Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of cashless payment policy on consumer behavior at Kesiangan Coffee, Batam City. With the increasing use of technology in various aspects of life, especially in the payment sector, it is important to understand how cashless policies affect consumer behavior. This study used a survey method with questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, and it included validity, reliability, and linear regression analysis. The results showed that the R-value was 0.128 and the R Square was 0.165, indicating that only 16.5% of the variation in the cashless payment policy could be explained by consumer behavior. The validity and reliability test results show that all research instruments are valid and reliable, but the influence of consumer behavior on this policy is still relatively low. This finding suggests that other more dominant factors, such as technological infrastructure, level of security, and consumer demographics, influence the acceptance of cashless payments. Therefore, it is recommended that relevant parties, such as financial institutions and the government, focus on education and infrastructure development to increase the acceptance of this payment system among the public. Further research is needed to explore other factors that play a role in influencing cashless payment policies, so that more effective strategies can be implemented to encourage the use of this technology in various sectors.

Abstract

This research discusses the effect of excellent service and effective communication on customer loyalty at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam, with increasing business competition in the food and beverage industry, customer loyalty is one of the keys to the success and sustainability of the company. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Excellent Service (X1) and Effective Communication (X2) on Customer Loyalty (Y) at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam, the data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression, by distributing questionnaires to 91 respondents who have made purchases at Excelso Vitka Point Tiban Batam with accidental sampling method, testing the research hypothesis using SPSS. The results of this study suggest that pasrial excellent service has a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty (sig <α), effective communication has a positive but insignificant effect on customer loyalty (sig>α), excellent service and effective communication have a positive and significant effect simultaneously (sig<α).

Abstract

Efisiensi operasional merupakan aspek penting dalam industri kafe dan restoran untuk mengoptimalkan biaya dan meningkatkan produktivitas. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi penerapan sistem manajemen inventori di Labers Coffee Pergudangan untuk mencapai efisiensi operasional. Dengan meningkatnya kebutuhan permintaan konsumen, sistem manajemen inventori yang efektif sangat penting untuk mengurangi biaya, mengoptimalkan penggunaan ruang, dan meminimalkan kerugian akibat kelebihan atau kekurangan stok. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif, mengumpulkan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis inventori. Penerapan sistem berbasis teknologi, seperti Moka Pos, manajemen inventori Just-in-time (JIT), dan Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), serta menggunakan metode FIFO dan FEFO untuk membantu memantau pergerakan stok secara real time. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis untuk mengevaluasi dampaknya terhadap waktu pemprosesan, akurasi stok, dan pengurangan biaya operasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan sistem manajemen inventori berdampak pada pengurangan pemborosan, peningkatan kecepatan layanan, dan penghematan biaya. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa manajemen inventori yang terstruktur tidak hanya menjaga keseimbangan stok tetapi juga meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan dan kelancaran operasional bisnis secara keseluruhan

Abstract

Kepariwisataan khususnya yang terkait dengan pembangunan Sumber Daya Manusia, diperoleh melalui peningkatan karakter SDMnya . Upaya pendidikan karakter dengan berbagai metode pembelajaran dianggap sebagai sarana untuk mencapai tujuan ini. Dengan pendekatan ini, pengembangan pariwisata diarahkan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi lokal dengan memperhitungkan faktor-faktor tersebut. . Salah satu upaya pendidikan karakter yang telah berjalan secara adat adalah keberadaan Bundo Kanduang sebuah organisasi sosial kemasyarakatan Sumatera Barat yang diilhami dari sosok yang disegani dalam kehidupan masyarakat Minangkabau Penguatan Peran Perempuan melalui kolaborasi dengan Bundo Kanduang dapat menjadi sarana untuk memberdayakan perempuan dalam mendukung pendidikan karakter. Ini menciptakan ruang bagi perempuan untuk berperan aktif dalam membentuk nilai-nilai positif dalam masyarakat. Pemilihan mitra yang tepat, seperti Bundo Kanduang, tidak hanya memberikan landasan budaya yang kuat untuk pendidikan karakter, tetapi juga memastikan bahwa program tersebut mengakar dalam konteks sosial dan budaya setempat.

