Abstract

Kemampuan retensi tanah dapat ditingkatkan dengan membenahi stuktur tanah melalui penambahan biochar pada tanah. Hubungan pemberian biochar dengan meningkatnya retensi tanah dapat dilihat dari peningkatan penyerapan air dan pH. Ukuran pori-pori pada biochar dapat menambah ukuran pori-pori tanah yang dapat memaksimalkan penyerapan air, sehingga semakin besar pori-pori biochar maka semakin tinggi tingkat retensi tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan ukuran permukaan pori-pori dan pH pada bahan baku biochar terhadap kemampuan menjaga retensi tanah sehingga dapat membantu mengembalikan kemampuan retensi tanah agar tanah tetap subur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen untuk mengukur penyerapan air dengan memberi air melalui alat infus ke pot berlubang yang sudah berisi campuran biochar dan tanah, lalu mengukur pH dengan menggunkana pH for soil. Untuk mengetahui bahan baku biochar yang tepat dengan permasalahan pada tanah, maka penelitian ini menggunakan 3 biochar dengan bahan baku yang berbeda yaitu tongkol jagung, batang pepaya , tempurung kelapa. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah campuran tanah dengan biochar tempurung kelapa yang paling banyak menyerap air, dan campuran tanah dengan biochar tongkol jagung yang memiliki pH tertinggi. Soil retention ability can be improved by improving soil structure through the addition of biochar to the soil. The relationship between biochar and increased soil retention can be seen from the increase in water absorption and pH. The size of the pores in biochar can increase the size of the soil pores which can maximize water absorption, so that the larger the biochar pores, the higher the soil retention rate. This study aims to determine the effect of differences in pore surface size and pH on biochar raw materials on the ability to maintain soil retention so that it can help restore soil retention ability so that the soil remains fertile. The method used in this research is an experimental method to measure water absorption by giving water through an infusion device into a perforated pot that already contains a mixture of biochar and soil, then measuring the pH using pH for soil. To find out the right biochar raw material with problems in the soil, this study used 3 biochar with different raw materials, namely corn cobs, papaya stalks, and coconut shells. The results of this study were the soil mixture with coconut shell biochar which absorbed the most water and the soil mixture with corncob biochar which had the highest pH.

Abstract

Exposure to electromagnetic radiation to humans is unavoidable due to advances in technology. Electromagnetic radiation from cell phones has many side effects that can interfere with human health. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the detrimental effects of electromagnetic radiation from cell phones on human health, which are considered in daily life. A narrative-style evaluation of the literature from several national and international periodicals. This writing is based on search results conducted online with a search engine in the form of Google Scholar literature sources with inclusion criteria of research conducted with a time limit of 10 years back with a time span of 2012-2022. This type of research is library research. The data collection technique of this research used secondary data. Cell phone use for 10 years or more significantly increases the risk of developing an acoustic neuroma. Cell phone use for one hour per day increases the risk of developing a brain tumor after 10 years or more. The effects caused by electromagnetic wave radiation from cell phones are Physiological Effects and Psychological Effects. There are efforts to minimize the effect of cell phone radiation on health.

Abstract

Plastic waste is an environmental problem that is very difficult to solve. To decompose it alone takes approximately 80 years for the plastic waste to decompose completely. In 2022, plastic waste will be the second most generated waste after food waste, which is 17.8% of all waste generated in Indonesia. Therefore, this research was made to overcome environmental problems due to plastic waste by utilizing thermal technology in the manufacture of Wood Plastic Composite (WPC). This research uses the literature study method by collecting several reading sources from previous research. In the utilization of thermal technology, several stages are carried out, namely washing, drying, chopping, then given thermal treatment, and the last is printing. the utilization of thermal technology in the processing of plastic waste into Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) is effective in reducing environmental pollution due to plastic waste. Processing plastic waste through thermal technology will increase the durability of Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) such as water resistance, color resistance to ultraviolet radiation, and this material is environmentally friendly. The utilization of thermal technology in converting plastic waste into Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) will help reduce the amount of plastic waste and reduce environmental pollution due to plastic waste.

Abstract

Indonesia has a lot of great potential that can help human resources in carrying out daily activities, especially in the maritime sector, which is very broad and large, measuring almost ± 6,000,000 km2. Unfortunately, the utilization of air wave energy has not been fully utilized optimally and several researchers have not carried out much research regarding the electrical energy formed from sea waves. The government has a policy to facilitate researchers' interest in conducting research so that there are many numerical specifications for the energy potential of ocean currents in turbine trials. There has been research into turbine trials at sea since 2006. Current turbines are an alternative energy source from kinetic energy to electrical energy. This research was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method, namely research that can describe the results that have been obtained by several studies that have been carried out previously. So far, the resources used by humans to generate electricity mostly use non-renewable resources such as fossil fuels (petroleum and coal).

