Abstract

In a multicultural educational environment, stereotypes and prejudices can be challenges that affect the effectiveness of learning, including in Arabic language education. Naatiq International Arabic Course Pare Kediri, as an Arabic language learning center that accommodates students from various cultural backgrounds, faces complex social dynamics. This study aims to identify the forms of stereotypes and prejudices that occur in Arabic language education at the Naatiq International Arabiyah Course Pare Kediri, analyze the causal factors, and formulate effective strategies to overcome these problems. The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation and interview techniques. The results of this study are that to overcome stereotypes and prejudices in multicultural education at the Naatiq International Arabiyah Course Pare Kediri, they not only adhere to knowledge and introduction to Arabic culture through the cultural introduction curriculum but also dare to speak and socialize with each other in discussions between classes to make it comfortable to learn without fear of making mistakes in pronouncing the language. So that Arabic language learning will be absorbed and cultural introduction will be more easily accepted. on the concept that differences in culture, ethnicity, and background are riches that enrich learning, not threats.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophical challenges arising from the use of YouTube as a medium for teaching the Arabic language, focusing on the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing data collection tools such as semi-structured interviews with five teachers and participant observation within classroom settings. The findings reveal that ontologically, YouTube expands the learning space but reduces the intensity of interaction between teacher and student. Epistemologically, the platform accelerates the transmission of knowledge through visual means, although this may result in a superficial understanding and weakened comprehension. Axiologically, core values inherent in religious school environments such as respect, discipline, and patience—may erode in the absence of effective educational supervision. The study concludes that integrating digital media into religious education requires philosophical awareness to balance technological innovation with the preservation of traditional educational values. There is a growing need for pedagogical strategies that harmoniously integrate the benefits of modern technology with the rich educational heritage of religious schools.

Abstract

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) sebagai organisasi Islam terbesar di Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam merespons berbagai problematika keislaman yang muncul di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menganalisis peran Lembaga Bahtsul Masail Nahdlatul Ulama (LBMNU) dalam menyelesaikan problematika keislaman di Indonesia. Menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka, penelitian mengkaji berbagai literatur klasik dan modern terkait fatwa dan keputusan NU. Tujuannya adalah memahami metodologi ijtihad NU yang mencakup pendekatan qauli (tekstual), taqrir jama'i (musyawarah), ilhaq (analogi), dan manhaji (metodologis), serta relevansinya dalam menjawab tantangan kontemporer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LBMNU berhasil memadukan prinsip Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah dengan kebutuhan masyarakat modern melalui ijtihad kolektif. Fatwa-fatwanya tidak hanya berdasar pada dalil normatif, tetapi juga mempertimbangkan konteks sosial dan kemaslahatan umat. Dengan demikian, NU membuktikan kemampuan lembaga keislaman tradisional dalam merespons perubahan zaman secara dinamis sekaligus menjaga nilai-nilai dasar Islam.

Abstract

Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah adalah tarekat sufi yang menggabungkan ajaran dan metode dzikir dari dua tarekat besar, yaitu Qadiriyah dan Naqsyabandiyah. Tarekat ini menekankan nilai-nilai spiritual yang meliputi penyucian hati, akhlak mulia, dan kedekatan dengan Allah SWT melalui amalan dzikir, riyadah, dan pembinaan karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana nilai-nilai tarekat Qadiriyah Naqsyabandiyah diaktualisasikan dalam kehidupan sosial modern, khususnya dalam membentuk karakter individu yang berakhlak, bertanggung jawab sosial, dan harmonis dalam masyarakat. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui buku-buku rujukan maupun jurnal yang berkaitan tentang Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqsabandiyah, tasawuf dan sufisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai seperti kesabaran, tawakal, keikhlasan, dan ukhuwah Islamiyah yang diajarkan dalam tarekat ini diaplikasikan dalam interaksi sosial sehari-hari, memperkuat solidaritas sosial, dan meningkatkan kualitas kehidupan spiritual serta sosial umat Islam di era modern. Dengan demikian, Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqsabandiyah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai jalan spiritual individu, tetapi juga sebagai landasan moral dan sosial yang relevan dalam menghadapi dinamika kehidupan kontemporer.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the use of various Arabic vocabulary for hotel names in Surabaya. The method used is descriptive-qualitative method. The data was obtained from the android-based hospitality application, namely Booking.com and Traveloka.com. The data is collected, classified, analyzed, then concluded based on linguistic studies, namely linguistic characters, the use of sharia names, and the combination of Arabic with other languages. Based on linguistic characteristics, the names of hotels in Surabaya use singular nouns with a percentage of 89%, while the remaining 5 percent are in the form of verbs and 6% are in the form of Idhofah and plural. The names of hotels that use the word "sharia" in Surabaya have seven patterns, generally include the general name of the hotel then the type of accommodation and the addition of the word "sharia". Almost all hotels in Surabaya that use Arabic consist of one word and besides that, several hotels have their names combined with various languages, namely Indonesian, Javanese, and English

