Abstract

Latar Belakang : Dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar, kemampuan literasi membaca sangat penting karena memungkinkan siswa memahami berbagai informasi tertulis. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan metode yang digunakan guru untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Studi ini melibatkan guru di salah satu sekolah dasar di SD Negeri 22 Koto Baru Kabupaten Solok yang berada di kelas empat. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan sebagai subjek penelitian. Untuk mengumpulkan data, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi digunakan. Kemudian, data dianalisis melalui tahap reduksi, penyajian naratif, dan penarikan kesimpulan Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang bacaan melalui penggunaan strategi seperti membaca bersama, pembelajaran berbasis teks naratif yang kontekstual, diskusi kelompok kecil, dan pertanyaan pemantik. Strategi-strategi ini dinilai efektif dalam menumbuhkan minat siswa dalam membaca dan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka untuk memahami teks secara kritis. Kesimpulan : Menurut penelitian ini, guru memerlukan pelatihan terus menerus untuk memilih dan menerapkan strategi membaca yang sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Pada jenjang pendidikan dasar, pembentukan karakter serta sikap belajar mandiri menjadi aspek yang sangat penting. Matematika, sebagai mata pelajaran yang sering dianggap sulit oleh siswa, menuntut adanya sikap kemandirian dalam proses belajarnya. Hasil pengamatan di SDN 16 Padang Besi memperlihatkan bahwa tingkat kemandirian siswa dalam mengikuti pelajaran matematika bervariasi, sehingga menarik untuk ditelusuri lebih dalam. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana perilaku mandiri siswa kelas V dalam belajar matematika. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga berusaha mengungkap faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemandirian belajar siswa, termasuk peranan guru dalam menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang mendukung. Metode : Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung terhadap siswa, wawancara informal dengan guru, serta dokumentasi pendukung. Subjek penelitian adalah 22 siswa kelas V SDN 16 Padang Besi, dengan fokus pada aktivitas belajar siswa saat materi bilangan cacah diajarkan. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Sebagian besar siswa menunjukkan sikap aktif selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Mereka berani menjawab pertanyaan, mengajukan pertanyaan secara sukarela, menyelesaikan latihan tanpa harus disuruh, dan bahkan saling membantu satu sama lain. Guru turut memberikan kontribusi besar dengan menciptakan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, memberikan pujian, serta memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk belajar secara mandiri. Meski demikian, terdapat satu siswa yang masih kesulitan mengikuti pelajaran, sehingga membutuhkan perhatian lebih dari guru. Kesimpulan : Secara umum, siswa kelas V di SDN 16 Padang Besi menunjukkan kemandirian yang cukup baik dalam pembelajaran matematika. Keaktifan dan rasa percaya diri siswa dalam mengikuti pelajaran tidak terlepas dari peran guru yang mampu membangun suasana belajar yang positif. Untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa, perlu dilakukan pendekatan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masing-masing individu.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kemampuan peserta didik dalam membuat karya seni rupa tiga dimensi masih tergolong rendah, seperti yang terlihat pada siswa kelas IV SDN 19 ATTS Kota Bukittinggi, di mana hanya 40% peserta didik yang mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Tujuan Pembelajaran (KKTP). Rendahnya hasil tersebut menjadi dasar dilakukannya penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menerapkan model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Tujuan : Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam membuat benda tiga dimensi melalui pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang kontekstual dan menyenangkan. Metode : Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang mencakup tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi aktivitas guru dan peserta didik, serta penilaian sikap dan keterampilan. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada setiap siklus. Rata-rata nilai peserta didik meningkat dari 73,8 pada pra siklus menjadi 80,34 pada siklus I, dan mencapai 90,07 pada siklus II. Ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 40% menjadi 100%. Kesimpulan : Dengan demikian, model PjBL terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam membuat benda tiga dimensi dan dapat direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran seni rupa di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Instilling Pancasila values from an early age serves as a crucial foundation in shaping the character of elementary school students, particularly amidst the challenges posed by digitalization and globalization. This study employs a literature review approach to explore strategies for implementing character education based on Pancasila principles. The analysis encompasses relevant academic sources published between 2020 and 2025. Findings indicate that core values such as tolerance, cooperation, and social justice can be effectively integrated through project-based learning, interactive digital media, and active collaboration between schools and families. Nonetheless, challenges persist, including the influence of unfiltered digital content and discrepancies between home and school environments. This study underscores the need for a holistic approach that incorporates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions, along with the development of innovative and context-sensitive strategies. The results are expected to contribute to strengthening character education rooted in Pancasila within primary education settings.

