Abstract

Antioksidan memiliki kemampuan dalam melawan atau menetralkan dari radikal bebas. Nangka (A. heterophyllus), cempedak (A. integer), dan tarap (A. odoratissimus) adalah tanaman yang banyak terdapat di Kalimantan Selatan. Belum pernah diteliti aktivitas antioksidan dari ketiga daun dari genus tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol daun nangka (A. heterophyllus), cempedak (A. integer), dan tarap (A. odoratissimus). Prosedur penelitian dimulai dari proses ekstraksi secara maserasi. Pelarut yang dipakai untuk ekstraksi yaitu etanol. Ekstrak cair kemudian diuapkan hingga didapat ekstrak kental. Ekstrak diuji antivitas antioksidan menggunakan pereaksi DPPH dengan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Selanjutnya dilakukan perhitungan nilai IC50. Aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol daun nangka (A. heterophyllus) termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 151,7856 ppm, ekstrak etanol daun cempedak (A. integer) termasuk kategori aktif dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 52,7706 ppm, dan ekstrak etanol daun tarap (A. odoratissimus) kategori aktif dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 87,9513 ppm

Abstract

Anemia merupakan keadaan dimana jumlah eritrosit (sel darah merah) kurang dari jumlah normalnya yang disebabkan kurangnya konsumsi zat besi. Prevalensi anemia di di Indonesia berdasarkan survei demografi dan kesehatan Indonesia 2017, anak usia 5-12 tahun sekitar 26%, wanita usia 13-18 tahun sekitar 23%, pria berusia 13-18 tahun sekitar 17%. Wanita memiliki faktor resiko dua kali lipat kekurangan zat besi dibandingkan pria. Penggunaan obat herbal dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan tanaman yang berkhasiat. Tujuan review ini memberikan informasi mengenai pemanfaatan tanaman herbal dalam mengurangi dan mengatasi terjadinya anemia. Literatur yang digunakan pada review artikel ini berupa e-book, jurnal internasional, dan jurnal nasional yang didapatkan pada penyedia jurnal di nternet serta situs resmi lembaga kesehatan baik itu nasional maupun internasional. Anemia dapat diatasi dengan daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L), buah jambu biji merah (Psidium guajava L.), bayam merah (Amaranthus tricolor L), kacang hijau (Phaseolus radiatus L), ciplukan (Physalis peruviana), kurma (Phoenix dactylifera), pepaya (Carica papaya), buah naga (Hylocereus polyhizu) dan buah kelapa (Cocos nucifera L)

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the specific and non-specific parameter from ethanolic extract of A. microcarpa. Specific parameters such as the organoleptic properties, content of water and ethanol soluble compound, and chhromatogram profile of the extract. In contrast, the non-specific parameter includes drying losses, ash levels, microbiological contamination levels, and heavy metal contamination levels. The results showed that the organoleptic properties of ethanolic extract of A. microcarpa was thick, blackish brown color, bitter taste and have distinctive odor. The average content of water-soluble compounds of 66.93%, ethanol-soluble of 47.97%, and chromatogram profile with Rf 0.636. The non-specific parameters results were drying losses of 5.50%, total ash content of 3.73%, acid-insoluble ash of 2.13%, microbial contamination testing results of 1.2x102-5.5x103 colonies/g, and total mold/ yeast contaminants of 10-100 colonies/g. Heavy metal contamination Pb levels and Cd levels were 5.47 mg/kg and 0.19 mg/kg respectively. These studies suggested that the observed specific and non-specific parameters may be helpful for establishing pharmacopoeia standards of A. microcarpa and to ensure uniformity of extract effect.

Abstract

Disclosing solution is a material that is often used to see the presence of plaque, made of erythrosine base material. Erythrosine is one of the food coloring ingredients and can also be used for bacterial staining, can cause allergic reactions and this dye also has the potential as a carcinogen. The purpose of the study is to figure 1). qualitative of the secondary metabolites of brazilin compounds in secang wood extract, 2). quantitative of the secondary metabolites of brazilin compounds in secang wood extracts and 3). toxicity in secang wood extract using the BSLT shrimp larva toxicity test (Brine Shrimp Lethality Test). The study design is a non-experimental one that will examine quantitatively on secondary metabolites of secang wood extract and toxicity tests. The research tools used are ovens, grinders, mechanical sieves, maceration vessels, hydraulic presses, rotary evaporators, water baths, Uv-Vis spectrophotometers, glass tools and materials used are secang wood and other materials used namely ethanol pro analysis, methanol pro analysis, hexane pro analysis, ethyl acetate pro analysis, aqua sterile, what man paper, FeCl3, HCl, shrimp larvae, and larval growing media. Quantitative analysis test obtained the level of secang wood brazilin which is 8.54% b / b. In toxicity tests using Uv-Vis spectrophotometers, the results of wood extracts are not toxic to living things based on toxicity tests with shrimp larva test models. Conclusion, secang wood contains brazilin which plays a role in giving red color and is not toxic to living creatures so that it is safe to use in humans.

