objective of cultural preservation, although documentation of the process remains limited. Curriculum implementation has begun in schools; however, it faces challenges, including limited learning resources, uneven teacher competencies, and insufficient technical support from the local government. In addition, evaluation mechanisms have not been optimally implemented due to the absence of a structured monitoring and supervision system from the Education Office. Overall, the implementation of the Local Cultural Curriculum demonstrates initial positive progress but requires strengthened resources, systematic supervision, and continuous evaluation to achieve its cultural preservation objectives through formal education effectively.

Abstract

Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi analisis data penelitian dosen dan alumni melalui pelatihan intensif penggunaan perangkat lunak R. Kegiatan dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya literasi statistik dan keterbatasan penggunaan perangkat lunak analisis data terbuka di kalangan akademisi. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan tiga tahap yang mencakup pelatihan dasar, pendampingan terapan, dan evaluasi berkelanjutan selama delapan bulan. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan analisis data peserta ditinjau dari rata-rata kenaikan skor pre-test ke post-test sebesar 17%. Peserta juga menunjukkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam menggunakan R sebagai alat utama analisis statistik. Selain peningkatan individu, kegiatan ini berdampak pada penguatan jejaring akademik melalui terbentuknya komunitas belajar daring yang mendorong kolaborasi riset antar perguruan tinggi. Program ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis partisipatif dan kontekstual efektif dalam membangun kapasitas akademik yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pelaksanaan pembelajaran berbasis kasus belum banyak diterapkan di lingkungan SMK, padahal pendekatan ini efektif dalam membangun keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kontekstual siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual, keterampilan perencanaan, dan motivasi guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran dan penilaian berbasis case-method. Metode pelaksanaan mencakup pelatihan, workshop, dan pendampingan yang melibatkan 16 guru SMK. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan Model Kirkpatrick pada tiga level: reaksi, pembelajaran, dan perilaku. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor pemahaman dari 67,8 menjadi 83,1 (naik 15,3 poin atau 22,6%), serta 75% peserta berhasil menerapkan RPP berbasis kasus di kelas. Temuan ini menunjukkan keberhasilan pelatihan dalam menjembatani kesenjangan antara teori dan praktik. Kegiatan ini merekomendasikan pendampingan lintas mata pelajaran serta studi lanjutan tentang dampak penerapan metode ini terhadap hasil belajar siswa.Abstract: The case-based learning approach has not been widely implemented in vocational high schools (SMK), despite its effectiveness in fostering students' critical and contextual thinking skills. This community engagement program aimed to enhance teachers' conceptual understanding, instructional planning skills, and motivation to implement case-method-based teaching and assessment. The program involved training sessions, workshops, and mentoring activities with 16 teachers. Evaluation was conducted using the Kirkpatrick Model at three levels: reaction, learning, and behavior. The results indicated an increase in the average comprehension score from 67.8 to 83.1 (a gain of 15.3 points or 22.6%), and 75% of the participants successfully implemented case-based lesson plans in their classrooms. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the training program in bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical implementation. The activity recommends follow-up mentoring across subject areas and further applied research on the impact of case-method implementation on student learning outcomes.
