Abstract

This study examines the effect of ownership structure and firm characteristics on the intensity of transfer pricing practices. Transfer pricing remains an important issue due to its potential misuse for profit shifting among affiliated entities to achieve tax efficiency. This issue has increasingly attracted the attention of regulators in Indonesia due to the risk of tax avoidance arising from such practices that may erode government tax revenue. This study uses unbalanced panel data from 820 non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020-2024, resulting in 4.084 firm-year observations. The findings indicate that foreign ownership, profitability, leverage, and financial distress increase the intensity of transfer pricing practices, whereas institutional ownership does not show a significant relationship. These findings imply that companies facing higher financial pressure and certain ownership structures tend to have stronger incentives to engage in transfer pricing practices. Accordingly, tax regulators should strengthen monitoring of companies with higher risk indicators related to transfer pricing activities.

Abstract

Accounting material is often an obstacle for high school students because this material requires strong calculation and analysis, including at MA Al Huda Kedu.  For this reason, it is necessary to have learning innovations carried out by teachers, one of which can be used is the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by 3D MatchJU in improving student learning outcomes. This study used a quantitative approach with a one group pretest posttest research design with a population of 32 students. The sample was taken using saturated sampling technique, but the data obtained were only 21 students. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test and the N-Gain test. The results showed that there was a difference in the average student learning outcomes before and after the TGT model treatment assisted by 3D MatchJU media. In addition, the use of TGT model assisted by 3D MatchJU media is effective in improving learning outcomes in the medium effectiveness category. This study implies that the use of non-digital physical media, such as 3D MatchJU can be used to improve students' accounting skills.

Abstract

Technological advancements have influenced the use of digital media in economics learning. Digital media is believed to provide an interactive and efficient learning experience while expanding access to learning resources. However, research on the effectiveness of Google Sites as an interactive learning medium remains limited, particularly for the topic of scarcity. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using Google Sites to enhance students’ understanding of scarcity concepts in tenth-grade classes. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through unstructured interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis of student assignments uploaded to Google Drive. The informants consisted of one economics teacher and 18 tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Ungaran. The findings indicate that Google Sites is effective in: (1) presenting scarcity materials visually and interactively, (2) increasing student engagement, and (3) supporting independent learning. The main challenges include internet dependency and the need for teacher training in digital content development. This study recommends integrating Google Sites with a flipped classroom model.

Abstract

Low economics learning outcomes and the dominance of conventional teaching highlight the need for instructional innovation that promotes students’ cognitive engagement. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Powtoon-based animated media in improving students’ understanding of scarcity. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design was employed. Using purposive sampling, one class was assigned as the experimental group receiving PBL assisted by Powtoon, while another served as the control group with conventional instruction. Data were collected through a validated and reliable multiple-choice test. Prior to hypothesis testing, prerequisite analyses were conducted, followed by an independent sample t-test, while learning improvement was measured using the N-Gain score. The results indicated that the PBL-Powtoon integration significantly enhanced students’ learning outcomes and proved more effective than conventional methods. The improvement was categorized as high, particularly in students’ abilities to understand, analyze, and evaluate economic concepts. Overall, integrating problem-based learning with digital animated media constitutes an effective and innovative strategy to improve the quality of economics learning at the senior high school level.

Abstract

Students’ interest in participating in the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) represents a critical issue in the preparation of future educators, while studies examining the mediating role of motivation to become a teacher remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effects of perceptions of PPG, the School Field Introduction Program (PLP), and perceptions of teachers’ welfare on students’ interest in enrolling in PPG, with motivation to become a teacher serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, involving students of Economics Education at Universitas Negeri Semarang, and the data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that perceptions of PPG and motivation to become a teacher have positive effects on students’ interest in PPG, with motivation emerging as the most influential factor. Additionally, perceptions of teachers’ welfare exert an indirect effect through motivation, whereas PLP experience does not show a significant influence. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening positive perceptions of PPG and enhancing motivation to become a teacher in order to increase students’ interest in participating in the program.
