Abstract

Abstract

The digital transformation of occupational health has led to various innovations that enhance efficiency, safety, and medical service quality. One notable breakthrough is ProHealth (Pertamina Robotic Health), developed by the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) team at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Region Sumbagut. This study examines the clinical impact and efficiency of using ProHealth as a daily health monitoring system (Daily Check Up/DCU) to strengthen the Fit To Work program in high-risk environments. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, field observations, and document reviews involving medical staff and workers who routinely use the system. Findings reveal that ProHealthreduced average health check durations from 4 minutes 11 seconds to 1 minute 13 seconds per worker, eliminated overtime costs for medical teams, and minimized COVID-19 transmission risks through its fully automated, contactless operation. The system targets seven high-risk groups—security personnel, fuel truck drivers (AMT), heavy equipment operators, height workers, general drivers, confined space workers, and divers who face substantial occupational hazards. ProHealth enables real-time monitoring of physical conditions, increases readiness, and fosters a technology-driven safety culture. Overall, this innovation improves time and cost efficiency while strengthening the company’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) framework through sustainable digital transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explain the government's communication strategy in the prevention and decline in the prevalence of stunting in North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research is a descriptive qualitative study used to observe the natural conditions of the prevalence of stunting in North Labuhanbatu. This research informant is determined through purposive techniques. This study collects data through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observations, and documentation. This research data refers to primary and secondary concepts, primary data sourced from interviews and observations, while secondary data sourced from relevant journal articles and books. This research data was analyzed through the Miles & Huberman scheme which included reduction, presentation, and data conclusions. The validity of this research data is tested through the degree of trust (credibility), transfer (transferability), dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study indicate that the North Labuhanbatu government implemented a holistic and value-based communication strategy in stunting prevention efforts, by adopting the principles of Islamic communication such as Qaulan Sadidan, Qaulan Layyina, and Qaula Baligha to increase public awareness and participation. This strategy involves synergy between various parties, including local governments, health institutions, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, with a focus on balanced nutrition education, health education, and successful narratives. Facing challenges such as lack of community understanding, coordination between weak agencies, low literacy, and the lack of participation of community leaders, this strategy emphasizes the importance of integration of stunting prevention programs with other development initiatives, optimization of communication methods, and community involvement in formulating solutions. This comprehensive and integrated approach aims to create a continuous positive impact in reducing the prevalence of stunting and building a healthier future for the people of North Labuhanbatu.

Abstract

Used cooking oil is a household waste that is often disposed of carelessly, causing negative impacts on health and the environment. The high volume of used cooking oil waste in Bandar Baru Village, Sibolangit District, and the lack of public awareness about the dangers of reusing oil and improper waste disposal, prompted the initiative to utilize this waste into a marketable product. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge about the impact of used cooking oil, provide skills in making aromatherapy candles from used cooking oil, and encourage creative business potential. The method used is socialization and direct training for mothers in Bandar Baru Village. The results of the activity show an increase in public awareness and skills in processing used cooking oil into aromatherapy candles, as well as the potential of this product as an additional source of income and a solution to environmental pollution.

Abstract

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is rarely used, or even never used, so it looks untouched. This indicates that workers have limited knowledge about the importance of reducing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is equipment used by workers to protect their bodies from accidents or illnesses caused by work in the work environment. Many employes believe it's unnecessary to wear PPE; this is especially true for employes who wear standard clothing and feel comfortable at work. This research is a quantitative study using a survey (observational) method and a cross-sectional (analytical) approach. This research was conducted at a concrete company in one of Indonesia's regions, with a total sample size of 29 samples. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was found that safety culture has a positive and significant influence on PPE usage compliance. This means that the higher the safety culture, the higher the PPE usage compliance. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that if you want to increase PPE usage compliance, safety culture also needs to be improved.

Abstract

Compliance in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is an important element in the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) system. “However, in reality, the level of worker compliance in the field is still relatively low, especially in the area of toll road management and maintenance. This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the compliance of PT Jasamarga Kualanamu Tol field workers in the use of PPE during work. The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional analytical observational design. A total of 30 field workers were selected as respondents using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, direct observation, and interviews, then analyzed using the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge (p = 0.025) and attitude (p = 0.035) with compliance in the use of PPE. In contrast, the variables of PPE availability (p = 0.098) and supervision (p = 0.113) did not have a significant relationship with the level of worker compliance. Worker knowledge and attitudes play an important role in encouraging compliance in the use of PPE, while the availability and supervision factors have not been proven to have a significant influence. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase ongoing socialization and training of K3, strengthen safety culture in the work environment, and implementation of more effective monitoring mechanisms to foster safe work behavior among field workers.
