Abstract

International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code or the International Code for Security of Ships and Port Facilities is an international regulation that complements the 1974 SOLAS Convention. Security of Ships and Port Facilities refers to port facilities and consists of Part A as orders and Part B as recommendations, which are stipulated in all ports in Indonesia, the Branta Area, one of them. ISPS Code created to facilitate shipping activities, both in terms of ship security and port facilities. The aim of this research is to describe strategies for improving ship security systems and port facilities through implementation ISPS Code in the Branta Area. The data collection technique in the research was carried out by interviews and then analyzed using SWOT. This research methodology uses mix method by collecting data directly in the field. This type of research is quantitative research analyzed using the SWOT method. The research was conducted within 12 months with. The population is ships entering and exiting the Branta area and also users of the sample port facilities Purposive Sampling. The research carried out this by distributing questionnaires that had been validated by experts. The results of the research can be obtained that the matrix value of the internal factors is 3.43 and the matrix value of the external factors is 3.44, the Cartesian diagram is in quadrant I, namely strategy aggressive .

Abstract

Abstract

Women are human resources with potential that can be utilized in various fields. Women's MSMEs can potentially improve coastal communities' welfare, independence, and empowerment. To overcome these challenges and obstacles, women's MSME businesses on the coast of Surabaya must develop several strategies for human resources for MSME actors on the coast. The research method in this study was quantitative; questionnaires were distributed to female MSME actors on the coast of Surabaya in Tambak Wedi, Kedinding, Nambangan, Bulak, Kenjeran, and Wonorejo. Eighty-two female MSME actors have filled out the questionnaire appropriately, and the data entered is processed and analyzed using SEM PLS. This research shows that the training variable has a significant positive effect on the development of human resources for female MSMEs on the coast of Surabaya. Meanwhile, other variables, such as education, health, motivation, and involvement, do not influence the development of human resources for female MSME actors on the coast of Surabaya

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a hybrid propulsion control system for a trimaran vessel using fuzzy logic. The system integrates a Brushless DC (BLDC) motor and an internal combustion engine, controlled by STM32 and ESP32 microcontrollers, with sensors for speed and current monitoring. The fuzzy logic algorithm was developed with two input variables—speed error and delta error—and one output variable for motor control. Experimental testing was conducted on a trimaran prototype in river conditions to evaluate system performance. The results show that, without fuzzy logic, the vessel’s speed fluctuated significantly, deviating from the reference set point. In contrast, with fuzzy logic control, the vessel maintained a more stable speed, achieving an average error of less than 5%. This demonstrates that fuzzy logic can effectively address the non-linear characteristics of hybrid propulsion systems, providing adaptive control that enhances speed stability and energy efficiency.

Abstract

The maritime transportation sector, especially in archipelagic countries like Indonesia, faces significant challenges in optimising ship speed and fuel efficiency, particularly when using hybrid propulsion systems. This study aims to design a ship speed control system based on fuzzy logic integrated with a hybrid propulsion system (BLDC motor and diesel engine) for a trimaran vessel. The research employed both static and dynamic testing on the system, measuring parameters such as motor RPM, current consumption, voltage, and fuel efficiency across different speed modes (from 4 km/h to 11 km/h). The results showed that the fuzzy logic-based control system notably improved speed stability and fuel efficiency, especially at lower speeds, compared to conventional systems. Additionally, the system effectively adapted to environmental conditions such as waves and currents, optimising power distribution between the BLDC motor and diesel engine. The conclusion emphasises that this fuzzy logic-based control system offers a promising solution to enhance operational efficiency in hybrid propulsion systems for maritime vessels, ensuring reduced fuel consumption and improved environmental sustainability.
