Abstract

This article examines the use of children's language in religious dialogue in schools. Language is a means of communication and a means of forming one's understanding. Through language, they are able to respond to and explore various religious ideas of each other. This study uses the conceptual theory of dialogueism from Mikhail Bakhtin on the assimilation of language and meaning which is a feature of children's religious discourse construction. In addition, Martin and Bartlett's concept of positive discourse and Fairclough's lingual device were also used in this study. This research was conducted in one of the private elementary schools in Sidoarjo Regency. . The choice of location cannot be separated from the fact that the school has diverse students and teachers, both in terms of ethnicity, religion, economy, and background. Students at the school are synonymous with diversity. Observations and interviews were used for data collection in this article. The results showed that children's language got various concepts and language related to religion. They engage with narratives of various beliefs and position their own understanding of religion in confluence with the words and meanings they have assimilated from the encounters of each of these traditions. In addition, the various features of language that children show positive and diverse words, This article is important to review language for religious education from a broader understanding of children's religious dialogue. (Artikel ini mengkaji penggunaan bahasa anak dalam dialog keagamaan di sekolah. Bahasa menjadi sarana komunikasi dan sarana membentuk pemahaman seseorang. Melalui bahasa, mereka mampu menanggapi dan mengeksplorasi berbagai ide agama masing-masing. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori konsepsi tentang dialogisme dari Mikhail Bakhtin pada asimilasi bahasa dan makna yang merupakan ciri konstruksi wacana keagamaan anak-anak. Selain itu, konsep wacana positif Martin dan Bartlett serta piranti lingual Fairclough turut digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Swasta yang ada di Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pemilihan lokasi tidak terlepas bahwa sekolah tersebut memiliki siswa dan guru yang beragam, baik dari segi etnis, agama, ekonomi, dan latar belakang. Siswa di sekolah identik dengan keberagaman. Observasi dan wawancara digunakan untuk pengumpulan data pada artikel ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahasa anak-anak mendapatkan berbagai konsep dan bahasa terkait dengan agama. Mereka terlibat dengan narasi berbagai kepercayaan dan memposisikan pemahaman agama mereka sendiri dalam kaitannya dengan kata-kata dan makna yang telah mereka asimilasi dari pertemuan dengan masing-masing tradisi tersebut. Abstract

The independent curriculum goes hand in hand with the rapid development of technology. Students must go alongside with various technologies. Digital literacy is not just about students being able to operate technology.This learning is applied to the material of understanding poetry in class X SMK. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview and observation models as data sources. The results show that android-based learning is in accordance with the needs of students. This research aims to provide an overview of how effective the application made by the author to be applied for education in school. The results show that mobile learning is a digital learning media which is in accordance with students’ needs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan otoritas tradisional dalam novel Damar Kambang karya Muna Masyari perspektif sosiologi Max Weber. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian pustaka. Sumber data diperoleh melalui novel Damar Kambang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode teknik studi pustaka dan teknik baca catat. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data menurut Miles dan Huberman. Pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teori. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa otoritas tradisional yang ada dalam novel Damar Kambang merupakan suatu bentuk kekuasaan yang didasarkan kepercayaan dan keyakinan pada tradisi, adat istiadat, norma-norma, serta nilai-nilai yang sudah terjadi sejak dahulu secara turun-temurun yang diperleh dari nenek moyangnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya ketertarikan peneliti tentang karya sastra. peneliti memilih novel sebagai objek, kebanyakan novel diangkat dari kehidupan sipenulis yang menceritakan kehidupan masyarakat (manusia). Hierarki kebutuhan Abraham Maslow tidak hanya ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, salah satunya ditemukan dalam karya sastra. Dalam perspektif psikologi, tingkah laku seseorang ditentukan oleh keinginan untuk mencapai kehidupan yang lebih bahagia dan memuaskan menurut pandangan individu masing-masing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kebutuhan fisiologis, kebutuhan rasa aman, kebutuhan cinta dan kasih, kebutuhan harga diri, kebutuhan aktualisasi diri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendeketakan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriftif. Penelitian kualitatif merupakan penelitian yang seringkali menonjolkan perspektif subjek, proses dan makna dari penelitian tersebut dengan menggunakan landasan teori-teori sebagai pendukung agar sesuai dengan fakta-fakta yang sebenarnya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat yaitu dengan membaca kritis serta memahami, Menandai teks-teks atau data yang berkaitan dengan kebutuhan bertingkat tokoh, Mengutip data yang berupa kata, frasa, kalimat, paragraf, dan wacana yang mengandung lima aspek kebutuhan, mencatat teks dialog, kutipan dan narasi pada novel berjudul Gadis Kretek karya Ratik Kumala. Adapun cara menganalisi data yaitu mengidentifikasi data pada tokoh utama, mengklasifikasi kebutuhan bertingkat pada tokoh utama, mendeksripsikan data hierarki kebutuhan dan macam-macam pada tokoh novel, menyimpulkan data-data hierarki kebutuhan. Adapun hasilnya yaitu kebutuhan fisiologis pada tokoh Dasiyah terpenuhi berupa pemenuhan ASI pada Dasiyah yang masih bayi, kebutuhan rasa aman pada tokoh Dasiyah belum terpenuhi dikarenakan tokoh sangat terancam dan tidak memiliki kebebasan, kebutuhan cinta kasih pada tokoh Dasiyah sudah terpenuhi yaitu Dasuyah menemukan laki-laki yang ia cintai, kebutuhan harga diri pada tokoh Dasiyah sudah terpenuhi yaitu tingwe bikinan Dasiyah di beli dengan harga yang mahal, kebutuhan aktualisasi diri pada tokoh Dasiyah juga terpenuhi dubuktikan Tokoh membuat percaya ayahnya dengan segala prilaku tokoh setiap hari yang tidak meragukan lagi ayahnya untuk menjadi penggantinya.