Abstract

Language development is a crucial aspect of a child's growth and overall development. This study aims to examine the language skills of third-grade students at SD 02 Cupak Tangah, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method through direct observation in the school environment. The findings indicate that both the social environment and peer interactions play a significant role in shaping students' language abilities. Although most students have demonstrated basic reading and writing skills, there are still challenges in using proper and correct Indonesian. Many students tend to use their mother tongue in daily communication and struggle to express ideas effectively during learning activities. Furthermore, there is a notable gap between students who are fluent readers and those who are not, which affects their classroom participation and self-confidence. Based on these findings, it is recommended to implement more contextual learning approaches, apply phonics techniques, and encourage active involvement of both parents and teachers to create a supportive environment for children's optimal language development.

Abstract

The low ability of elementary school students to understand and connect interdisciplinary concepts highlights the need for an integrative and contextual learning approach. The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) learning model offers a relevant alternative by fostering critical, creative, and collaborative competencies. This article aims to conceptually examine the implementation of STEAM in thematic learning within Indonesian elementary schools and to identify its potential and challenges. The analysis is based on a review of literature from various relevant sources discussing STEAM in primary education. The findings indicate that the STEAM model contributes to the enhancement of students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies, while supporting the development of 21st-century skills. This article recommends teacher training and the development of contextual learning tools to ensure the effective implementation of STEAM at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of interactive learning media on elementary school students' learning outcomes in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum. Interactive learning media includes educational videos, game-based applications, and digital platforms that encourage active participation and more meaningful learning. This study uses a literature review method involving 11 studies from 2016 to 2024. The results show that interactive media positively influence students' cognitive, affective, and psychomotor achievements. It is also proven effective in supporting differentiated learning and increasing learning motivation. These findings provide important implications for the development of more relevant, adaptive, and responsive learning strategies to students' needs in the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to understand how visual media is used in fourth-grade elementary education, and how visual media affects students' engagement and understanding of learning activities. This research is important as it highlights the benefits of visual learning to enhance knowledge transmission, especially in elementary schools. Data for this descriptive qualitative research was collected through documentation, interviews, and observations. The results show that teachers and fourth-grade students at one elementary school in Padang can help students remember, become more focused, and understand more complex concepts. According to the teacher, the use of visual media makes lessons more engaging and interactive. Thus, visual media is a useful teaching strategy to enhance learning in fourth-grade elementary classrooms. Teachers are encouraged to use more creativity and variety when selecting and creating visual materials that are appropriate for the curriculum and the needs of the students.

Abstract

Numerous elementary students continue to face challenges in developing reading proficiency, particularly regarding text comprehension and reading fluency. These difficulties frequently stem from inadequate learning motivation and conventional teaching approaches that fail to engage students. This research aims to examine theoretically how interactive pedagogical strategies can serve as effective solutions for addressing literacy barriers in elementary education. The study employs a comprehensive literature review methodology, systematically collecting and analyzing relevant academic sources including peer-reviewed journals and educational publications. Findings indicate that interactive learning approaches, including educational gaming, collaborative small-group activities, and visual media integration, significantly enhance student engagement and reading comprehension outcomes. These methodologies foster dynamic learning environments that promote active student participation throughout the educational process. Consequently, interactive pedagogical approaches are strongly recommended as viable alternatives for effectively addressing reading difficulties among elementary school populations.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that many grade II students at SDN Dian Andalas have difficulty learning math. The purpose of this research is to find out the causes of students having difficulty learning math, the factors that influence math learning difficulties, and the efforts made to overcome math learning difficulties. This research uses qualitative data obtained through direct interview techniques with the research sample. The results showed that 75% of grade II students at SDN Dian Adalas had difficulty learning mathematics, especially understanding the basic concepts of calculation operations. Math learning difficulties are caused by internal factors and external factors. Efforts made by students to overcome difficulties are by independent learning, asking teachers, asking parents for help, studying in groups and attending tutoring
