Abstract

Krisis ekologi global mendorong perlunya pendekatan pendidikan Islam yang mengintegrasikan spiritualitas dengan kesadaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dan implementasi eco-pesantren sebagai model pendidikan ramah lingkungan berbasis spiritualitas Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis, melalui penelaahan literatur akademik yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi dan validitas diperkuat melalui triangulasi sumber dan diskusi sejawat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eco-pesantren merupakan model pendidikan yang menyatukan nilai-nilai keislaman seperti tauhid, amanah, dan ihsan dengan praktik ekologis dalam kehidupan pesantren. Nilai-nilai tersebut diinternalisasikan melalui kurikulum, keteladanan kiai, gaya hidup santri, serta program-program lingkungan seperti konservasi air, pertanian organik, dan pengelolaan sampah. Eco-pesantren tidak hanya membentuk santri yang saleh secara spiritual, tetapi juga bertanggung jawab sebagai khalifah fil ardh. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa spiritualitas Islam memiliki kekuatan transformatif dalam membangun kesadaran ekologis yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, eco-pesantren berpotensi menjadi model pendidikan Islam yang transformatif dan relevan dalam menghadapi tantangan krisis lingkungan global.The global ecological crisis has prompted the need for an Islamic educational approach that integrates spirituality with environmental awareness. This study aims to examine the concept and implementation of eco-pesantren as an environmentally friendly educational model based on Islamic spirituality. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach, through a review of relevant academic literature. The analysis was carried out using content analysis and validity techniques that were strengthened through source triangulation and peer discussion. The results of the study indicate that eco-pesantren is an educational model that unites Islamic values such as tauhid, amanah, and ihsan with ecological practices in the life of the pesantren. These values are internalized through the curriculum, the exemplary behavior of the kiai, the lifestyle of the students, and environmental programs such as air conservation, organic farming, and waste management. Eco-pesantren not only forms students who are spiritually pious, but also responsible as khalifah fil ardh. This finding confirms that Islamic spirituality has a transformative power in building sustainable ecological awareness. Thus, environmentally friendly pesantren has the potential to become a transformative and relevant Islamic educational model in facing the challenges of the global environmental crisis.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dynamics of Islamic studies from a Western perspective, through the views of Indonesian alumni who have studied at McGill University, Canada. Using a qualitative approach and case study design, this research explores how cross-cultural academic experiences can shape a more critical, contextual, and interdisciplinary understanding of Islam. The main focus of this study is the paradigm shift in Islamic studies in the West, which was initially dominated by orientalism, towards a more open and dialogical scientific approach. Based on in-depth interviews with three McGill alumni who are actively involved in academics and religious activities in Indonesia, the findings suggest that McGill University plays a significant role in shaping reflective Islamic thought, adaptive to social realities, and supporting moderate values such as democracy, human rights, and pluralism. The implications of these findings are crucial for the development of Islamic studies in Indonesia, offering an approach that is more inclusive and relevant to Indonesia's social and cultural dynamics

