Abstract

The research aims to develop an Android-based Augmented-Virtual Reality learning medium on digestive system materials for junior high school on human digestive system materials. The study implemented an instructional design model based on ADDIE, with eight classroom meetings to assess student learning outcomes. Pretest and posttest scores were used to calculate the N-gain score, reflecting the students’ improvement in understanding the material. The study involved 40 students. The results showed a significant improvement in student performance, with an N-gain score of 0.62, indicating moderate learning gains. The practical application of the media was deemed feasible, and students reported high levels of engagement and satisfaction with the media. These findings suggest that the learning media effectively supported the students' comprehension and engagement in science, and the use of the ADDIE model provided a structured approach to assessing its impact on learning. The creation of Augmented-Virtual Reality on Assemblr edu and MilleaLab application also seems simple so that it can be easy for developers to create the desired material.       Keywords: learning media, augmented-virtual reality, assemblr edu, millealab, ADDIEDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1297-1316

Abstract

Getaran Harmonis Sederhana (GHS) adalah gerakan bolak-balik suatu benda melalui titik keseimbangannya dengan frekuensi dan amplitudo yang konstan. Pendulum sederhana merupakan bentuk eksperimen yang umum digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk menjelaskan konsep getaran harmonis sederhana yakni suatu sistem yang bergerak dan bergetar secara periodik yang terdiri dari benda dengan massa tertentu yang diikat dan dikaitkan dengan benang atau tali tak bermassa (dengan massa yang diabaikan). Bandul adalah benda yang digantung pada tali atau batang dan dapat berayun bolak-balik melalui titik keseimbangannya. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi frekuensi ayunan bandul yaitu panjang tali, percepatan gravitasi, dan massa bandul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan pengaruh panjang tali terhadap frekuensi getaran ayunan bandul pada massa yang berbeda. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode eksperimen dengan memvariasikan panjang tali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa frekuensi getaran berbanding terbalik dengan panjang tali. Artinya, semakin panjang tali, semakin kecil frekuensi getarannya. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui hasil eksperimen pendulum sederhana yakni pada data perbandingan pada panjang tali yang berbeda.

Abstract

Physics learning is rarely associated with local wisdom, so many people think the local arts have a separate topic from scientific study. This research analyzes the equilibrium concepts at Tari Banjarkemuning from Sidoarjo, East Java. This qualitative research uses content analysis techniques divided into six steps: unitizing, sampling, coding, reducing, inferring, and narrating. The data were collected by observation, documentation, and interviews. The research indicates that the equilibrium concept at Tari Banjarkemuning is the condition of equilibrium and the center of mass. The equilibrium state is shown in the motion of Embat-Embat and Solah Kembang Turi at the Sagah position (the silent moment of the dancers while inclined the bodies sideways and backward). Then, the center of mass is shown in the motion of Kejer (the dancers raise one leg) and Kencrongan (the dancers at the Tanjak position open- dancers’ legs perpendicularly at the knee). The integration of Tari Banjarkemuning in learning activities is expected for students to understand physics concepts easily. At the same time, it can make meaningful physics learning and build a better character for students.

Abstract

We used a qualitative approach with an explanatory case study method to examine students' conceptual understandings of plant growth and development before and after using the VLab Plantae application. Task-based interviews were applied to 12 ninth-grade students from class IX. Before and After interview, their conceptual understandings of four domains were examined, i.e., imbibition, germination, growth factors, and the growth process. The students were tasked to work with VLab Plantae based on interview protocols. The findings show that VLab Plantae improves students’ conceptual understandings, with the most significant gains in imbibition. Students grasped germination and growth processes through visual experiments with red beans and corn seeds. While all concepts in the four domain were identified during the use of VLab Plantae, our study suggests that teachers remain crucial in guiding students to use the VLab Plantae to comprehend the related concepts.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the impact of a STEAM-based biogas project-based learning approach on the creativity of seventh-grade students at MTs Negeri 06 Jember. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. It involved 25 students. The students were divided into three groups. For two weeks, students carried out a biogas prototyping project with different organic waste materials and varied fermentation methods. The research instruments included creativity observation sheets and LKPD assessment, with creativity indicators including originality of ideas, flexibility of thinking, integration across STEAM disciplines, visual expression, and perseverance. The results showed that all groups succeeded in developing a simple biogas model and obtained creativity scores and LKPD scores in the good to excellent category. STEAM project-based learning proved effective in improving students' creative thinking skills, understanding of science concepts, and environmental awareness. Thus, this approach is recommended to be applied in environment-based contextual learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

