Abstract

The main issue in this study is that many students still have difficulty integrating theory with practice, particularly at the stages of data visualization and interpretation. This study aims to explore students' understanding of data collection and analysis techniques in research statistics courses through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) method. A qualitative descriptive approach was used in this study, involving 22 students from the Chemistry Education Program. Students were applied to each stage of PJBL, namely: (1) Determining the Main Question, (2) Compiling a Project Plan, (3) Collecting and Analyzing Data, (4) Compiling Results and Interpretation, and (5) Project Evaluation. The results showed that students demonstrated a good understanding at the initial stages, such as Determining the Main Question and Compiling a Project Plan, which reflects their ability to understand and design the data analysis process. At more complex stages, such as Data Collection and Analysis and Compiling Results and Interpretation, it was found that some students had difficulty connecting the analysis results with the research context. Students' reflections during the Project Evaluation phase indicated that they were aware of the challenges they faced, such as the in-depth understanding of data visualization and interpretation techniques, as well as the importance of applying theory to practice. This study highlights the importance of the PJBL approach in supporting experiential learning to enhance students' understanding of research statistical techniques. Through in-depth exploration, this study provides insights into the learning challenges and the potential of project-based learning strategies to enhance students' research skills in higher education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau secara sistematis literatur yang berkaitan dengan pengembangan instrumen psikomotorik untuk menilai keterampilan laboratorium kimia. Tinjauan ini dilakukan melalui pendekatan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan proses pencarian literatur, seleksi dan kriteria Inklusi, analisis data, sintesis temuan. Fokus utama dari tinjauan ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis instrumen psikomotorik, validitas, reliabilitas, serta keefektifan penggunaannya dalam praktik laboratorium kimia. Dari 25 artikel yang diperoleh, hanya 15 artikel relevan yang dipublikasikan dalam lima tahun terakhir yang dipilih untuk dianalisis sesuai dengan kriteria yang ditetapkan. Hasil tinjauan menunjukkan bahwa instrumen psikomotorik yang efektif melibatkan rubrik penilaian yang terstruktur, observasi, dan tes praktik. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa instrumen yang dikembangkan selain menilai keterampilan dasar siswa atau mahasiswa dalam melaksanakan proses praktikum, terdapat pula instrumen yang dikembangkan dengan mengukur keterampilan proses sains dan kemampuan generik sains. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian lebih lanjut yaitu peneliti dapat mengembangkan instrument penilaian aspek psikomotorik yang berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the case method in fostering meaningful learning and improving student learning outcomes. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, 20 chemistry education students participated in a series of learning activities centered around the case method. Data were collected through pretest and posttest essay assessments and analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-tests. Results showed a significant increase in the average student scores from 72.68 (pretest) to 85.21 (posttest), with a reduction in score variability, as evidenced by a t-statistic of -4.28 and a p-value of 0.00045. These findings indicate that the case method effectively enhances student understanding and promotes meaningful learning by engaging students in contextual problem-solving activities. This method aligns with constructivist learning theory and supports the development of essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and the application of theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. Furthermore, its universal applicability across various disciplines highlights its potential to enhance educational practices. Future research should explore long-term impacts, optimize case selection, and examine integration with educational technologies.

Abstract

This study investigates students’ performance in the Cambridge Lower Secondary Test, especially in science subjects, after implementing the AIR (Auditory, Intellectually, and Repetition) learning model. The research subjects are ICP (International Class Program), totaling 16 students at SMP IT Albiruni Mandiri Makassar. The implementation of the AIR model is carried out since students are in stage 8 and continue to stage 9. The type of test for stages 7 and 8 is the Cambridge Lower Secondary Progression Test. The stage 9 test type is the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint. The test results are described in the form of grades, namely Bronze, Silver, and Gold. At stage 7, the percentage of students who received Bronze was 68.75%, Silver 31.25%, and Gold 0.00%. There was a significant increase in stage 8, with 37.50% who got Bronze, 18.75% got Silver, and 43.75% got Gold. Then at stage 9, there was an increase of 68.75% of students who got Gold, 12.50% got Silver, and 18.75% got Bronze

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between students' cognitive abilities and their laboratory skills. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a correlational study design. The subjects of the study were 32 students from the Chemistry Education program. The laboratory skills assessed were related to activities in the Basic Chemistry laboratory, as this course integrates both classroom learning and laboratory practice. Cognitive ability data were obtained from quizzes, midterm exams, and final exams, while laboratory skills data were collected from assessments of pre-laboratory activities (assistance and response), laboratory experiment performance, practical reports, and a final exam conducted after all practical units were completed. The data analysis revealed a strong positive correlation between cognitive abilities and laboratory skills, with a correlation coefficient of 0.65.

