Abstract

This study aims to investigate the management of iPad integration in enhancing student motivation and academic achievement at Singapore International School (SIS) Palembang. Specifically, it examines (1) how iPad use is managed to boost motivation, (2) its impact on academic performance, and (3) the challenges and solutions in its implementation. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and school administrators. The results reveal that iPad management follows a systematic cycle: planning (school policies and teacher training), organizing (structured role distribution), implementing (active, technology-driven lessons), and evaluating (digital assessments and stakeholder feedback). The findings demonstrate that iPads significantly increase student motivation by fostering engagement, collaboration, and personalized learning, while also improving academic outcomes through enhanced 21st-century skills. Key challenges include screen time concerns, device dependency, and technical issues. The study’s novelty lies in its holistic analysis of iPad management within a Southeast Asian international school context, bridging gaps between policy, pedagogy, and practical barriers. Practical implications highlight the need for adaptive policies, ongoing teacher training, and robust evaluation frameworks to optimize technology integration. This research contributes to the discourse on digital education by providing a replicable model for balancing technological innovation with sustainable educational practices.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively describe how the Independent Curriculum is implemented at SD Negeri 02 Palembang, particularly in the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages of learning. The Independent Curriculum itself is a new policy in Indonesian education that emphasizes student-centered learning, character building, and provides more flexibility for teachers to design learning processes according to the context and needs of students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct field observations, and documentation of learning activities. Key informants consisted of the principal, several teachers, and students from the upper grades. The results showed that the planning of the Independent Curriculum at SD Negeri 02 Palembang was carried out collaboratively, with the development of teaching modules and learning tools tailored to predetermined learning outcomes. In practice, learning takes place in a participatory manner with a variety of approaches, including the use of project-based methods designed to develop the Pancasila Student Profile in students. Learning evaluation is conducted continuously through formative and summative assessments, supported by diagnostic assessments that assist teachers in designing strategies for future learning improvements. Although the implementation of the Independent Curriculum faced several obstacles, such as limited resources and uneven teacher understanding of the new curriculum, the school remains strongly committed to implementing the Independent Curriculum in a phased and sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the experiences of women wearing the hijab in facing gender sexism on the TikTok platform, especially related to Muslim fashion trends. Through a digital ethnographic approach, this research analyzes the content, comments, and social interactions of ten active participants in the TikTok hijab fashion community who have experienced or witnessed negative comments. The research results show that the TikTok platform, with its algorithm that personalizes content, helps reinforce gender bias through repeated exposure to negative comments and stereotypes. These findings also reveal a complex dynamic in which criticism of modern hijab fashion often comes from fellow women, but it is necessary to examine further the social and cultural factors that underlie this phenomenon. This research highlights the importance of understanding how social media platforms can shape the perceptions and experiences of women wearing the hijab and calls for efforts to build more inclusive and supportive online communities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe school management in realizing the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. The research method used is qualitative. Data were collected using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis used qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed that the implementation of all management functions-planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising have been well structured to support the objectives of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) program. In planning, the school has succeeded in identifying student needs, making a schedule with a semi-block system, and optimizing existing resources, although the involvement of external parties is still less than optimal. The organization of this activity has been clearly regulated through the division of committee tasks and the preparation of structured and detailed modules. The implementation of activities is guided by modules that are prepared together and implemented well. Supervision is carried out through joint monitoring for continuous improvement, which also went well. The management of the program activities has succeeded in going through structured management stages, although there are several aspects such as the involvement of external parties that still need improvement. Sustainability evaluation is key to ensuring the appropriateness and achievement of project objectives, as well as optimizing effective character value reinforcement.

Abstract

This paper presents an initiative that fosters cross-cultural collaboration between Indonesia and Thailand to promote quality education aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4. The program, implemented over four cycles, engaged 263 participants from 115 universities during its recent editions. It was carried out in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, PPI UPSI Malaysia, and several universities from both countries. The initiative emphasizes the practical application of science, technology, and innovation to address real-life challenges within international communities. A key aspect of this program involved on-site activities at Lukmanulhakeem School in Yala, Thailand, where students and faculty from Universitas PGRI Palembang and collaborating institutions worked directly with local communities. The outcomes highlight the value of such programs: students and lecturers enhance their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; universities gain international exposure and institutional benefits; and local communities receive support through educational empowerment and problem-solving initiatives, especially for Indonesian migrant workers (PMI). This collaborative effort not only supports global education goals but also builds a foundation for ongoing international engagement that benefits higher education institutions, policymakers, and underserved communities alike. The program stands as a replicable model for sustainable, inclusive educational partnerships across borders.