The research is based on challenges in learning, especially in nervous system material, where there are often misconceptions in students about the course of neural impulses and understanding the structure of the nervous system in humans. The purpose of the research is to develop learning media in the form of 3D-MbL puzzle media to help junior high school students understand the concept of nervous system material and conduct a SWOT analysis of the learning media. The research method used is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques through observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The instrument used in this study is a validation sheet by two validators, namely material validation and media validation. 3D-MbL puzzle media is made using several tools and materials, with the main ingredients being made using flannel and analyzed using the SWOT method. The study's primary results show that 3D-MbL puzzle media can attract students' interest and hone creative thinking skills during learning. However, there are challenges, such as the media needing help to explain in detail the process of neural impulses and other essential concepts in the material of the nervous system. The opportunity of this 3D-MbL puzzle media can be used as an exciting anatomy of the human body, and the threat is that students do not understand how to use it if the teacher does not clearly explain the use of the media. In conclusion, 3D-MbL puzzle media for the nervous system offers innovations in delivering science learning materials. However, further improvements are needed so that this media can be more optimal in delivering learning materials.

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the Physics students' thought patterns concern-ing the greenhouse effect. Descriptive analysis was used, including the set of qualitative data. These data were then interpreted for their idea and content inductively to recognize students' thoughts and models concerning the greenhouse effect. The result confirmed three patterns of the students' thoughts concerning the greenhouse effect (patterns A, B, and C). The model covered different concepts, mechanisms, and processes of the greenhouse effect. The students' knowledge from science teacher explanations and books is not the only learning source concerning the educational environment. The issue and broadcast media frequently carry out confusing the concepts. This research is expected to provide physics teachers critical information to develop appropriate teaching methods and strategies concerning these topics.

Abstract

Pembelajaran IPA menumbuhkan rasa ingin tahu dan membentuk sikap positif terhadap sains. Pembelajaran IPA di abad 21 menuntut peserta didik memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kreatif, sehingga diperlukan media pembelajaran inovatif berbasis Engineering Design Process (EDP). Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pemanfaatan media pembelajaran berbasis EDP pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMP melalui studi literatur. Pencarian literatur melalui Google Scholar dan Garuda Jurnal dengan rentang publikasi tahun 2015 sampai 2025 yang mencakup artikel bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis terhadap artikel-artikel yang relevan terhadap hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran seperti LKPD, LKS, Modul yang berbasis EDP berpengaruh signifikkan bagi siswa dan mempunyai persepsi positif bagi guru. EDP terdiri dari beberapa kemampuan yaitu asking, imagining, planning, creating, dan improving. Disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis EDP layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran IPA karena dinyatakan efektif mendukung pengembangan kompetensi abad 21.

Abstract

Abad ke- 21 menuntut siswa memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis, kreatif, kolaboratif, dan komunikatif (4C’s), namun, pembelajaran IPA di SMP masih didominasi oleh pendekatan konvensional yang kurang mendukung pengembangan kreativitas ilmiah siswa. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara teoritis integrasi ecoliteracy dalam pengembangan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) untuk menumbuhkan kreativitas ilmiah siswa SMP pada pembelajaran IPA. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan menganalisis berbagai sumber teoritis dan hasil penelitian terkait ecoliteracy, kreativitas ilmia, dan pengembangan LKPD. Hasil kajian telah menunjukkan bahwa integrasi ecoliteracy dalam LKPD berpotensi menciptakan pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan interaktif, serta mendorong siswa berpikir ilmiah dan kreatif dalam menghadapi permasalahan lingkungan. Kajian ini memberikan landasan teoritis bagi pengembangan perangkat pembelajara IPA yang mampu menghubungkan pengetahuan ilmiah dengan kepedulian lingkungan secara solutif.

Abstract

Di era revolusi industri 4.0, pengembangan scientific creativity pada siswa menjadi aspek krusial dalam pendidikan sains. Penelitian ini melakukan kajian sistematis terhadap 10 artikel penelitian terpublikasi antara tahun 2015-2023 untuk menganalisis efektivitas berbagai model pembelajaran inovatif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas ilmiah siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan systematic review dengan tahapan identifikasi, evaluasi, interpretasi, dan sintesis terhadap artikel-artikel terkait dari database Scopus, Google Scholar, dan Science Direct. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (project-based learning) menunjukkan dampak signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir divergen siswa. Sementara itu, model pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri (inquiry-based learning) efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan merumuskan hipotesis dan merancang eksperimen kreatif. Integrasi teknologi digital seperti simulasi virtual dan augmented reality juga terbukti mampu menstimulasi imajinasi ilmiah siswa. Faktor kunci pendukung meliputi: (1) desain pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada masalah autentik, (2) lingkungan belajar yang mendorong eksplorasi bebas, dan (3) sistem penilaian yang mengakomodasi orisinalitas ide. Implikasi penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya pengembangan kerangka kerja pedagogis yang mengintegrasikan dimensi kreativitas dalam kurikulum sains, serta pentingnya pelatihan guru dalam menerapkan strategi pembelajaran inovatif.
