Abstract

Daun Cempedak (Artocarpus integer) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang diketahui memiliki kandungan senyawa flavonoid dan berpotensi digunakan sebagai tabir surya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kadar flavonoid total dan aktivitas tabir surya fraksi ekstrak etanol daun A. integer dengan menggunakan instrumen spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Daun A. integer segar dilakukan proses ekstraksi secara maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96 %. Ekstrak kering difraksinasi dengan n-heksan dan etil asetat serta fraksi diuapkan hingga kental. Penentuan kadar flavonoid dilakukan dengan metode kolorimetri AlCl3, sedangkan uji Sun Protection Factor (SPF) dilakukan pada konsentrasi 200, 400, 600, 800, dan 1000 ppm menggunakan instrumen spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Hasil menunjukkan kadar flavonoid total fraksi ekstrak etanol daun A.integer yaitu fraksi n-heksan 1,565 ± 0,007 % b/b, fraksi etil asetat 2,443 ± 0,035 % b/b, dan fraksi air 0,560 ± 0,002 % b/b ekivalen kuersetin. Aktivitas tabir surya fraksi ekstrak etanol daun A. integer yang paling baik terdapat pada konsentrasi 1000 ppm yaitu fraksi etil asetat termasuk kategori kuat dengan nilai SPF 8,511; fraksi n-heksan termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai SPF 4,786; dan  fraksi air termasuk kategori sedang dengan nilai SPF 4,322.

Abstract

Ultraviolet rays cause wrinkles and premature ageing. The bad effects of sun exposure can be avoided by using sunscreen. Artocarpus integer is empirically used as a black spot remover and cold powder. Total flavonoid content is an extract quality parameter that is related to the consistency of the pharmacological effects produced. The purpose of this study was to determine the total flavonoid content and the value of Sun Protection Factor (SPF) from the dried extract Artocarpus integer. The study began with a drying of fresh leaves using an oven, making simplicia powder, extraction process by maceration, and drying extracts using a drying cabinet. The dry extract was measured for total flavonoid content using a spectrophotometer UV-Vis with quercetin as a marker. The dry extract also determined the SPF value at concentrations of 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 ppm. The results showed that the total flavonoid content of the dry extract of cempedak leaves was 1,283 ± 0.032 %w/w equivalent to quercetin. The SPF value of dry extract of cempedak leaves at concentrations of 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000 ppm respectively, namely 2,923 ± 0.009, 5.990 ± 0.002, 8.846 ± 0.001, 13,181 ± 0.008 and 15.856 ± 0.1533

Abstract

Mundar (Garcinia forbesii) is a typical plant from South Kalimantan. Mundar pericaps can be used as a natural antioxidant. The use of solvents in the extraction process can affect the antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to determine of phytochemical compounds and antioxidant activity of the ethanol, methanol, and aquades extracts from pericaps of mundar (Garcinia forbesii). Mundar pericaps is dried, then made into powder. Mundar pericaps powder was extracted with three different solvents, ethanol 70%, methanol, and aquades. Phytochemical screening and analysis by thin layer chromatography were performed on the three extracts. The three extracts were tested for antioxidant activity by DPPH method. The results showed that ethanol and methanol extracts contained phytochemical compounds of phenolic, flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, steroids, and terpenoids. Aquades extract contains phenolic, flavonoids, tannins, and alkaloids. The chromatographic profile showed that the ethanol and methanol extracts had an Rf value of 0.307. The antioxidant activity from highest to lowest was ethanol extract (192.64 ppm), methanol extract (236.64 ppm), and aquades extract (443.13 ppm) from mundar pericaps

Abstract

South Kalimantan is a wetland area that has a high level of biodiversity, both plants and animals, which can be used as raw materials for herbal products. The herbal medicine company Pucuk Sirih is a Traditional Medicine Small Business which is located in selling various herbal products. PJ Pucuk Sirih wants to develop and innovate products, packaging and marketing systems because since the first production there has been no change in product, packaging and marketing system development. The new product formula, namely Harbumin Capsules (haruan fish capsules) has not yet produced good product quality, this is indicated by the wet capsule products after the production process so it is necessary to evaluate the product formula. The purpose of this community service is to provide training on production and packaging methods in accordance with CPOTB, evaluate the Harbumin capsule formula, produce a digitalized marketing system with website development. The result of the activity is that the production team gains knowledge regarding good production and packaging methods, the results of the evaluation of Harbumin capsule products show that the capsules have met the requirements, the marketing and sales system has been digitized and can be obtained online

Abstract

Abstract: Flavonoids are phenolic compounds from nature that found in almost all parts of the plants. Seluang belum (Luvunga sarmentosa (Blume) Kurz.) root is one of the medicinal plants used by Dayak people in Central and South Kalimantan where in previous studies its part was contains flavonoids. This study aims to evaluate the best solvent for extracting flavonoid content and antioxidant activity using ethanol, methanol and ethyl acetate. The antioxidant activity performed by in vitro technique by DPPH assay. Total flavonoids content on the extracts of L. sarmentosa root determined using UV-Vis spectrophotometric with aluminium chloride method and calculated as quercetin equivalents (QE). The results showed the highest antioxidant activities confirmed for the methanol extract (IC50 = 80.33 ppm). The highest of total flavonoids contents was recorded for the ethanol extract (6.56 ± 0.006% w/w Quercetin Equivalent). The results showed that treatment effect of different solvent extraction was significant (sig <0.05) on total flavonoid and antioxidant activities from L. sarmentosa root.