Abstract

Environmental and gender issues are two urgent and interconnected problems. Exploitation of nature often goes hand in hand with the oppression of women, especially in patriarchal and capitalist systems. Therefore, it is important to examine the literary work in the form of selected short stories from the 2025 edition of Kompas, which represents this interconnectedness. Literature is considered relevant because it serves not only as entertainment but also as a medium for social criticism and ecological reflection. The research methodology uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis design. Primary data consists of short stories published in Kompas in 2025, while secondary data is obtained from theoretical books and scientific articles. Data collection techniques were carried out through documentation, reading, note-taking, and text classification, which were then analyzed using an ecofeminist perspective. The research examines how the relationship between women and nature is represented in short stories. By identifying narratives that feature symbols, metaphors, and events linking gender oppression with ecological damage. The study results show that women are depicted as both a marginalized group and agents of resistance, while nature is positioned as a neglected entity. Ecofeminist analysis reveals that the exploitation of women and nature both stem from the logic of patriarchal domination and capitalism. This research not only demonstrates the relevance of gender and environmental issues in literary texts but also makes a significant contribution to the study of contemporary Indonesian literature by introducing an ecocriticism-feminism perspective as a new lens for understanding the social, cultural, and ecological dynamics manifested in contemporary literary works.

Abstract

This article uses positive discourse analysis to examine President Joko Widodo's speech during the Covid-19 Pandemic era. The purpose of this study is to offer exploratory insights into texts and utterances that reflect discursive practices in providing serenity and describe how discourse can be used to provide social progressiveness. This analysis is guided by positive discourse analysis which focuses more on progressivity using lexical items, delivery strategies, metaphors, diction selection, and modalities. With this strategy, we try to describe how a state leader constructs a discourse of peace and suggest people to stay calm in the community amid panic caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This research highlights how rhetoric can be interpreted as a message, hope, protection, and giving peace. The results showed that Joko Widodo used metáfor and diction to support the stability and tranquility of society in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. Joko Widodo gave a calm feeling by conveying the same feelings about getting through the pandemic. Positive discourse at least contributes to the problems at hand. AbstrakArtikel ini menggunakan analisis wacana positif untuk menelaah tuturan Presiden Joko Widodo di era Pandemi Covid-19. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menawarkan wawasan eksplorasi teks dan tuturan yang menyarankan praktik diskursif dalam memberikan keterangan dan menggambarkan bagaimana wacana dapat digunakan untuk memberi progresif sosial. Analisis ini berpedoman pada analisis wacana positif yang lebih fokus pada progresivitas dengan menggunakan piranti leksikal, strategi penyampaian, metafor, pemilihan diksi, dan modalitas. Dengan strategi ini, penelitian ini mencoba menggambarkan konstruksi wacana kedamaian dan menciptakan ketenangan pada masyarakat di tengah kepanikan akibat pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menyoroti bagaimana retorika dapat dimaknai sebagai sebuah pesan, harapan, perlindungan, dan pemberi ketenangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Joko Widodo menggunakan metáfor dan diksi guna mendukung stabilitas dan ketenangan masyarakat di era pandemi Covid-19. Joko Widodo memberikan sebuah ketenangan dengan menyampaikan perasaan yang sama untuk melewati pandemi. Wacana positif setidaknya memberi kontribusi dalam permasalahan yang dihadapi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ecological dimensions in the folklore of Sumber Taman Sari in Madura. This research employs a multidisciplinary approach, combining ecocriticism, cultural studies, environmental ethics, and folkloristics, using Lévi-Strauss' structuralism theory. Data was collected through interviews with local community leaders and field observations at the Sumber Taman Sari site. Data collection techniques included recording, note-taking, and photography. The analysis involved separating data based on the structural elements of the folklore and interpreting the ecological dimensions contained within. The findings reveal that the water source in the story is regarded as a symbol of purity and ecological balance. Prohibitions on the use of natural resources, such as trees and animals around the water source, reflect the community's efforts to maintain ecosystem balance. Moreover, annual rituals performed at the water source reinforce the spiritual relationship between humans and nature. The folklore functions as a medium of conservation and the dissemination of local wisdom.

