Abstract

This study examines the effect of entrepreneurship training on the vitality of community businesses by considering the mediating role of entrepreneurial intentions in micro and small businesses in the culinary sub-sector in Cisitu, Darmaraja, Wado, Jatinunggal, and Jatigede Districts, Sumedang Regency. The study population included 984 culinary MSMEs, with a sample of 300 respondents. Data were collected through a survey method using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) assisted by SmartPLS 4.1 software. The results showed that respondents rated entrepreneurship training, entrepreneurial intentions, and business viability as moderate (56.61%, 66.79%, and 49.26%), indicating a positive impact but still requiring strengthening. SEM-PLS analysis confirmed that entrepreneurship training had a positive and significant effect on business viability directly (path coefficient = 0.125; t-count = 2.333; p = 0.020) and on entrepreneurial intentions (path coefficient = 0.243; t-count = 4.015; p = 0.000). More importantly, entrepreneurial intentions were shown to significantly mediate the effect of training on business viability (indirect path coefficient = 0.049; t-count = 2.480; p = 0.013). This finding is supported by previous research that emphasized the importance of intentions as a mediator in the relationship between training and business sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of controlling strategic processes, resource management, and innovation on entrepreneurial performance and firm performance. We analyzed data from 154 entrepreneurs and company managers of the furniture industry sector using PLS-SEM to test several hypotheses. The results show a significant effect of strategic entrepreneurship control on improving resource management, innovation, and entrepreneurial performance. Strategic entrepreneurship control, which integrates strategic entrepreneurship and strategic control, can also indirectly boost firm performance. The practical implications of this research are that to address the problem of declining performance, it is necessary to improve innovation and resource management, as well as control strategic processes through the construct of strategic entrepreneurship control. This research contributes to the field of management science, particularly entrepreneurship, strategic entrepreneurship, and strategic control.

Abstract

Creative thinking is the process of coming up with original, adaptable, and visually appealing solutions to problems. Creative thinking is the continuous process of thinking about and creating creative things in order to achieve objectives. Students find the project-based learning approach and the learning process to be interesting experiences. Student learning experiences with the upcoming project serve as the focus of the instructional materials. Students learn more and feel more motivated to complete assigned projects when they are given real-world experience in the learning process. Students learn more and feel more motivated to complete the assigned project when they are given real-world experience in the learning process. Creative thinking is the process of coming up with original, adaptable, and visually appealing solutions to problems. This study looked into how collaboration between groups improved collaborative learning groups' performance on project-based learning tasks and the co-construction of knowledge. The findings of two case studies, one on between-group mentoring and one on between-group project review, revealed that both strategies were viewed favorably by the students and had a positive impact on all students' project performance, particularly in the less effective groups, as well as the knowledge revealed through their online dialogue. The findings shed some light on how students in higher education engage in computer-supported collaborative learning.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in fostering innovation, reducing unemployment, and strengthening national economic resilience. In Indonesia, the integration of entrepreneurship education with school-based business incubation programs has become increasingly important, particularly in addressing the high unemployment rate among high school graduates. This study examines the influence of Entrepreneurship Education (X1) and Business Incubation (X2) on Entrepreneurial Interest (Y), with Family Environment (Z) functioning as a mediating variable among private high school students in Central Jakarta Region II. Using a quantitative survey method, data were collected from 371 students selected through simple random sampling from a population of 4,940 students participating in entrepreneurship programs and school incubators. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied to test the measurement and structural models, including direct, indirect, and mediation effects. The results show that both entrepreneurship education and business incubation have significant positive effects on students’ entrepreneurial interest. Entrepreneurship education enhances students’ knowledge, skills, and confidence, while incubation programs strengthen practical experience through mentoring, project-based activities, and exposure to real business environments. The family environment also demonstrates a significant mediating effect by reinforcing students’ entrepreneurial motivation through emotional support, role modeling, and encouragement. These findings align with major theoretical frameworks, including the Theory of Planned Behavior, Social Learning Theory, and Entrepreneurial Learning Theory, which emphasize the interplay of education, experience, and social context in shaping entrepreneurial intentions. Overall, the study highlights the importance of strengthening school-based incubation and fostering family involvement to develop competitive young entrepreneurs capable of contributing to economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a model for digital-based youth entrepreneurship through the activities of Karang Taruna Indonesia (KTI) in Melong Village, South Cimahi District, Cimahi City. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with research and development (R&D) methods, this study combines field observations, interviews, and focus group discussions with members and administrators of Karang Taruna. The findings show that entrepreneurial activities within KTI are still conventional and have not been integrated with digital marketing platforms. The developed model emphasizes three components: input, process, and output, which include training, mentoring, and digital literacy enhancement. Validation results from experts and practitioners indicate that the model is feasible for implementation and can be used as a reference for developing youth entrepreneurship in other community organizations.

Abstract

The research is grounded in the pressing concern of rising educated unemployment and the growing expectation that entrepreneurship can serve as a strategic pathway for students to transition from job seekers to job creators, this study aims to examine the influence of hard skills and soft skills on students’ entrepreneurial readiness. Adopting a quantitative approach with a descriptive method, this study involved 156 student respondents selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire. Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS), supported by Smart PLS 4, was employed as the data analysis technique. The findings: (1) hard skills exert a positive and significant effect on students’ entrepreneurial readiness; (2) soft skills also have a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial readiness; and (3) hard skills and soft skills simultaneously exert a significant influence on students’ readiness to engage in entrepreneurship. These findings are particularly valuable as they offer an affirmative and evidence-based framework for cultivating the entrepreneurs urgently needed in Indonesia. The practical implications call for a strategic transformation of entrepreneurship curricula and pedagogical approaches by educational policymakers and lecturers. Specifically, greater emphasis should be placed on the integrated, intensive, and sustained development of both hard skills and soft skills, closely aligned with the needs of the local economic ecosystem. Finally, further research employing quasi-experimental or longitudinal designs is recommended to rigorously test and refine the proposed model.

Abstract

Objective: To develop and test an entrepreneurial success model for creative micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java, Indonesia, by examining five entrepreneur-level factors entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial alertness, entrepreneurial creativity, opportunity recognition, and entrepreneurial orientation and to derive implications for entrepreneurship education. Methods: A quantitative explanatory survey of 432 creative-industry MSME owners was conducted (January–March 2025). Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4) to estimate direct and mediating effects. The analysis followed standard procedures for outer/inner model evaluation (indicator loadings ≥0.70 where retained; reliability and HTMT satisfied) and bootstrapping (5,000 resamples) for path significance. Results: All five factors contributed significantly to entrepreneurial success. Self-efficacy, alertness, and entrepreneurial orientation showed positive direct effects, while creativity mediated the effects of self-efficacy and alertness, and opportunity recognition mediated the effects of alertness and entrepreneurial orientation. The structural model explained R² = 0.716 (71.6%) of the variance in success (creativity R² = 0.644; opportunity recognition R² = 0.584), indicating substantial explanatory power. Novelty: The study shows that entrepreneurial traits influence success primarily through the mediating mechanisms of creativity and opportunity recognition. This trait–mechanism coupling provides a clearer explanation of how entrepreneur-level factors translate into performance and offers actionable guidance for entrepreneurship education targeting these mediating capabilities.
