Abstract

Mayoritas pesantren dianggap jauh dari realitas sosial, karena seolah-olah terdapat kesenjangan antara dunia pesantren dan dunia modern. Berangkat dari kegelisahan tersebut, beberapa pesantren saat ini mulai mengambil langkah strategis seperti perumusan kurikulum yang “progresif”. Pesantren yang merupakan lembaga pendidikan paling unik dibanding institusi yang lain yang otomatis perumusan kurikulumnya juga akan berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis organisasi dan desain kurikulum yang diterapkan di pesantren. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sementara itu, analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian ini di Pondok Pesantren Atsarus Salafiyah Sampang. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah Pondok Pesantren Atsarus Salafiyah Sampang memadukan antara organisasi kurikulum terpisah-pisah (Separated Subject Curriculum) dengan kurikulum terpadu (integrated curriculum). Sistem pembelajarannya menggunakan system tanpa kelas yang hanya membagi menjadi dua kelompok (marhalah). Metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan adalah tatap muka klasikal (sorogan dan bandongan) serta kooperatif learning. Sistem evaluasi yang diterapkan adalah tes lisan, hafalan, dan problem solving.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembinaan profesionalisme guru melalui peran kepala madrasah. Pada penelitian ini melakukan pendekatan deskripstif analisis dengan hasil data deskriptif. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan Teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi dalam pengumpulan data yang dibutuhkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Madrasah Aliyah Mathalaul Anwar Pesawaran. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah menggunakan analisis data deskriptif dengan prosedur analisis data berdasarkan Miles, Huberman, and Johnny saldana dengan tiga Langkah yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan dengan melakukan keabsahan data berdasarkan Kredibilitas, transferability, auditability, serta confirmability. Hasil yang didapat pada penelitian ini didapat bahwa pembinaan profesionalisme yang berhubungan pada kinerja kepala madrasah yang menjadi supervisor dapat membuat atau Menyusun program supervisi pendididkan yang diwujudkan dalam penyusunan program supervisi kelas serta pengupayaan melalui dukungan dari beberapa program yang dilaksanakan pemerintah guna peningkatan profesionalisme guru dengan memberikan kegiatan secara ekternal dalam bentuk workshop serta secara internal dengan melakukan evaluasi tahunan serta pemberian teguran dengan cara kekeluargaan kepada guru yang melakukan kesalahan agar tetap pada jalur sesuai dengan visi misi sekolah.

Abstract

This research delves into the integration of hybrid learning amidst digital disruption, targeting the reduction of learning gaps within PTKI (Islamic Higher Education Institutions) context. Utilizing a blend of quantitative analysis of student data and qualitative methods including interviews, surveys, and observations across three PTKIs in South Sumatra, Indonesia, the study evaluates the effectiveness of hybrid learning in mitigating learning loss. Results highlight that the combination of virtual and traditional classroom elements through hybrid learning significantly narrows learning deficits, enhances student involvement, and fosters better academic outcomes. These findings serve as a valuable contribution to understanding hybrid learning practices specifically within PTKI settings, shedding light on its potential in addressing educational challenges amid digital advancements.

Abstract

Moral degradation among students is a common phenomenon in the educational milieu; thus, guardians have a significant role to play in handling it for their future welfare. This study aims to (1) investigate the efforts of the Islamic residential school guardians in dealing with moral degradation among the students; (2) identify the obstacles they encounter and provide facilitation for dealing with the moral degradation; (3) explore the impact of the guidance given by the guardians to the students. The research is a qualitative study with a phenomenological descriptive approach. The sampling was purposive. The informants were two guardians at the pesantren, each serving as a teacher of guidance and counselling, coordinator of the student council, and five students who experienced moral decline. The results indicate that the guardians build up relationships between the school and students, instill moral values based on religious guidance, prevent the negative effect of globalization on the school, and facilitate communication with the parents if the students do something wrong. The results also show that a highly effective learning environment at the pesantren and the effective role of the student council can support and rehabilitate moral decadence. The results further reveal the impacts of the guidance on students, such as the current cohort of students, who tend to be more disciplined compared to the previous cohort. However, the lack of representative counselling rooms and some counselling teachers who are inattentive to students’ behavior is disadvantageous for rehabilitation.

Abstract

This study explores the pivotal role of mental model development in enhancing sustainability initiatives within green campuses. As universities increasingly strive to mitigate their environmental impact, understanding and fostering the mental models of students, faculty, and staff becomes crucial. Mental models, which are deeply ingrained assumptions and perspectives about how the world works, significantly influence individuals' behaviors and decision-making processes. By identifying and reshaping these mental models to align with sustainability goals, educational institutions can cultivate a more sustainable campus culture. The research employs a qualitative approach with data from university leaders and faculties. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The researcher analyzed the data using Nvivo 12Plus software through 7 stages: open coding, axial coding, selective coding, matrix coding query, and word frequency query. The results of the analysis show that, through the democratic attitude of the leaders and staff in each unit, the campus community members can express their opinions and can be well received by the leaders and staff. With a resilient mentality, every problem can be adequately resolved, and they are able to appreciate and manage diversity and not impose their will. Leaders, with material rewards, appreciate the office boys or staff at UIN Raden Intan.

Abstract

Character education is a process by which a nation prepares its nation's generation to be able to achieve a quality life. Related to this problem needs to be researched where this study is about: the values of character education through the Boarding School program at MAN 1 West Lampung. With the formulation of the problem, namely: first, what are the values of character education developed in the boarding school program at MAN 1 West Lampung? Second, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of character education values in MAN 1 West Lampung? The method in this study is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. From this study, several conclusions were produced about character education at MAN 1 West Lampung Boarding School, namely: the values of character education contained include religious character, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, friendly or communicative, responsibility and care for the environment. There are supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of environment. There are supporting and inhibiting factors in the application of character education values, these factors include internal factors such as innate and personality, as well as external factors such as family, friends, and the surrounding environment.