Abstract

Isu food waste menjadi perhatian global karena dampaknya terhadap lingkungan, sosial, dan ekonomi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran Hotel Santika Batam dalam mendukung keberlanjutan pengelolaan food waste berdasarkan pendekatan Food Waste Hierarchy dan konsep Triple Bottom Line. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Hotel Santika Batam telah menerapkan strategi pengelolaan food waste secara berkelanjutan mulai dari tahap pencegahan, pemanfaatan kembali, hingga penanganan akhir. Langkah pencegahan dilakukan melalui perencanaan menu berbasis tingkat okupansi dan penerapan sistem First In First Out (FIFO). Makanan layak konsumsi dimanfaatkan untuk staf hotel, sementara sisa organik disalurkan ke peternakan lokal sebagai pakan ternak. Dari aspek ekonomi, strategi tersebut meningkatkan efisiensi bahan baku hingga 12% per tahun; dari sisi sosial, dilakukan pelatihan dan edukasi kepada staf serta tamu untuk meningkatkan kesadaran pengurangan limbah; sedangkan dari aspek lingkungan, sekitar 40% limbah organik berhasil dialihkan dari Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA). Meskipun terdapat kendala seperti fluktuasi okupansi dan perilaku tamu pada sistem buffet, Hotel Santika Batam tetap menunjukkan komitmen kuat terhadap praktik perhotelan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve administrative support facilities at Al-Azhar Private High School Batam through the delivery of printers as a form of support for teaching and learning activities and school administration management. The problem faced by the school is the limited document printing facilities which has an impact on delays in the administrative process and the preparation of academic reports. Through this activity, the PKM implementation team coordinates with the school to distribute assistance in the form of a multifunctional printer unit that can be used by teachers and students in supporting administrative and academic activities. The implementation method includes a needs survey, equipment handover, and short training on the use of printers effectively and efficiently. The results of the activity show that the addition of this facility has a positive impact on the smooth school administration process, increases the efficiency of teachers' working time, and makes it easier for students to print learning documents. With this activity, it is hoped that it can strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and high schools in an effort to improve the quality of education.

Abstract

This community service program was designed to develop entrepreneurial skills and financial literacy among high school students through practical training on beverage product creation and selling price calculation. The activity was conducted at Al-Azhar Private Senior High School Batam by lecturers and students of Batam Tourism Polytechnic. The training introduced participants to basic entrepreneurship concepts, production processes of contemporary beverages, cost management, and pricing strategies. Using a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, students were guided to produce beverage products and calculate their unit costs and profit margins. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ understanding of cost calculation, creativity in product development, and motivation toward entrepreneurship. The training not only enhanced practical skills but also inspired students to consider business opportunities in the food and beverage sector. This program serves as a sustainable model for vocational and entrepreneurial education in secondary schools

Abstract

Usaha kuliner mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, karna makanan dan minuman merupakan kebutuhan pokok yang harus dipenuhi. Salah satunya cafe yang banyak diminati dan dijadikan tempat untuk berkumpul, bekerja dan melakukan kegiatan lainnya. Bisnis ini juga harus mengahadapi tantangan untuk tetap bertahan terhadap perubahan tren yang mempengaruhi loyalitas konsumen kepada suatu brand. Kesiangan X Fat Boy Club Batam merupakan cafe yang berdiri dan sedang mengahadapi tantangan tersebut, dimana pada penelitian ini peneliti tertarik mengambil Customer Experience dan Service Quality sebagai variabel indenpedent dan Loyalitas Konsumen sebagai variabel dependent. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Customer Experience dan Service Quality terhadap loyalitas konsumen pada Kesiangan X Fat Boy Club Batam. Upaya strategis dalam meningkatkan loyalitas konsumen menjadi fokus utama, dengan turut mempertimbangkan pentingnya fasilitas pendukung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei yang dilengkapi data dari dokumentasi serta wawancara singkat di Kesiangan x Fat Boy Club Batam. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner kepada 100 pengunjung, yang ditetapkan menggunakan rumus Slovin dengan tingkat kesalahan 10%. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya diolah menggunakan IBM SPSS Statistics Version 19 dengan uji validitas, reliabilitas, uji asumsi klasik, serta analisis regresi linier berganda. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara parsial hanya service quality yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas konsumen, sedangkan customer experience tidak berpengaruh signifikan. Namun, secara simultan keduanya memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas konsumen di Kesiangan Café × Fat Boy Club.

Abstract

The increasing popularity of cafés as social spaces has intensified competition within the culinary industry. One crucial factor influencing consumers’ purchasing decisions is the variety of menu options offered by a business. This study aims to examine the effect of menu variation on purchasing decisions at Common Space Coffee & Bar Batam. The research applies a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. Data were obtained through an online questionnaire distributed via Google Form to 99 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of customers who had made at least two purchases within the last three months. The data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM 3.0 software. The results demonstrate that menu variation has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, indicated by a path coefficient value of 0.970, a t-statistic of 98.309, and a p-value of 0.000. These findings confirm that a greater diversity of menu offerings substantially enhances consumers’ purchasing decisions

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of the community in the development of tourism on Putri Island, located in Sambau Village, Nongsa District, Batam City. Community-based tourism development is key to creating a sustainable tourism destination and providing economic, social, and cultural impacts for the local community. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation of local residents, tourism managers, and local government officials. The research results show that communities play a crucial role in tourism development, both as key actors in tourism activities, providers of tourism services and facilities, and guardians of the local environment and culture. However, several obstacles remain, such as limited knowledge of tourism management, minimal promotion, and insufficient government support. Efforts made by communities to address these challenges include raising awareness of the importance of togetherness, tourism skills training, and strengthening collaboration between communities, the government, and the private sector. This study concludes that active community participation is a key factor in the successful development of Putri Island tourism. Therefore, ongoing support from various parties is needed to ensure Putri Island's development into a leading, competitive, and sustainable tourist destination.