Abstract

Pembelajaran sains untuk anak usia dini penting bagi dasar pemahaman mereka terhadap fenomena alam dan proses ilmiah. Anak-anak pada tahap ini sangat responsif terhadap lingkungan sekitar, sehingga pembelajaran melalui pengalaman langsung sangat efektif. Kegiatan sains yang menyenangkan dan relevan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari dapat meningkatkan rasa ingin tahu dan kreativitas anak-anak.Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah melalui kegiatan percobaan sederhana. Kegiatan percobaan yang dilakukan yakni membuat air warna berjalan dan percobaan membuat lampu lava, anak-anak dapat belajar secara aktif tentang prinsip-prinsip dasar sains. Adapun pelaksanaan kegiatan ini berlangsung pada hari Jumat tanggal 9 Februari 2024 di Taman Kanak-Kanak Sipakalebbi Kabupaten Gowa.Pada kegiatan membuat air warna berjalan, air berwarna melewati tisu dan mengalir pada gelas kosong akan menghasilkan warna gabungan dari 2 warna primer atau disebut sebagai warna sekunder. Percobaan sederhana ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan kreativitas anak-anak. Hal Ini penting untuk perkembangan saraf otak dan kepekaan visual mereka. Kegiatan eksperimen selanjutnya adalah percobaan membuat lampu lava yang menarik perhatian anak TK sebab percobaan ini diberikan cahaya dari lampu senter yang membuat gelembung gas semakin tampak dan terlihat semakin banyak. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir anak-anak dan memberikan edukasi tentang sains sederhana. Di akhir kegiatan, anak-anak diberi reward berupa susu dan snack agar setelah mencoba hal-hal baru, mereka diberikan kesan pembelajaran sains yang menyenangkan. Abstract

Penulisan karya ilmiah merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang sangat penting bagi guru. Melalui penulisan karya ilmiah guru dapat meningkatkan kompetensi dan profesionalismenya terutama dalam aspek keterampilan membaca, pengorganisasian data secara sistematis, hingga kemampuan dalam melakukan presetasi pada forum ilmiah, serta melakukan publikasi ilmiah. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru – guru. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Majene, Sulawesi Barat dengan peserta pelatihan yaitu guru – guru SMAN 1 Pamboang sebanyak 15 orang. Kegiatan ini dilakukan oleh dosen pengabdi dari jurusan Kimia FMIPA UNM melalui LP2M. Beberapa hal menjadi pembahasan dalam kegiatan ini diantaranya yaitu urutan dan sistematisasi dalam elemen – elemen  karya ilmiah, penggunaan bahasa yang akademis, jelas, dan objektif, serta struktur dan aturan penulisan yang bervariasi tergantung pada bidang ilmu dan format yang diikuti. Hasil PKM secara umum direspon “sangat baik” oleh 15 peserta dari hasil jajak persepsi melalui angket yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdi. Mereka berharap kegiatan-kegiatan sejenis ini berkelanjutan untuk lebih meningkatkan profesionalisme guru-guru. Selama pelatihan berlangsung peserta mengikutiya secara antusias terlihat dari keterlibatan peserta secara aktif dalam tahapan diskusi dan berlatih menyusun sebuah karya ilmiah sesuai dengan materi yang disampaikan.

Abstract

Abstrak – Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru-guru kimia SMA di Kabupaten Takalar dalam mengimplementasikan peer teaching pada model Discovery Learning (DL). Latar belakang kegiatan ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman guru terkait penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka, khususnya dalam mengombinasikan model pembelajaran inovatif dengan metode yang partisipatif. Pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu pemaparan teori, praktik penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran (RPP dan LKPD), simulasi pembelajaran, refleksi, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 85% guru peserta pelatihan mampu memahami dan mempraktikkan penerapan peer teaching pada model DL. Produk yang dihasilkan meliputi perangkat pembelajaran, media berbasis presentasi dan video, serta dokumentasi digital. Program ini berdampak pada meningkatnya motivasi guru untuk mengajar lebih aktif, kolaboratif, dan inovatif, serta diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran kimia di SMA Takalar.Kata kunci: Peer teaching, discovery learning, MGMP Kimia, Kurikulum Merdeka