Abstract

South Kalimantan in early 2021 experienced the largest flooding in the last 50 years. Data in Banjar Regency shows that there are 27,368 houses, 2 bridges, 5 places of worship and 9 schools in 207 villages from 19 sub-districts in Banjar Regency that are affected. Pekauman Ulu Village was affected by flooding with a large potential for flooding. The purpose of this community service is to improve community skills in disaster mitigation, post-disaster counseling, and community knowledge in efforts to self-medicate in disaster situations. The service method carried out is through counseling, training, and distributing booklets related to self-medication. The results of the service activities were evaluated through the presence of the community, the results of the pretest and posttest, as well as the testimonies of the participants who attended. The data were analyzed descriptively and presented in the table. The service that has been carried out was attended by 48 participants, participants actively asked questions and were involved in discussions. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, there was an increase in knowledge related to disaster mitigation from 49.77% to 83.55%, basic trauma healing abilities from 54.67% to 84.44%, and understanding of self-medication from 38.22% to 85. 77%. The conclusion from community service shows that there is an increase in knowledge related to disaster mitigation, basic trauma healing abilities, and understanding of self-medication

Abstract

Diarrhea is a condition in which there is an increase in the frequency of bowel movements, and a decrease in the consistency (mass) of feces. Pasar Kemis Village is located in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, which still uses latrines on the banks of the river to defecate. Experiential methods are training methods that prioritize flexible and dynamic communication using visual aids or videos that can be used as educational methods. The purpose of the activity is to increase the knowledge of PKK mothers in the prevention and treatment of diarrhea in children. Community service activities began with the socialization of activities to the Village Head and PKK mothers, pretests on knowledge related to diarrhea in children, delivery of material using experiential methods, question and answer discussions, and evaluation of activities using questionnaires. The results of the implementation of community service in Pasar Kemis Village, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency using experiential methods showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of PKK mothers about the prevention and treatment of diarrhea in children from 55.43% to 86.62%..

Abstract

South Kalimantan is a wetland area that has a high level of biodiversity, both plants and animals, which can be used as raw materials for herbal products. The herbal medicine company Pucuk Sirih is a Traditional Medicine Small Business which is located in selling various herbal products. PJ Pucuk Sirih wants to develop and innovate products, packaging and marketing systems because since the first production there has been no change in product, packaging and marketing system development. The new product formula, namely Harbumin Capsules (haruan fish capsules) has not yet produced good product quality, this is indicated by the wet capsule products after the production process so it is necessary to evaluate the product formula. The purpose of this community service is to provide training on production and packaging methods in accordance with CPOTB, evaluate the Harbumin capsule formula, produce a digitalized marketing system with website development. The result of the activity is that the production team gains knowledge regarding good production and packaging methods, the results of the evaluation of Harbumin capsule products show that the capsules have met the requirements, the marketing and sales system has been digitized and can be obtained online

Abstract

Plak tidak bisa dilihat karena warnanya transparan seperti warna kaca putih tembus cahaya. Cara melihat  plak dapat dengan menggunakan zat pewarna (bisa merah atau ungu) yang disebut dengan disclosing solution/ disclosing agent. Disclosing solution adalah bahan yang sering digunakan untuk melihat adanya plak, terbuat dari bahan dasar eritrosin. Eritrosin ini merupakan salah satu bahan pewarna makanan dan dapat juga digunakan untuk pewarnaan bakteri, dapat menimbulkan reaksi alergi serta bahan pewarna ini juga memiliki potensi sebagai bahan karsinogen. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran uji in vivo ekstrak kayu secang pada hewan uji. Rancangan penelitian adalah eksperimental. alat  penelitian yang digunakan yaitu oven, grinder, ayakan mekanik, bejana maserasi, press hidrolic, rotary evaporator, waterbath, spektrofotometer uv-vis, alat gelas dan bahan yang digunakan kayu secang dan bahan lain yang digunakan yaitu bahan ekstrak, HPMC, propilen glikol, gliserol, metil paraben, dan propil paraben.Kesimpulan Uji in vivo yang dilakukan untuk melihat potensi efek samping dari penggunaan gel ekstrak kayu secang dengan parameter tekanan darah, kadar gula darah dan kadar kolesterol menunjukkan tidak terdapat efek samping terhadap tikus sehingga aman untuk digunakan pada manusia. Kata Kunci : Uji In Vivo; kayu secang ; disclosing agent

Abstract

One of natural ingredients that has potential as herbal medicines is the leaves of agarwood-producing plants.  Opportunities for the development of agarwood-producing plants (Aquilaria microcrocarpa Baill.) as medicinal plants are still wide open. Ethanol extract of Aquilaria microcarpa Baill folium extract was made in the form of syrup preparations to facilitate use. This study aimed to formulate Gaharu folium extract into syrup preparations. The syrup preparations were made into 3 formulas with variations in the concentration of sorbitol as a sweetener, namely 60%; 63% and 65%. The three formulas were then evaluated including organoleptic test, viscosity test, pH test, homogeneity test and specific gravity test. The hedonic test was also carried out to determine which formula was the most preferred. The evaluation results showed that all syrup formulas met a good range of syrup requirements. From the results of the analysis of the preference test data, it could be concluded that all formulas had a level of acceptance that was not significantly different, but formula 2 had the highest total hedonic score compared to other formulas. Formula 2 also had the appropriate pH, viscosity and specific gravity as a syrup.

Abstract

Mundar (Garcinia forbesii) is a typical plant from South Kalimantan. Mundar pericaps can be used as a natural antioxidant. The use of solvents in the extraction process can affect the antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to determine of phytochemical compounds and antioxidant activity of the ethanol, methanol, and aquades extracts from pericaps of mundar (Garcinia forbesii). Mundar pericaps is dried, then made into powder. Mundar pericaps powder was extracted with three different solvents, ethanol 70%, methanol, and aquades. Phytochemical screening and analysis by thin layer chromatography were performed on the three extracts. The three extracts were tested for antioxidant activity by DPPH method. The results showed that ethanol and methanol extracts contained phytochemical compounds of phenolic, flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, steroids, and terpenoids. Aquades extract contains phenolic, flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids. The chromatographic profile showed that the ethanol and methanol extracts had an Rf value of 0.307. The antioxidant activity from highest to lowest was ethanol extract (192.64 ppm), methanol extract (236.64 ppm), and aquades extract (443.13 ppm) from mundar pericaps
