Abstract

This study aims to describe the guidance management and support system at GMIT 007 KABOLA Elementary School in an effort to support optimal student development. Guidance in elementary schools plays a crucial role in character formation, increasing learning motivation, and helping students overcome academic and socio-emotional difficulties. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that guidance management at GMIT 007 KABOLA Elementary School has been implemented in a structured manner through a guidance planning program, character and learning training activities, and ongoing evaluation. The mentoring system includes the involvement of the principal, class teachers, parents, and local community leaders. However, challenges remain in terms of limited specialized guidance experts and supporting facilities. Therefore, increased teacher training in guidance services and collaboration with external parties are needed to support the effectiveness of the guidance program. These findings have significant implications for the development of holistic and contextual guidance management at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategic role of classroom teachers in implementing guidance and counseling (GC) services in elementary schools, considering the limited availability of professional school counselors at the primary level. Classroom teachers have a dual role: as educators and as mentors who assist students in dealing with academic, social, and emotional challenges. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach through observations and interviews with classroom teachers, principals, and students to understand how GC services are practiced directly within the school environment. The findings show that classroom teachers actively carry out various types of GC services, such as orientation, information dissemination, individual counseling, and communication with students’ parents. However, most of these practices are still conducted informally and intuitively, lacking professional guidance or a systematic approach. Limited training, time constraints, and heavy workloads are the main obstacles to the optimal implementation of GC services. Despite these challenges, some teachers demonstrate initiative by using creative and adaptive approaches, such as storytelling, educational games, and routine psychological monitoring of students. Classroom teachers are considered to have great potential in building empathetic and meaningful relationships with students due to the high frequency of daily interaction. This reinforces their role as key facilitators in supporting the development of students' character and personality. Therefore, policies and training programs are needed to enhance the capacity of classroom teachers to carry out guidance functions professionally. In addition, synergy among schools, governments, and parents is essential to create an educational ecosystem that supports GC services as an integral part of basic education. With such support, classroom teachers can more effectively contribute to shaping students who are not only intellectually intelligent but also socially and emotionally mature.

Abstract

This study examines the uniqueness of the history and meaning of traditional houses in Moramam Village, Alor Barat Daya District, Alor Regency. The research method used is a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach, involving direct observation, in-depth interviews with traditional elders, and related literature studies. The results showed that the traditional house in Moramam Village has a distinctive architecture that reflects the cultural identity of the Alor community. The structure of the building, which consists of strong wooden pillars, symbolises the resilience of the community, while the conical roof reflects the harmonious relationship between humans, nature and ancestors. In addition, the traditional house also functions as a place for traditional ceremonies and community deliberations. Thus, the traditional house in Moramam Village is not just a place to live, but also a centre of social and cultural life that has been passed down from generation to generation. This research is expected to be a reference in the effort to preserve traditional houses as part of the national cultural wealth. In addition, this research also reveals various challenges in the preservation of traditional houses, including changes in people's lifestyles, the influence of modernisation, and lack of attention from related parties. Therefore, collaborative efforts between the community, government, and academics are needed to maintain the sustainability of traditional houses as a local cultural identity.

The methods used in this study are qualitative research, ethnographic approach, and data collection techniques are carried out in two ways, namely field observations and interviews with Mr Anselmus Yetimau with research results showing that the Takpalah Village Community has a symbolic meaning in the lego-lego dance movement, namely the circular movement in the lego-lego circle contains the meaning of togetherness, unity, and interconnected harmony. The movement of embracing the shoulders or waist in a lego-lego circle signifies unity in binding the bonds of brotherhood between villagers without regard to their status, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or economic status, but rather supporting each other, working together, and a high spirit of mutual cooperation. The stomping of feet in the Lego-Lego dance has a symbolic meaning that illustrates strength, decisiveness, and high spirits.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the symbolic meaning in the traditional clothing and accessories of the Abui tribe in Lembur Barat Village, Alor Regency. The research method used is a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The results show that the motifs in the woven fabrics of the Abui tribe reflect the relationship of the community with nature, ancestors, and highly-regarded traditional values. Certain colours in traditional clothing have symbolic meanings related to courage, purity, and wisdom. In addition, accessories such as headbands, beaded necklaces, and metal bracelets have a function not only as decoration, but also as spiritual protection and group identity. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that this research confirms that the traditional clothing and accessories of the Abui Tribe are not merely cultural products, but also a means of symbolic communication that reflects their belief system and social structure. By understanding this symbolic meaning, it is hoped that the cultural heritage of the Abui Tribe can continue to be preserved and appreciated as part of the cultural wealth of Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of Pancasila education for fourth-grade students, because teachers do not use varied learning media. The purpose of this study is to determine the Effect of Flash Card Media in Learning Pancasila Education "Rights and Obligations at Home and at School" on the Learning Outcomes of Fourth-grade Students of UPTD SD Negeri Pailelang. This study uses a pre-experimental method of quantitative research with a one-group approach (pretest posttest) with a sample size of 21 students. The sampling technique is saturated sampling. In this study, the data collection technique was through tests with a one-group pretest posttest research design. Furthermore, a prerequisite test for normality was carried out at 0.083. After that, a test was carried out with a hypothesis test using the Paired Sample t-test after which the data was analyzed using SPSS 22 and obtained the results of t-test 11,206 and t-table 1,725, meaning t-table > t-table, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. From these results, it can be concluded that using flash cards in Pancasila Education learning on "Rights and Obligations at Home and at School" at the Pailelang Elementary School Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) can improve student learning outcomes.