Abstract

Urgensi terhadap penggunaan bahasa Arab bagi peradaban masa kini,menyebabkan masyarakat non Arab beranggapan bahwa mempelajari bahasaArab menjadi suatu kewajiban yang tidak bisa dihindarkan khususnya untukkaum muslim. Mengesampingkan fungsi lingkungan yang menerapkanpenggunaan bahasa Arab sebagai kebanggaan dan aset suatu badan institusipendidikan terkait, namun juga berfungsi sebagai motivasi dan sumber belajarpeserta didik. Peneliti menyusun artikel ini dengan tujuan untuk membuktikanbahwa lingkungan bahasa yang terbentuk secara baik dapat dijadikan sebagaistrategi dan penentu dalam keterampilan belajar bahasa Arab. Metode penelitianyang dipergunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif disusun denganmenggunakan studi pustaka, dimana observasi melalui media online denganmenjadikan sumber literasi berupa buku dan jurnal sangat diperlukan gunamemperoleh informasi-informasi valid dan relevan terkait permasalahan utamayang akan dijabarkan. Hasil temuan menunjukkan bahwa mengembangkan bahanajar bahasa Arab bagi peserta didik berlandaskan pada lingkungan dapatmemberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan pelajar dalammenulis, membava, berbicara, maupun menyimak bahasa Arab, walaupun padafaktanya setiap manusia dianugerahi oleh perangkat akuisisi natural LAD(Language Acquisition Device) yang memudahkan manusia untuk berbahasa,kemahiran tersebut juga ditentukan oleh kondisi lingkungan sekitar setiap pelajar.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the use of synonyms in technology news in the online media al-Jazeera. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The object of this research is an analysis of synonyms found in technology news in the online media al-Jazeera. Data collection in this research used note-taking and library techniques. The note-taking technique in question is recording relevant data that is in accordance with the research goals and objectives. Library techniques are data collection based on written sources that reflect synchronous language use. Data that is relevant to the research objectives is then tapped and written or recorded on the data along with the data source. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of synonyms is characterized by the existence of an equivalent meaning relationship between certain lingual units and other lingual units in discourse. In this research, types of word-to-word synonymy and sentence-to-sentence synonymy were found. Keywords: Synonymy, Meaning Relations, Online Media, Technology News

