Abstract

The community including the government, practitioners, and academics have not paid attention to the urgency of halal lifestyle in solving health problems such as malnutrition and stunting. This article aims to explain the strengthening of community literacy about halal lifestyle behavior to prevent stunting. Activities began August - October 2023 in Bandar Sono Village, Nibung Hangus District, Batu Bara Regency. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGDs), and then education and mentoring were carried out. Data from FGDs were analyzed using ATLAS.Ti23. The data obtained was continued by conducting education and mentoring. The results of data processing are then displayed in tables and figures. The findings show that halal lifestyle behavior has not been understood by the community. Ethical and social moral principles include 5 aspects of halal life style behavior that can be applied by humans in living their daily lives so as to provide a strong impetus to maintain nutritional balance, avoid harmful behavior, and provide better care for children. This means that hifz ad din (protecting religion), as part of halal life style behaviors, is not a direct method of preventing stunting, however, it creates a strong foundation for healthy behaviors and careful care of children, which in turn can contribute to stunting prevention. A person's knowledge will become broad if he learns a lot and gets information through school or information provided through counseling, lectures, reading. The local government needs to continuously provide assistance to families prone to stunting by involving religious leaders so that the community has a strong foundation for implementing halal lifestyle behavior.

Abstract

Abstract

Background the Adolescent Care Health Service Program (PKPR) plays a crucial role in improving adolescent reproductive health. Adolescents experience various physical, psychological, and social changes that influence their knowledge and behavior regarding reproductive health. In Indonesia, adolescent reproductive health needs serious attention because 18.55% of adolescents marry at a young age (16-18 years), with 2.39% marrying before age 16. Additionally, 43.55% of young women give birth before age 21. However, the implementation of the PKPR program still faces multiple challenges that hinder its optimal impact. Methods This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, collecting data through direct observation and in-depth interviews with program implementers and adolescent beneficiaries in the working area of Sigambal Public Health Center. Results The PKPR program at Sigambal Health Center faces several obstacles, including low adolescent participation (17.52%), infrequent and ineffective counseling sessions, and limited outreach and socialization. Out-of-school adolescents are not reached effectively, and the role of peer counselors has not been strengthened. Moreover, adolescents' low awareness of the importance of reproductive health services limits the program’s effectiveness. Conclusions While the PKPR program has shown a positive impact on some adolescents, its overall effectiveness remains limited. Expanding coverage, increasing activity frequency, strengthening peer counselor involvement, and developing more innovative outreach strategies are essential to ensure broader and more sustainable adolescent engagement.

Abstract

The production process in palm oil mills is inseparable from potential hazards in the workplace such as the FFB Receiving Station area (Scales, Sorting/Loading ramp), then the Boiling Station (Sterilizer), the Grinding Station (Threshing/Theresser/autofeeder), the Felt/Pumping Station (Screw Press, Slamming Station, Clarification Station, CPO Storage Tank (Storange Tank), Boiler Station and Engine Room Station (Power House), Demint Plant Station. Efforts that can be made are by conducting risk management through the identification of potential occupational safety and health hazards, using the HIRARC method. The goal of HIRARC is to recognize potential hazards and various operational problems in each process. Based on the risk assessment, there are four categories of risk levels identified, namely risk levels, namely Low Risk, Modarate Risk, High Risk, and Extreme Risk. The risk rating provides a level for each risk category, which results in the most dangerous risk, namely the Stockpile Tank Station and Engine Room get a level of 15 High Risk, then at the Boiling, Slamming, Clarification, Steam Boiler Station get a level of 12 High Risk. Risk Control that must be carried out on potential hazards at PT. X is Required to Wear Complete PPE that has been given (gloves, anti-slip shoes, mask, ear plug/ear, helmet, safety glasses), Obey signs, Work according to SOPs and Work instructions, clean the workplace area, monitor to work according to procedures, Carry out periodic Maintanetance, and the author hopes that at PT. X establishes new policies and regulations for workers by providing penalties such as issuing first warning letters or fines for workers who do not comply with SOPs and do not wear PPE. Instead, appreciation is given to workers who comply with SOPs and use PPE properly and correctly.

Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the most prevalent health problems in Indonesia, especially in areas with limited access to clean water and adequate sanitation facilities. In addition, diarrhea is one of the leading causes of death in the world, especially in children under 5 years of age, with approximately 2.2 million deaths each year. The purpose of this study was to increase community knowledge about diarrhea in Bagan Dalam Village, Tanjung Tiram Sub-District, Batu Bara Regency to prevent diarrhea. The research method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental approach designed in the form of one-group pre-test and post-test. Sampling using the accidental sampling formula obtained 30 samples in this study. This research instrument uses a questionnaire with data analysis techniques using paired simple t-test. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test tests, there was no significant difference in knowledge between before and after counseling, with an average value of 0.833. This is because the education was only conducted once, so the impact on changes in the level of knowledge of the community who became the research sample was not large.