Abstract

The collection of knowledge and techniques used to create tools, a system, and a method that helps us solve problems to achieve certain goals is called technology. Technology also covers various fields, such as information technology, biomedical technology, agricultural technology, and many more. Where each field uses its own knowledge and techniques to create solutions to problems in everyday life. Water is the most important component in life on earth, all living creatures need water to survive, including humans. Chemically, water consists of hydrogen atoms (H) bonded to oxygen atoms (O), so it has the chemical formula H20. However, currently the clean water crisis is occurring in almost all big cities in Indonesia. Due to water pollution due to human activities, such as industrial waste disposal, intensive agriculture, and the use of dangerous chemicals, water loses its best quality. Therefore, water treatment technology has a very important role to support people's needs for clean water.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan pemerataan akses air bersih di daerah Jember yang berfokus pada peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Melalui metode kajian pustaka, penelitian ini mereview kendala-kendala utama yang mempengaruhi distribusi yang merata dari sumber air bersih di berbagai wilayah Jember. Faktor geografis, infrastruktur, dan kondisi sanitasi menjadi kendala utama dalam pemerataan akses air bersih. Selanjutnya, penelitian ini mencari solusi berkelanjutan melalui beberapa sumber dan kebijakan yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk meningkatkan distribusi yang merata dan kualitas air bersih di seluruh daerah Jember. Analisis ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap upaya pemenuhan akses air bersih dalam mencapai kesejahteraan masyarakat di daerah tersebut.

Abstract

In order to support educational needs, it is necessary to analyze student readiness in facing the era of society 5.0 by analyzing digital literacy. Digital literacy is a capability that needs to be analyzed before implementing digital technology-integrated learning.  Science is a subject of learning that is closely related to the development of science and technology and need to be urged for its development in the society 5.0 era. This study uses a descriptive quantitative research method. The subjects in this study consisted of 75 junior high school students from two schools in Jember Regency who were selected by purposive sampling. The results of the study show that 4 aspects of digital literacy, namely functional skills, effective communication, critical thinking and evaluation, and e-safety are at an advanced level. While aspects of the ability to find and select information and aspects of cultural and social understanding are at the intermediate level. Another aspect that is at the basic level is creativity and collaboration. Referring to these results, students' digital literacy in Jember Regency is already good in various aspects, although there are some aspects that still need to be improved. Digital literacy has the opportunity to facilitate the learning process in the classroom in the era of society 5.0.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to explore the computational thinking skills using Microcontroller under implementation of science module. Computational thinking is not only an investment in computer science, but can be applied across disciplines as a step towards solving higher-order thinking problems. Improving computational thinking skills helps students to adapt to the digital age of the 21st century. To improve these skills, a tool or media is needed, such as a learning module, that can guide students in performing activities in this area. This module contains student activity using microcontrollers as a tool for collecting data. The analysis data include practicality and effectiveness of the science module. The method used was a group pre-post test as learning assessment and use practicality observation sheet, student pretest - posttest and student response questionnaire. The results of this study are the practicality of 92% which is declared very practical, and the effectiveness of 0.78 obtained from the n-gain analysis which means it is quite effective, the p-value of paired sample t-test is less than the threshold of 0.05 which indicates a significant increase in students' computational thinking skills and direct student experience in connecting sensors related to technological applications applied in the world of agriculture and get a positive response with a score of 72% with a good category. From the results of the analysis obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of the module can improve students' computational thinking skills

Abstract

Gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) merupakan radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik dengan rentang yang sangat rendah, yaitu antara 0 hingga 300 Hz. Penerapan medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF)  dapat menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme penyebab kerusakan pada industri pangan, sehingga membantu mempertahankan nilai pH yang optimal pada produk makanan. Penelitian gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian eksperimen laboratorium yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh medan magnet Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) terhadap ketahanan pH, massa jenis, aroma, tekstur dan rasa pada bahan pangan tape sigkong matang. Intensitas medan magnet yang kami gunakan pada penelitian ini sebesar 750 μT dengan dua kelompok subjek yang akan di amati yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Alat dan bahan utama yang dibutuhkan pada penelitian gelombang Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) yaitu tape singkong matang dan EMF-meter untuk mengukur radiasi elektromagnetik. Hasil penelitian pada kelompok eksperimen memiliki pH lebih tinggi daripada kelompok kontrol sehingga radiasi gelombang elektromagnetik Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) mempengaruhi aroma, tekstrur, dan rasa tape singkong matang tersebut. Hasil penelitiannya kelompok eksperimen memiliki ketahanan yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh medan magnet elektromagnetik ELF terhadap ketahanan tempe. Medan  elektromagnetik  (ELF)  adalah  sejenis  radiasi  non-pengion  karena  spektrum gelombang  elektromagnetiknya  memiliki  frekuensi  di  bawah  300  Hz.  Salah satu manfaat dari gelombang  ELF  yaitu  dapat  dimanfaatkan  untuk  mengawetkan  bahan  pangan.  Bahan pangan yang sering dijumpai, kerap memiliki daya tahan atau masa simpan yang terbatas, gelombang ELF ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menambah daya tahan atau masa simpan bahan makanan seperti tempe. Beberapa  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paparan medan magnet ELF dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan bakteri tertentu, yang berperan penting dalam proses  fermentasi makanan  seperti  tempe. Pada penelitian kali ini kita menggunakan metode eksperimen laboratorium  yang merupakan metode penelitian dengan tujuan menjelaskan hubungan antara sebab dan akibat dari satu variabel dengan variabel yang lain. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dengan pemberian paparan medan magnet ELF, kualitas fermentasi meningkat, memperpanjang masa simpan, dan menjaga stabilitas kualitas tempe, sehingga teknologi ini memiliki potensi besar untuk diterapkan secara luas dalam industri pangan.