Abstract

Learning speaking skills is an essential aspect in Islamic boarding schools, particularly at Darul Lughah Al-‘Arabiyah wa Al-Fiqh As-Salafi Annuqayah Latee. However, many students are not motivated to develop speaking skills because they feel bored with the learning content, which hinders the process. While many studies have explored learning motivation, little research has focused on the implementation strategy of Arabic competition, especially in this pesantren. This study aims to examine the implementation strategy of Arabic competition and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting its practice. A qualitative field research design with a descriptive approach was employed, using observations and interviews with mentors and students. Data were analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the practice. The findings show that the implementation of Arabic competition consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Although both supporting and inhibiting factors were found, the supporting factors were more dominant in increasing students’ motivation to speak Arabic. This research contributes to the study of Arabic language learning strategies in Islamic boarding schools and offers a practical model that can be adapted to increase motivation to speak Arabic. دراسة مهارة الكلام من الجوانب المهمة في التعليم داخل المعاهد الإسلامية، خاصة في دار اللغة العربية والفقه السلفي النقاية لاتي. ومع ذلك، فإن العديد من الطلاب غير متحفزين لتطوير مهارة الكلام لأنهم يشعرون بالملل من محتوى التعلم، مما يعيق العملية التعليمية. على الرغم من وجود العديد من الدراسات التي تناولت دافعية التعلم، إلا أن القليل منها ركّز على استراتيجيات إقامة المسابقة العربية، وخصوصًا في هذا المعهد. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى دراسة استراتيجيات إقامة المسابقة العربية، بالإضافة إلى دراسة العوامل المساعدة والمعوقة في إقامتها. تم استخدام تصميم بحثي ميداني نوعي بالنهج الوصفي، من خلال الملاحظة والمقابلات مع المشرفين والطلاب. وتم تحليل البيانات عبر خطوات تقليص البيانات، وعرضها، واستنتاج النتائج للحصول على فهم شامل للممارسة. أظهرت نتائج البحث كما يلي: إقامة المسابقة العربية بدار اللغة العربية والفقه السلفي لها المراحل الثلاثة: المرحلة الاستعدادية والمرحلة الإجرائية والمرحلة التقييمية، وإقامة المسابقة العربية لزيادة الدافعية في تعلم مهارة الكلام لها العوامل المساعدة والمعوّقة، والعوامل المساعدة لها تأثير إيجابي أكثر بالنسبة من العوامل المعوّقة. تسهم هذه الدراسة في إثراء بحوث استراتيجيات تعليم اللغة العربية في المعاهد الإسلامية، وتقدّم نموذجًا عمليًا يمكن تكييفه لتعزيز دافعية مهارة الكلام في اللغة العربية.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to investigate how knowledge of Nahwu (Arabic syntax) and Sharf (Arabic morphology) helps participants of the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) in the Indonesian Language Qur'anic Tafsir category strengthen their interpretation skills, as well as to identify the challenges participants face in mastering these two sciences for interpreting the Qur'an. This study takes a qualitative method, with 10 MTQ participants in the Indonesian Language Qur'anic Tafsir category and one of their trainers serving as a supportive informant. The data was gathered by observation, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using interpretation techniques, thematic categorization, and data reduction. The results of the study reveal that the knowledge of Nahwu and Sharf considerably helps participants understand the structure of Qur'anic verses and interpret them more precisely, thereby improving their exegetical skills. However, while mastering the knowledge of Nahwu and Sharf, the participants face several problems, which undoubtedly produce diversity in their interpretation skills. These problems include the complexities of Nahwu and Sharf laws, a lack of preparation time, training methods, limited references, and distinctions in educational background and environment. The findings of this study can be used as a resource for MTQ participants in the Indonesian Language Qur'anic Tafsir category to improve their Qur'anic exegesis skills.

Abstract

There are a significant number of lexical borrowings from Arabic language to Indonesian language. Among of them are the words jahanam and hijrah. These words are diachronically can be traced and found in literatures and religious texts. This paper seeks to scrutinize the semantic change of jahanam and hijrah. This paper analyses jahanam and hijrah as they are used in both old manuscripts and modern texts. To see their semantic change behaviour, collocation and concordance of their contexts were analysed. The manuscripts employed as the source of research data were taken from the Malay Concordance Project (MCP) which comprises of 165 classical Malay literatures containing some Islamic texts, Corpora Collection Leipzig University, and WebCorp Live Birmingham City University. Using the corpus linguistics method, this research manages to demonstrate how words change semantically through time. The results of this study can be used as material for the preparation of the Indonesian-Arabic etymology dictionary.
