Abstract

Background. Learning media has a very important role in supporting the acceptance of information conveyed by the teacher to students. Through the media, information will be more easily accepted by students because it looks attractive so that students can focus more on understanding the material. However, based on initial observations in the field, many teachers have not utilized the latest digital media such as Powtoon. Purpose. The media that are commonly used are still in the form of Powerpoint (Ppt) and Student Worksheets. Method. This Community Service Activity (PKM) aims to provide training and assistance in making Powtoon-based animated video learning media for Mathematics academics in Mataram City. This activity was carried out online and was attended by 50 participants who were Mathematics practitioners in the City of Mataram. Results. The result of this community service activity is a Powtoon-based animated video learning media made by each participant. This learning media created is the result of mentoring PKM activities and is the output of these activities. In addition, there was a positive response from the trainees of 91.04% regarding mastery of the material, the technique of delivering the material, suitability of the material and the needs of the trainees, and the completeness and ease of operation of the Powtoon program. Conclusion. Thus, this PKM activity significantly improves the quality of learning mathematics in the classroom. Through this training and mentoring, trainees as Mathematics practitioners in the City of Mataram can produce Powtoon-based animated video learning media that suit students' needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in solving mathematical problems and creating scientific papers. The study uses a descriptive quantitative method with data collection through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The subjects of the study consist of 58 active students from the University of Mataram who have experience using AI technology in completing their coursework assignments. The results of this study show that: 1) the majority of students (89.6%) feel that AI technology is easy to use, 2) 75,9% have confidence in the accuracy of this technology, 3) 94,9% experience increased efficiency in completing coursework assignments, and 4) based on interviews, concerns were found regarding the potential dependency on AI (29.3%) and ethical issues in its use (24.1%). This study emphasizes that AI can be an effective tool in education if used wisely. Therefore, policies are needed to support the ethical and responsible use of AI to ensure that students continue to develop critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship of reasoning ability with problem solving ability, to determine the relationship of concept understanding ability with problem solving ability, and to determine the relationship of reasoning ability and concept understanding ability together to the ability to solve math problems of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram academic year 2023/2024. This type of research is ex post facto. The population of this study all students of Class IX as many as 394 students. The sample in this study is Class IX-A with the determination of sampling using Purposive random sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this study using tests. This research instrument in the form of Reasoning Ability Test, concept comprehension ability test and math problem solving ability test of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram. The results of data analysis of simple correlation and multiple correlations were obtained, there is a relationship of reasoning ability with problem solving ability of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 84.7%. Then for the ability to understand the concept with the ability to solve problems of students in Class IX SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 83.5%. The results of data analysis also showed that there is a significant relationship between the relationship of reasoning ability and the ability to understand concepts together against the ability to solve math problems of Class IX students of SMPN 1 Mataram with a coefficient of determination of 92.6%.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) is a form of implementation of the independent curriculum that aims to provide students with a more meaningful learning experience and process. P5 activities also apply the concept of differentiated learning, which emphasizes adapting to students' learning interests and readiness to obtain good learning results. Data in the field shows the lack of availability of the P5 module developed at SMPN 1 Pujut which is used as a guide for teachers and students in carrying out P5 activities. This research aims to create an E-Module based on the Strengthening Pancasila Student Profile (P5) Project as a Differentiated Learning Resource for Middle School Mathematics that is suitable for use. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) using Plomp design research, including (1) preliminary research, (2) development or prototyping phase, and (3) assessment phase. The results of this research indicate that the P5 e-module is classified in the very valid category with content validity criteria of 90.28%, and construct validity of 90.97%. Therefore, the availability of interactive P5 modules helps teachers provide innovative ideas and references for creating similar or even better modules.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive learning media CAKU and Student Worksheets (LKPD) to improve students' understanding of set material in class VII. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The analysis stage involves identifying needs and problems in learning set material. The design stage focuses on designing media and LKPD that suit the characteristics of class VII students. In the development stage, the media was prepared and tested on a small scale through peer teaching in the Innovative Mathematics Learning Study class which was attended by 16 students to obtain input and improvements. Implementation is carried out through field trials to measure the effectiveness of the media and LKPD that have been developed. Evaluation is carried out to assess the increase in students' understanding before and after using the learning media. The research results show that learning media is effective in increasing students' understanding of the concept of set. Apart from that, it is considered interesting and motivating for students to learn, thus making the learning process more interactive and fun. Thus, it is hoped that the development of the learning media CAKU and LKPD can become an innovative alternative tool for educators in teaching set material, as well as improving the quality of learning in class VII.