Abstract

The perception of a school represents how society evaluates an institution or organization based on experiences and observations, creating either a positive or negative impression that impacts the institution's sustainability. Students’ interest can be defined as their intrinsic inclination to select the best educational institution, which emerges consciously from within. This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic school perception on students’ interest in continuing their education at MAN 1 Lampung Tengah for the 2023/2024 academic year. A quantitative research method was employed, using random sampling techniques and Slovin's formula. The study population comprised 427 tenth-grade students, with a sample size of 207 students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire with four response options. Validity tests utilized the Pearson Product-Moment correlation, and reliability tests were conducted using Cronbach's Alpha, supported by SPSS software version 20. Data were analyzed through simple linear regression and coefficient of determination. The results revealed a calculated t-value of 4.587 with a significance level of 0.00, while the critical t-value at df = 205 and α = 0.05 was 1.652. Since tcalculated > ttable (4.587 > 1.652) and the significance level of 0.00 < 0.05, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. The correlation coefficient was 0.307 with a constant of 37.458, indicating that a 1% increase in school perception (X) would enhance student interest (Y) by 0.307. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 28.7%, showing that school perception positively influenced students' interest, while the remaining 71.3% was attributed to other factors not examined in this study. In conclusion, the perception of Islamic schools significantly affects students’ interest in continuing their education at MAN 1 Lampung Tengah. These findings underscore the importance of efforts by Islamic schools to build a positive image to enhance their appeal and attract prospective students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas peran buku ajar PAI-BP Kelas XI dalam membangun harmoni intern dan ekstern umat beragama di SMK Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan metode studi pustaka dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar PAI-BP telah menekankan pentingnya hidup rukun berdampingan dengan pemeluk agama lain, tetapi efektivitasnya masih bergantung pada metode pengajaran yang digunakan guru. Implementasi pembelajaran PAI-BP di SMK Negeri 2 Bandar Lampung juga mencakup berbagai strategi, seperti pendekatan interkatif, diskusi kelompok, menggunakan media social sebagai media dakwah serta sarana edukasi toleransi dan berbagai kegiatan yang mendukung keberagaman. Namun, masih terdapat tantangan seperti kurangya pemahaman sebagian siswa terhadap konsep moderasi beragama dan pengaruh eksternal yang dapat menimbulkan intoleransi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukannya penguatan dalam metode pembelajaran dan mengembangkan kurikulum agar nilai-nilai harmoni beragama dapat dipahami dan diterapkan dengan baik oleh peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the PQ4R learning model on students’ learning outcomes at the cognitive levels of analysis (C4) and evaluation (C5). Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design, Samples were selected through simple random sampling. Class VIII.1 was assigned as the experimental group receiving the PQ4R learning model, while class VIII.7 served as the control group with conventional instruction. The research instrument was a 15-item multiple-choice test validated for validity and reliability. Data analysis began with assumption testing for normality and homogeneity. Levene’s test indicated an F-value of 1.184 with a significance of 0.281, confirming homogeneity of variance between groups. The hypothesis was tested using an independent samples t-test, yielding a t-value of 5.343 with 59 degrees of freedom and a significance level of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the groups’ mean scores. The mean difference of 1.62366 with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 1.01309 to 2.23168 further supports this result. These findings conclude that the PQ4R learning model significantly improves students’ analytical and evaluative thinking skills. Therefore, the PQ4R model is recommended as an effective instructional strategy for enhancing higher-order cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Independent Curriculum is designed with a strong emphasis on empowering students, aiming primarily to foster their ability to learn independently. This curriculum introduces a novel perspective on the learning process, which is expected to enhance students’ autonomy in learning. Generally, school education is intended to nurture students’ skills so that all educational objectives can be achieved. Independent learning is considered a crucial factor influencing students’ academic success. This research seeks to explore how the implementation of the Independent Curriculum can improve students’ learning independence at SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The participants in this study include the Deputy Head of Curriculum, Islamic Religious Education teachers, and ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung. Preliminary findings from interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers and classroom observations indicate that teachers seldom utilize diverse teaching strategies or models, resulting in students mostly receiving information passively from teachers. In light of this issue, the researcher intends to investigate the challenges encountered during the learning process and identify potential solutions to promote more effective learning and greater student independence. ABSTRAKKurikulum Mandiri dirancang dengan penekanan kuat pada pemberdayaan siswa, yang terutama bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan mereka dalam belajar secara mandiri. Kurikulum ini memperkenalkan perspektif baru tentang proses pembelajaran, yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan otonomi siswa dalam belajar. Secara umum, pendidikan sekolah dimaksudkan untuk memelihara keterampilan siswa sehingga semua tujuan pendidikan dapat tercapai. Pembelajaran mandiri dianggap sebagai faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan akademis siswa. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana penerapan Kurikulum Mandiri dapat meningkatkan kemandirian belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini meliputi Wakil Kepala Kurikulum, guru Pendidikan Agama Islam, dan siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 4 Bandar Lampung. Temuan awal dari wawancara dengan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dan observasi kelas menunjukkan bahwa guru jarang menggunakan strategi atau model pengajaran yang beragam, sehingga sebagian besar siswa menerima informasi secara pasif dari guru. Mengingat masalah ini, peneliti bermaksud untuk menyelidiki tantangan yang dihadapi selama proses pembelajaran dan mengidentifikasi solusi potensial untuk meningkatkan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan kemandirian siswa yang lebih besar.