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) on students’ science process skills (SPS) in science education through a systematic literature review. Out of 70 initially identified articles, 30 were shortlisted, and 14 were ultimately selected based on their relevance and methodological rigor. The reviewed studies were obtained from open-access journals and employed various research designs, including quasi-experimental, classroom action research, qualitative case study, and research and development (R&D) approaches. A systematic review protocol was applied, comprising stages of identification, title and abstract screening, and full-text assessment to ensure inclusion quality. Data were analyzed through the extraction of article characteristics, research design, educational level, science domain, SPS instruments, major findings, and pedagogical mechanisms. The findings indicate that most studies reported significant enhancement of SPS following the implementation of PjBL, with the most frequently improved dimensions being observation (64%), classification (36%), experimental planning (50%), hypothesis formulation (36%), and communication (29%). Supporting factors for effective implementation included the integration of local contexts (ethnoscience), the use of interactive digital media (e.g., comics, Lectora applications), validation of learning materials, teacher scaffolding, and student collaboration, whereas studies reporting non-significant effects were mainly constrained by poor adherence to PjBL syntax and limited project duration. Overall, the results affirm that PjBL holds strong potential for enhancing SPS across various areas of science learning, particularly when supported by coherent pedagogical mechanisms, consistent instructional design, sufficient teacher facilitation, and the use of contextualized media to maximize its educational effectiveness.

Abstract

Abstrak Kelompok Ternak Citra Mandiri adalah sekelompok peternak yang berfokus pada bisnis peternakan di Desa Padang Sakti, Kecamatan Muara Satu, Kota Lhokseumawe. Kegiatan utama mereka adalah pengembangan sapi, terutama dalam hal pemeliharaan dan pembesaran sapi potong berkualitas dari jenis Sapi Aceh. Salah satu tantangan yang dihadapi oleh kelompok ini adalah kurangnya pakan berkualitas serta minimnya pengetahuan tentang pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit pada sapi, terutama ketika wabah Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK) melanda Kota Lhokseumawe. Pakan yang biasanya diberikan terdiri dari hijauan berupa rumput lapangan dan jerami padi, yang menunjukkan rendahnya kualitas pakan, sehingga pertumbuhan sapi bibit dan sapi yang digemukan menjadi terhambat. Dalam program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, dilakukan penyuluhan untuk memberikan pengetahuan, terutama mengenai penyediaan pakan menggunakan teknologi fermentasi, silase, dan amoniasi, serta langkah-langkah untuk mencegah dan mengatasi wabah penyakit mulut dan kuku yang sedang terjadi. Metode yang diterapkan dalam program ini adalah dengan menyelenggarakan penyuluhan dan diskusi dengan anggota kelompok petani ternak, serta praktik langsung pembuatan pakan fermentasi, silase, dan amoniasi, serta pelatihan tentang penanganan penyakit Mulut dan Kuku. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa anggota kelompok tani ternak menunjukkan antusiasme yang besar dalam mengikuti penyuluhan dan berdiskusi langsung dengan tim pengabdian. Anggota kelompok telah memahami teknologi pembuatan pakan ternak mulai dari fermentasi hingga silase dan amoniasi, serta pentingnya langkah-langkah pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit mulut dan kuku pada hewan ternak. Kata kunci: kualitas; pakan; kesehatan ternak; PMK. Abstract Jaya Bersama Farmer Group is a group of cattle farmers who experience challenges in increasing pregnancy and birth rates. The problem that farmers face is the undetected occurrence of estrus or lambing, so that mating scheduling becomes inappropriate and results in failure in the pregnancy process. To overcome this problem, a community service was carried out by applying strategies for pregnancy examination and estrus synchronization (SE) so that signs of estrus are more easily visible. This community service activity consists of three stages, namely socialization, implementation, and evaluation. In the first stage, information and agreements related to the SE program were delivered, followed by implementation in the field. A total of 36 productive female cows were used in this activity, and from the examination of reproductive organs, 7 cows were found to be pregnant, 10 cows had reproductive problems, and 19 cows were ready for estrus synchronization. The hormone used in this process is PGF2α with a two-time injection method. From the synchronization results, 18 cows were observed showing signs of estrus, while 1 cow was not observed. Based on the results of estrus synchronization activities, it can be concluded that the use of estrus synchronization activities can increase the number of cows in heat in the jaya Bersama Livestock Group. Keywords: quality; feed; livestock health; FMD .