Abstract

Limited access to printed materials, lack of interaction, and lack of multimedia-based learning media are significant problems, especially in remote areas such as NTB. In addition, the situation is further complicated by the limitations of infrastructure, internet connections, and teachers' technological capabilities. The purpose of this study is to create a web-based Learning Resource Center (PSB) that utilizes technology to support learning and offer interactive teaching materials. Needs analysis, PSB structure development, guideline preparation, and validation and usability test are all methods used to conduct this study. The inability of technology, the limitations of infrastructure, and the effects of print media on the environment are the main problems identified. Interactive teaching materials, teacher training, wider access to learning materials, and web-based multimedia are some of the solutions that come to mind. The results show that the web-based PSB can function as a learning resource center and support the development of technology-based teaching materials, learning systems, and multimedia. This PSB also provides facilities such as multimedia labs, digital libraries, and access to interactive teaching materials, which improve the quality of learning. So, web-based PSBs help support technology learning, overcome limited access to teaching materials, and improve the quality and efficiency of education, especially in areas with limited infrastructure.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the need for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in supporting adaptive mathematics learning. The subjects of this research are students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram, who are enrolled in mathematics courses. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The data collection instruments used are observation and questionnaires. The results of this study indicate that: (1) 96% of students are accustomed to using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for learning, with 31% reporting usage "every day" and 58,6% reporting usage "several times a week", etc.; (2) several AI-integrated applications commonly used by students include ChatGPT (Open AI), Gemini, Meta, Perplexity, Question AI, etc.; (3) AI technology is capable of providing students with more detailed information from various references, even by simply uploading a photo or image, and it can assist with academic tasks, though attention must still be given to limitations and ethics.

Abstract

Multimedia Interaktif Bab Peluang (MUPEL) are an interactive multimedia to facilitate self-learning in the chapter of Probability. The purpose of this research is: (1) to describe misconception of probability for students who use the interactive multimedia assistance and for students who take the conventional learning and (2) to test the difference in the proportion of decreasing misconception between students who use the interactive multimedia assistance and students who take the conventional learning. The research was conducted at SMAN 2 Kediri. The subjects of this research were students of class XI MIPA 6 as a control class and students of class XI MIPA 8 as an experimental class. The research method that used was Quasi Experiment and the reserach design was Non-Equivalent Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. The instrument of data collection is a diagnostic test of misconception. The data analysis technique used is the proportion test with the Z test and the significance level . The results of this research were: (1) the initial knowledge of the experimental class was 76% still make misconception while the control class 77% still made misconception. After going through the learning process, the experimental class succeeded in reducing misconception to 19%, while the control class succeeded to reduce the misconception only to 45%, and (2) the result of hypothesis testing using the Z-test obtained . Based on these results, the proportion of the reduction in misconception of students with learning facilitated by MUPEL greater than the proportion of the reduction in misconception of students who take conventional learning.

Abstract

Media pembelajaran memiliki peranan yang penting dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menyenangkan dan menarik yang berdampak terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dan mendorong motivasi belajar siswa Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Powtoon pada pembelajaran materi teorema pythagoras terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar. Jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan bentuk quasi experiment (eksperimen semu) dengan posttest only control desain. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Kediri yang berjumlah 195 siswa. Adapun sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 56 siswa yaitu dari kelas VIII F sebagai  kelas  eksperimen dan kelas VIII G sebagai kelas kontrol yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa angket dan tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah melakukan uji validitas instrumen, uji prasyarat berupa uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas, uji independent sample test dan uji effect size.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Terdapat perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol; 2) Hasil uji effect size berada pada kategori tinggi; 3) Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan media Powtoon berada pada kategori tinggi. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media Powtoon pada pembelajaran materi teorema pythagoras terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Korelasi. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Mataram sebanyak 10 kelas mulai dari kelas VIII A sampai kelas VIII J. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu 40 siswa kelas VIII J SMPN 2 Mataram.Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan angket motivasi belajar, angket gaya belajar dan soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa SMPN 2 Mataram berdasarkan proporsi motivasi belajar nilai korelasinya adalah 0,069 artinya sangat lemah, motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar visual memiliki nilai korelasi 0,0827 artinya sangat lemah. Motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar auditorial memiliki nilai korelasi 0,473 artinya cukup. Motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar kinestetik nilainya -0,1046 artinya sangat lemah. motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan proporsi kemampuan pemecahan masalah nilainya adalah 0,0162 artinya sangat lemah, kemudian motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar visual nilainya 0,0852 artinya sangat lemah. Motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar auditorial nilainya 0,1985 artinya sangat lemah. Motivasi belajar dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya belajar kinestetik nilainya -0,0742 artinya sangat lemah.