Abstract

Garcinia forbesii is traditionally used as medicine and cosmetics. The aimed was to determine antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract and fraction of Garcinia forbesii pericarp against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acne based on the diameter of inhibition zone, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum killing concentration (MBC). The results showed that the largest inhibition zone diameter against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acne was indicated by ethyl acetate fraction of 5.08±1.020 mm and 14.33±3.326 mm. The MIC value of ethanol extract against Staphylococcus aureus and Propionibacterium acne bacteria was >1.5%, n-hexane and ethyl acetate fraction had the same results, namely against Staphylococcus aureus >1.5% and Propionibacterium acne at 1.5%. The MBC value was only obtained for fraction samples of Propionibacterium acne at concentration of 1.5%. It was concluded that ethyl acetate had strong antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acne based on the value of inhibition zone diameter, MIC, and MBC.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of chronic malnutrition and has long-term impacts on growth, mental and cognitive abilities, low immunity, productivity and reproduction. Tungkaran Village is in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. The prevalence of stunting under five cases in South Kalimantan in 2018 reached 25-30%. The lecture method is a method of conveying information orally. Leaflets are printed media for conveying information to the public effectively. The aim of this activity is to increase public knowledge as an effort to prevent and handle stunting incidents. Community service activities include stunting education to the community, pretests, delivering education using leaflets, discussions and questions and answers, as well as evaluating activities with posttests. The results of implementing community service in Tungkaran Village, Martapura District, Banjar Regency using the lecture method using leaflet media showed an increase in the knowledge of mothers of toddlers, posyandu cadres and the community about preventing and handling stunting in children from 77.57% to 99.69%.

Abstract

Latar bekalang : Mundar (Garcinia forbesii) merupakan tanaman khas asal Kalimantan Selatan yang berpotensi sebagai bahan obat. Tamanan diolah menjadi simplisia harus memenuhi persyaratan untuk dapat digunakan sebagai bahan obat. Simplisia yang digunakan akan melalui uji parameter standar simplisia meliputi parameter spesifik dan non spesifik. Parameter spesifik yang akan diuji yaitu golongan senyawa, senyawa spesifik yang menggambarkan efek farmakologis sedangkan pada parameter non spesifik yang akan diuji adalah sifat kimia, fisika dan mikrobiologi yang akan mempengaruhi stabilitas dan keamanan obat.Tujuan : Menetapkan parameter spesifik dan non spesifik simplisia kulit buah mundar asal Kalimantan SelatanMetode : Pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu penetapan parameter spesifik dan parameter non spesifik yang ditetapkan meliputi organoleptik, mikroskopik, kadar sari larut pelarut tertentu, susut pengeringan, kadar abu tidak larut asam, kadar abu total, dan  cemaran logam berat. Sampel simplisia tanaman Mundar yang akan diuji berasal dari dua Kecamatan yang berbeda yaitu dari Kecamatan Karang Intan dan Kecamatan Beruntung Baru Kabupaten Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan.Hasil : Hasil analisis simplisia kulit buah mundar dari Kecamatan Karang Intan and Kecamatan Beruntung Baru masing-masing adalah organoleptik kedua sampel simplisia berupa serbuk coklat, asam, berbau khas. Hasil mikroskopik diperoleh terdapat epidermis, kolenkim dan parenkim mesocarp pada kedua simplisia. Kadar sari larut etanol kedua simplisia masing-masing 57,20±0,10% dan 58,57±0,49%, kadar sari larut air 66,93±0,23% dan 68,83±0,15%, susut pengeringan 5,40±0,26% dan 6,93±0,76%, kadar abu total 2,20±0,03% dan 2,49±0,02%, kadar abu tidak larut asam 0,04±0,02% dan 0,06±0,02%, cemaran logam berat Pb 0,007±0,000mg/kg dan 0,010±0,003mg/kg, Cd 0,006±0,001mg/kg dan 0,009±0,002 mg/kg.Kesimpulan : Hasil parameter spesidik dan non spesifik kedua sampel simplisia kulit buah G.forbesii memenuhi persyaratan standar.Kata kunci: Mundar, simplisia, spesifik, non spesifik.

Abstract

Salah satu metabolit yang dihasilkan tumbuhan yaitu flavonoid. Tanaman yang mengandung flavonoid umumnya memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak terdapat di Kalimantan Selatan yaitu kalangkala (Litsea angulata). Buah kalangkala umumnya hanya dikonsumsi sebagai pelengkap makanan. Daun kalangkala secara empiris digunakan sebagai pengobatan tradisional. Daun kalangkala juga mudah didapat karena mampu tumbuh terus menerus. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dan kadar flavonoid total dari daun kalangkala. Penelitian diawali dengan pengambilan sampel daun yang berada di Banjarbaru Kalimantan Selatan. Daun selanjutnya dikeringkan, lalu dihaluskan, kemudian diekstraksi secara maserasi dengan etanol 70%. Hasil maserasi didapat ekstrak cair yang selanjutnya diuapkan, hingga didapat ekstrak kental. Ekstrak kental dihitung nilai rendemen dan diuji kualitatif kandungan flavonoid. Ekstrak daun kalangkala diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH dan ditetapkan kadar flavonoid dengan pereaksi AlCl3 menggunakan alat Spektrofotometer UV-ViS. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa rendemen ekstrak sebesar 4,98%, teridentifikasi keberadaan flavonoid dengan tiga metode berbeda, memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 302,80 ppm, dan kadar flavonoid total sebesar 0,395%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian diketahui daun kalangkala memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan kadar flavonoid total 0,395% b/b