Abstract

Research on literary ecology (ecocriticism) has been widely conducted, but studies on the anthology of poems Negeri di Atas Kertas using Lawrence Buell's perspective are still rare. This study aims to describe (1) the relationship between nature and humans and (2) the form of ecocriticism in the poems using Buell's theory. The method used is descriptive qualitative with the primary data source being the anthology of poems Negeri di Atas Kertas by the Komunitas Sastra Nusantara, collected through a note-taking technique. Buell's theory identifies three aspects of ecocriticism, namely (1) non-human elements that play a role in the historical relationship between humans and nature, (2) the position of humans as non-dominant over nature, and (3) the dynamic nature of the environment in line with the passage of time. The results of the study show that three poems reflect the relationship between humans and nature, namely Tukang Sapu Jalan (Street Sweeper), Bunda Kami Kartini (Our Mother Kartini), and Ayah (Father). Meanwhile, four other poems contain ecocritical elements, namely Pagi Probolinggo (Morning in Probolinggo), Anak Pulau (Island Child), Bumi Pertiwi Bersabda (Mother Earth Speaks), and Negeriku Kembali Berduka (My Country Mourns Again). The relationship between humans and nature in these poems reflects Buell's principles, highlighting the emotional intimacy between humans and the natural environment.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the environmental damage that occurs in the interior of Central Kalimantan as contained in the novel Coretan-Coretan Sunyi by Ngangga Saputra, using Greg Garrard's ecocritical theory. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Qualitative research is research that has the aim of understanding events that are happening and describing them in words. This research data collection technique uses listening and note-taking techniques. This research's data analysis technique has three stages, (1) recording data related to ecocriticism such as environmental damage in the novel; (2) presenting and arranging data according to Greg Garrard's theory; (3) draw conclusions and adjust the data. The results of this research are the living conditions of people in the interior of Central Kalimantan (1) busy gold mines with the sound of machines; (2) the fate of future generations who inherit mining waste; (3) rural children who are educated to continue their parents' gold mining business. There are also impacts of environmental damage in the interior, namely, (1) environmental conditions that have been damaged; (2) the richness of the former inland forests; (3) waste that pollutes the environment; (4) pollution of the Kahayan River; and (5) there is no clean water in the interior due to rivers being polluted by company waste. The findings in this research serve as a reflection for us to preserve the environment and study environmental values ​​in literary works

Abstract

Religious conflict between KH. Shinwani Adra’i and Aswaja ulama in Madura reflects tensions between a text-based orientation toward ritual purification and socio-religious practices that have long been embedded in local culture, particularly devotional traditions such as tahlil and maulid. This study aims to uncover the roots of these tensions and to explain how discourses of difference can be transformed into narratives of peace. The research employs a qualitative approach using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis model. Data were collected through a literature-based study of YouTube sermons, responses from local kiai, and relevant academic references, then analyzed across three dimensions: text, discursive practice, and social practice. The findings indicate that the conflict arises not only from theological differences but also from competition over the legitimacy of religious authority in digital spaces, which amplifies the conflict’s resonance. However, scholarly clarification and pesantren-based mediation are able to reconstruct the meaning of “difference” as a potential resource for social learning. This study contributes to scholarship on local religious authority and proposes a discourse-based framework for reconciliation.
