Abstract

Indonesia is renowned for having some of the highest biodiversity levels in the world, which includes a wide variety of fern species (Pteridophyta). This study aims to identify and describe the fern species found in the Lemor Botanical Forest Area, East Lombok. The research used a descriptive-exploratory method with a cruise method approach, allowing direct observation and sampling in the field. The results showed a total of 9 fern families belonging to 20 species, with 50 individual plants recorded. The dominant family found was Pteridaceae, comprising 5 species. The species diversity was analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, which yielded a value of 2.86, indicating a moderate level of species diversity. These findings demonstrate the ecological potential of the Lemor Botanical Forest Area in supporting the sustainability of fern species, and provide important baseline data for future biodiversity conservation and management efforts in tropical forest ecosystems.  In conclusion, in the Lemor Botanical Garden Forest area of East Lombok, 9 families of ferns have been identified.

Abstract

Penulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui laboratorium virtual atau yang biasa disebut dengan V-lab sebagai suatu media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu peserta didikdalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dalam proses pembelajaran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitafif dengan teknik analisis induktif berupa pengumpulan data triangulasi, dimana teknik pengumpulan data yang bersifat menggabungkan dari berbagai teknik pengumpulan data dan sumber data yang telah ada. Data dikumpulkan melalui kegiatan kajian pustaka dari beberapa sumber, seperti buku teks dan jurnal terakreditasi. Berdasarkan kajian pustaka dapat disimpulkan bahwa V-lab merupakan suatu media berbasis komputer yang berisi simulasi kegiatan di laboratorium. Jenis V-lab berkembang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. V-lab juga mendukung kegiatan pembelajaran di tingkat sekolah dan perguruan tinggi dan V-lab juga memiliki kelebihan yang dapat membantu dalam proses pembelajaran dan disamping itu memiliki beberapa kelemahan

Abstract

Biology learning in high school often faces challenges due to students’ reliance on teacher explanations and conventional textbooks, which tend to be less engaging and limit the development of critical and entrepreneurial skills. To address this issue, innovative teaching materials are needed that not only improve students’ understanding of biological concepts but also foster creativity and independence through entrepreneurship-based approaches. This study aims to develop and test the validity of biopreneurship-based biology teaching materials for high school students. The research employed a 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) with a focus on the first three stages. Validation of the teaching materials was conducted by three expert validators using questionnaires, and the results were analyzed with the Aiken index. The construct validity assessment produced values ranging from 0.58 to 0.94, while content validity ranged from 0.63 to 0.75, both categorized as valid. Additionally, the readability test using the Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level showed that most of the text fell within the easy-to-moderate range, making it suitable for high school students. These findings indicate that the developed materials meet the scientific and pedagogical standards required for classroom use. Furthermore, the integration of biopreneurship elements into the biology content provides an innovative approach that not only enhances students’ conceptual understanding but also motivates them to develop an entrepreneurial spirit, particularly in managing biological resources. Overall, this study concludes that the developed teaching materials are valid, relevant, and beneficial for high school biology learning, making biology both meaningful and applicable to students’ real-life contexts.

Abstract

Biological literacy and scientific attitudes are important aspects that need to be developed in students because they are related to the ability to understand biological concepts contextually and foster scientific thinking. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' biological literacy and scientific attitudes. The type of research used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 58 eleventh-grade students at MAN Lombok Barat, selected using purposive sampling, with the experimental class receiving PBL instruction and the control class receiving conventional instruction. Data were collected through validated biology literacy tests and scientific attitude questionnaires. Data analysis techniques included mean value comparisons and ANCOVA tests using SPSS version 26. The results showed that the average biology literacy score in the experimental class increased from 53.8 to 72.5, while the control class increased from 53.5 to 76.6. In terms of scientific attitude, the experimental class improved from 32 to 36.9, while the control class increased from 36 to 37.2. The results of the ANCOVA test revealed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes in biological literacy, with a p-value of 0.004 (p < 0.05). Similarly, in the scientific attitude, a significant difference was observed with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the application of PBL has a significant effect on improving students' scientific attitudes; however, its effect on biology literacy is less optimal than that of conventional learning. This is thought to be influenced by time constraints and other external factors that cannot be fully controlled during the research.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important in sharing aspects of life in the current and future era of globalization and information. An important aspect of critical thinking is literacy. Literacy abilities within the scope of Natural Sciences refer to scientific literacy. The critical thinking test results show that students' critical thinking components must still be developed. This paper discusses developing and validating a critical thinking measurement instrument for prospective science-biology teacher students based on Megapodidae bird ecotourism. The aim is to develop and assess the validity, reliability, and characteristics of critical thinking skills instruments so that they can be used to measure critical thinking skills in Science-Biology prospective teacher students. Product development in the form of critical thinking skills test instruments in Biology learning for prospective teacher students at FKIP Unram. Instrument development is carried out in four steps: identifying indicators, developing collection items, making validity checks, and improving item quality. Instrument validation is by a learning expert from FKIP Unram. Essay form questions consist of 21 items with difficulty levels at medium and high levels. The results of expert validation analysis using Aiken's V method for each aspect are classified as valid with a value of 0.79. The instrument developed can be used as a valid and reliable measure of critical thinking ability.

