Abstract

Abstract

Cancer is one of the diseases that is the main cause of death in many parts of the country. In treating this disease, it can be done through chemotherapy, which can destroy cancer cells. However, there are side effects that can be felt by patients, namely nausea and vomiting. These symptoms can interfere with the patient's quality of life so that they become less compliant in following the next therapy. To overcome this nausea and vomiting condition, a type of non-pharmacological therapy can be tried, such as giving ginger aromatherapy which is known to contain active compounds such as gingerol and shogaol which can relieve these symptoms. Quantitative research with a Quasy Experiment design with a One Group Pretest Posttest approach was chosen in this research. A sample of 23 people was determined using the purposive sampling method. Analysis was carried out on the characteristics of respondents and the effect of ginger aromatherapy on nausea and vomiting was tested using a paired sample t-test. The results showed a change in the mean value from 4.52 to 2.48 or a decrease of 2.04, with a t value of 4.97, and a p value of 0.000 which can be interpreted that ginger aromatherapy can reduce the level of nausea and vomiting in cancer patients after aromatherapy. Ginger aromatherapy has been proven to reduce nausea and vomiting levels, making it suitable for recommendation for cancer patients after chemotherapy, so it can provide comfort and improve the patient's quality of life.

Abstract

The rapid development of digitalization has brought significant changes to all aspects of life, especially the way humans communicate and law enforcement. As a widespread and interactive digital platform, social media provides a space for people to express themselves publicly. However, this freedom also brings new challenges, such as the spread of misinformation, hate speech, and defamation, which often result in legal action. In Indonesia, regulations regarding digital communication practices are mainly regulated through the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). Although the law is an important tool for maintaining social order, its implementation often triggers debate about the balance between protecting freedom of expression and the state's obligation to maintain social order. This article discusses the ethics of digital communication in the context of law enforcement, emphasizing the balance between protecting individual privacy and the public interest. The author discusses the various challenges faced in the implementation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) and considers its impact on human rights, especially in terms of freedom of expression and personal data protection. On the one hand, individuals have the right to maintain their privacy; on the other hand, the state has an obligation to maintain public security and control the spread of information that can disrupt public order. In this way, this article is expected to enrich the understanding of the dynamics of digital communication ethics in the legal field and provide input for better policy making in the future.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how digital literacy, tax incentives, and tax knowledge affect the long-term success of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Bengkulu City. The background is the rapid growth of MSMEs in Bengkulu City which will reach 44,742 units in 2024 and the challenges of sustainability in the digital era, as well as taxation issues which are crucial factors in achieving business sustainability. The study uses Resource-Based View Theory as a conceptual basis to explain how strategic resource integration can create competitive advantage. Using the Slovin formula, we were able to calculate that there are 44,742 MSMEs in the population, and we used this information to choose 397 for our quantitative study. Data was collected using a Likert scale questionnaire, and various statistical tests, including multiple linear regression, were used to examine the findings. According to the study's findings, digital literacy and tax incentives significantly improve the performance of sustainable MSMEs, while tax knowledge does not show a significant impact. Simultaneously, the three variables affect the performance of sustainable MSMEs with a contribution of 34.2%, indicating that tax knowledge, tax incentives, and digital literacy are factors that influence the performance of sustainable MSMEs, but there is still 65.8% of the variation explained by additional elements that are not considered in this study. The limitations of this study lie in the use of paper questionnaires due to the low response to Google Form and only using three variables in the analysis. Additional tax factors that could have a bigger impact on MSME performance include tax compliance and views of tax fairness; these should be included in future studies.