Abstract

The war takjil phenomenon during Ramadan in Indonesia is not only a tradition of food-sharing but also a space for social interaction involving people of different faiths, including the active participation of non-Muslims. This study aims to analyze how non-Muslim involvement in war takjil contributes to social harmony and tolerance in a diverse society. Using a qualitative approach and netnographic analysis of TikTok content, along with additional data from literature, this research explores how creators and netizens shape narratives of inclusivity within the Ramadan tradition. The findings indicate that non-Muslim participation in war takjil strengthens social solidarity by fostering a harmonious sense of togetherness. These results align with Émile Durkheim’s theory of social solidarity, where this tradition represents mechanical solidarity through shared values of generosity within the Muslim community and organic solidarity through interfaith interactions that reflect positive social interdependence. Thus, war takjil serves not only as a cultural practice but also as a symbol of tolerance and harmony in Indonesia’s multicultural society.   Fenomena war takjil selama Ramadan di Indonesia tidak hanya menjadi tradisi berbagi makanan tetapi juga ruang interaksi sosial yang melibatkan masyarakat lintas agama, termasuk partisipasi aktif dari non-Muslim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana keterlibatan non-Muslim dalam war takjil berkontribusi terhadap harmoni sosial dan nilai toleransi di tengah keberagaman masyarakat. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan netnografi terhadap konten TikTok, serta data tambahan didapatkan dari studi literatur. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi interaksi kreator dan netizen dalam membentuk narasi inklusivitas dalam tradisi Ramadan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi non-Muslim dalam war takjil memperkuat solidaritas sosial dengan menciptakan ruang kebersamaan yang harmonis. Temuan ini selaras dengan teori solidaritas sosial Emile Durkheim, di mana tradisi ini mencerminkan solidaritas mekanis melalui nilai berbagi yang mengikat komunitas Muslim, serta solidaritas organik melalui interaksi lintas agama yang menunjukkan ketergantungan sosial yang positif. Dengan demikian, war takjil tidak hanya menjadi praktik budaya, tetapi juga simbol toleransi dan harmoni dalam masyarakat multikultural Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan praktik zikir Walyatalattaf di Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Sengon, menganalisis mekanisme pendidikan ruhani yang berlangsung, serta menilai relevansinya terhadap pendidikan Islam kontemporer berbasis spiritualitas. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dzikir Walyatalattaf berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai ritual spiritual, tetapi juga sebagai sarana pembentukan karakter santri melalui proses instruksi, pembiasaan, bimbingan langsung, dan internalisasi budaya pesantren. Praktik ini mencerminkan model spiritual pedagogy yang mengintegrasikan aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik dalam pembelajaran. Secara konseptual, zikir Walyatalattaf sejalan dengan paradigma neo-sufisme yang menekankan pembinaan spiritual yang kontekstual dan adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman, sehingga berpotensi menjadi inspirasi bagi pengembangan pendidikan Islam yang humanis, reflektif, dan berbasis spiritualitas.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil Focus Group Discussion (FGD), rumusan pohon masalah, dan rumusan pohon harapan yang dididapatkan kesimpulan bahwa TPQ Al-Wardah Desa Wanar masih memerlukan pembinaan khususnya di bidang pengadaan dan pengelolaan sarana-prasarana yang dapat menunjang lembaga pendidikan. Selain itu, metode mengajar mengaji masih monoton sehingga membosankan dan kurang efektif. Penguatan kelembagaan melalui pemberdayaan sumber daya pendidikan di TPQ Al-Wardah perlu dilakukan. Melalui pengabdian masyarakat di TPQ Al-Wardah yang bertajuk upgrading sarana dan metode pembelajaran Al-Qur’an. Strategi yang digunakan yaitu (1) FGD dengan pihak lembaga dan instansi terkait, (2) merumuskan metode pembelajaran variatif dan sarana prasarana yang diperlukan TPQ, (3) melakukan pembaharuan sarana prasarana mengaji di TPQ, (4) menyelenggarakan pelatihan metode pembelajaran Al-Quran yang menyenangkan melalui metode 3B (Bermain, Bercerita, dan Bernyanyi) serta praktikum metode Pembelajaran. Adapun sarana yang diberikan adalah lemari buku, Al quran, kitab jilid An-Nahdliyah, alat tulis, dan alat peraga. Selanjutnya pelatihan metode pembelajaran Al Qur’an 3B untuk para pengajar secara online. Hal itu dipandang efektif mengingat perlunya mematuhi protokol kesehatan di tengah wabah COVID-19.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of “shame” from an Islamic perspective and its representation through “Meme Velocity” on the social media platform TikTok. Using a qualitative approach and content analysis, this study examines the narratives, diction, religious ideological affiliations, and audience responses to shame-themed memes disseminated by Salafi-aligned accounts. The novelty of this study lies in the concept of shame in Islam and the analysis of audience responses on social media. The findings reveal that shame in Islam is a noble virtue rooted in faith (al-Haya’) and serves as a means of self-restraint against forbidden acts. The analyzed memes promote the value of shame and critique current trends, particularly the “Velocity” trend, which is deemed contrary to Islamic values. This study also reveals that these memes trigger a variety of responses, ranging from support and prayers to hostile reactions, reflecting the dynamics of digital da’wah and audience reception. The contribution of this research lies in enriching the study of digital da’wah and how the concept of modesty in Islam is constructed through social media, as well as providing implications for digital da’wah practitioners and helping to understand the complexities of religious communication in the digital age.

Abstract

The phenomenon of thrifting among Generation Z (Gen Z) presents a paradox between environmental preservation claims and the reality of consumptive behavior. While thrifting is perceived as an implementation of the circular economy, practically, it is often trapped in motives of signaling status (flexing) and hoarding, which exacerbates textile waste. This study aims to formulate a new consumption ethic termed "Eco-Sufism Consumption" to bridge the gap between lifestyle and ecological responsibility. This research employs a qualitative method with an interdisciplinary conceptual analysis framework, integrating Sociology of Consumption, Circular Economy, and Sufi Theology. The results reveal three main findings. First, sociologically, Gen Z's thrifting motives are dominated by sign value and simulacra, where second-hand goods are recommodified as social status symbols. Second, economically, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analysis validates that thrifting can reduce water footprints by up to 98% and carbon emissions by 90% compared to new production, yet this effectiveness relies on consumption volume. Third, theologically, the concepts of Zuhd (asceticism) and Qana’ah (contentment) serve as the primary controlling variables. The study concludes with a new ethical formulation: Ekp = Z x (Sos + Eko), asserting that spiritual consciousness (Zuhd) is the determining coefficient that validates the ethical value of social and economic actions. Without spiritual control, thrifting remains merely a destructive consumerist trend. This study contributes to sustainability and consumption studies by introducing a spiritually grounded ethical framework that integrates social, economic, and theological dimensions.