Abstract

The demand for high-quality human resources is increasingly needed because the industrial world requires the readiness of prospective workers and the creation of more jobs. More entrepreneurial power is needed to create new jobs and cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit early. This study analyzes the relationship between cognitive learning outcomes and student entrepreneurial motivation in biology subjects in class XI MA NW Narmada. The type of research used is quantitative descriptive research with correlational research methods. The population in this study was female students in grades XI, totaling 198. The sampling method used purposive sampling with a sample of XI MIPA Putri class students totaling 88. The data collection method is a survey research method using a questionnaire on entrepreneurial motivation and report card documents. The data analysis technique used in this study is the Pearson product-moment correlation test. The results showed a significant relationship between cognitive learning outcomes and student entrepreneurial motivation, with a significance value of 0.035 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of -0.225. The correlation index is in a low category so that the relationship between the two variables is negatively correlated and classified as low, which indicates that if the value of entrepreneurial motivation is high, the student's cognitive learning outcomes are low, and vice versa if the learning outcomes are high, the value of entrepreneurial motivation is low.

Abstract

The questioning ability is the foundation for building students' thinking skills in finding solutions to problems. This study aimed to determine the effect of the project-based learning model on the ability to ask questions of biology students in class X SMAN 7 Mataram. Quasi-experimental method and Nonrandomized Control Group Design were used in this study with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was class X SMAN 7 Mataram, and random sampling was used as a sampling technique so that four classes were obtained as samples with details of class XG and XF as the experimental group while XK and XL as the control group. The instrument used is Questioning Skills. Data collection of students' questioning skills is done by making five questions, then analyzed by anacova (analysis of covariance) at the 5% significance level using the SPSS 21 program. The results of hypothesis testing in this study show an effect of the project-based learning model on the ability to ask biology students in class X SMAN 7 Mataram.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi mempunyai peran yang sangat penting dalam perkembangan dunia pendidikan. Proses pembelajaran di kelas menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi menjadi lebih mudah dalam mencari informasi, menampilkan konsep yang abstrak dan simbolik, pengelolaan dan transfer ilmu. Dengan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi (modul elektronik) dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir siswa dan meningkatkan kemampuan guru secara profesional. Kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi perlu ditingkatkan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut diperlukan pelatihan pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan modul elektronik (e-modul) berbasis inkuiri terintegrasi pendidikan karakter. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahapan, yaitu 1) Koordinasi dengan semua pihak terkait; 2) Pelatihan tentang pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi; 3) Pendampingan dalam pembuatan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi oleh guru; 4) Focus Group Discussion (FGD) pada beberapa masalah yang terjadi, solusi dan rencana tindak lanjutnya. Peserta diberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan secara intensif mulai dari cara penggunaan modul elektronik Penggunaan E-modul dianggap mampu untuk menjawab keresahan dari guru dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran sesuai dengan implementasi kurikulum merdeka belajar di sekolah. E-Modul dapat mentransferkan peran dan fungsi konten dalam belajar mengajar menjadi luwes dan fleksibel. Manfaat secara nyata bahwa, siswa lebih mudah mengakses panduan belajar dan termotivasi untuk belajar lebih baik. Penggunaan E-modul dalam pembelajaran akan mempermudah guru untuk menyampaikan materi ajar ke siswa, siswa dapat membaca kapanpun dan dimanapun dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi atau web yang dapat diakses menggunakan handpone.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan kelompok usia yang rentan terhadap pengaruh lingkungan dan perubahan sosial. Pada masa ini, cenderung masih emosional dan labil. Tantangan yang dihadapi remaja saat ini adalah maraknya penggunaan zat adiktif, dalam berbagai bentuk seperti rokok, alkohol, maupun narkotika. Penggunaan zat adiktif di kalangan remaja tidak hanya mengancam kesehatan fisik, tetapi juga berdampak buruk pada perkembangan mental dan sosial. Selain itu, dapat menyebabakan penyempitan pembuluh darah, penyakit jantung coroner, naiknya kadar gula secara drastis, kemandulan, impoten, meningkatnya kadar lemak yang ada dalam tubuh dan meningkatnya kelahiran prematur, pendidikan, dan kehidupan sehari-hari secara keseluruhan. Kesehatan remaja merupakan aspek penting yang harus mendapatkan perhatian serius dari berbagai pihak. Oleh karena itu, sosialisasinya pada siswa mengenai dampak negatifnya terhadap kesehatan menjadi penting.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe scientific literacy and character education in 21st century science learning and to examine, describe the suitability of scientific literacy and character education for 21st century science lessons. Scientific literacy is the ability to understand science, communicate science, and apply science abilities to solving problems, in the process of learning scientific literacy is easily associated with science subjects. Scientific literacy and character education assist students in developing their potential and character values for competitiveness in the 21st century. In this study, the literature review method was used, namely by placing, obtaining, reading, and evaluating various related or related research literature. with the problem to be studied. The data described are the results of research on scientific literacy and character education in the 21st century, which have been carried out by previous researchers. The results of the literature review found that scientific literacy and character education can be integrated in 21st century science learning.
