Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between maximum strength with jump height and spike accuracy in volleyball. Maximum strength is measured using the 1 Maximum Repetition (1 RM) method, while jump height is measured by the vertical jump test, and spike accuracy is measured through the volleyball spike accuracy test. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 12 samples from the core team of the Indonesian Education University volleyball UKM who have met certain criteria. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between maximum strength and jump height, but there is no significant relationship between maximum strength and spike accuracy. Simultaneous tests show that maximum strength is significantly related to jump height and spike accuracy simultaneously.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between leg power endurance and arm power endurance and the performance of the 50-meter breaststroke among athletes of the Tendy Swimming Club. The study employed a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The population and sample consisted of 15 athletes selected using a total sampling technique. The research instruments included the hurdle jump endurance test to measure leg power endurance, the clapping push-up test to measure arm power endurance, and a 50-meter breaststroke swimming test to measure swimming performance. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and the Pearson correlation test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed a strong and significant negative relationship between arm power endurance and 50-meter breaststroke performance (r = −0.656; p < 0.05), as well as a very strong and significant negative relationship between leg power endurance and 50-meter breaststroke performance (r = −0.922; p < 0.05). These findings indicate that higher levels of leg and arm power endurance are associated with faster swimming times. Therefore, it can be concluded that leg and arm power endurance have a significant relationship with 50-meter breaststroke performance, with leg power endurance showing a more dominant contribution and requiring special attention in swimming training programs.

Abstract

Study purpose. This study aimed to investigate the impact of multilateral learning methods on the acceleration of motor educability in elementary school students, with an analytical focus on manipulative coordination and sensorimotor adaptability. Materials and methods. Employing a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, this study involved 50 fifth-grade students selected via purposive sampling. The pedagogical intervention was implemented over a six-week period, integrating multilateral principles into the formal physical education curriculum through small sided games and fundamental movement circuits. Assessment instruments specifically tennis ball throwing and catching tests alongside basketball throwing tests were utilized to evaluate the efficacy of force control and the students' capacity for adaptive calibration to variability in object mass. Data were subsequently analyzed using a paired samples t-test at a 5% significance level to determine the statistical significance of the intervention's impact Results. The results demonstrated a significant increase in motor performance across both measurement parameters; the mean score for the tennis ball throw significantly increased from 7.74 to 8.00 (t_observed = 2.768 > t_table = 2.009; p = 0.008). A more substantial significance was identified in the basketball instrument, where scores rose from 3.07 to 3.37 (t_observed = 9.440 > t_table = 2.009; p < 0.001). These findings provided empirical evidence that multilateral intervention effectively stimulated neuromuscular plasticity in students, enabling precise force calibration during transitions in object characteristics. Conclusions. It was concluded that the implementation of multilateral learning based on equipment modification was a significant strategy for optimizing motor educability profiles while strengthening the foundation of physical literacy in children's developmental phases.
