Abstract

Teenagers widely use Instagram to express themselves, including self-disclosure. This study aims to analyze the role of Instagram in encouraging students' self-disclosure and the factors that influence it. Referring to the theory of intensity of social media use, as well as the five dimensions of self-disclosure, this study employed a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design, involving 111 students from class XI at SMAN 4 Palangka Raya. Quantitative results revealed a positive correlation between Instagram usage intensity and self-disclosure (r = 0.476), accounting for 22.6% of the variance. Qualitatively, four main factors were found: purpose of use, type of content, trust in followers, and perception of privacy. The findings confirm that Instagram can be a positive tool for self-disclosure when used with an emphasis on ethical and privacy awareness. Educators and parents are expected to play an active role in students' digital literacy. Keywords: role, instagram media, self-disclosure, students

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using visual media in improving the learning comprehension of students with special needs classified as slow learners in elementary schools. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were obtained from various scientific literature sources, including journals, books, and articles relevant to the research topic. The data analysis technique was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the use of visual media such as pictures, videos, diagrams, and concrete teaching aids can help slow learner students understand learning materials more easily and concretely. In addition, visual media can also improve students’ concentration, learning motivation, active participation, and assist them in understanding abstract concepts. However, the effectiveness of visual media is influenced by teachers’ ability to select and apply appropriate media according to the characteristics of students. Therefore, visual media can be considered an effective and adaptive learning strategy for slow learner students in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and social media has reshaped how Generation Z constructs identity, including religious identity. During emerging adulthood, individuals often face social pressure, future uncertainty, and intensive identity exploration, which may trigger a quarter-life crisis characterized by anxiety, confusion, and emotional instability. In this condition, some individuals engage in spiritual exploration and may consider religious conversion as a way to seek meaning, certainty, and psychological stability. This study aimed to examine the relationship between quarter-life crisis and religious conversion intention among Generation Z social media users, as well as the moderating role of religiosity in this relationship. A quantitative survey design was employed using purposive sampling. The participants consisted of social media users aged 18–29 years. Data were analyzed using regression and moderation analysis. The findings indicated that quarter-life crisis did not have a significant direct effect on religious conversion intention. However, religiosity had a positive and significant effect and moderated the relationship between quarter-life crisis and conversion intention. Specifically, religiosity weakened the association between psychological crisis and the tendency to consider religious conversion, suggesting its role as a protective factor in maintaining religious identity stability under psychological pressure. These findings imply that religious commitment may help Generation Z manage identity uncertainty and emotional instability in the digital era. This study contributes to the literature on emerging adulthood, religious identity, and social media by highlighting the psychological and spiritual mechanisms underlying religious conversion intention. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of strengthening religious guidance, digital literacy, and psychosocial support for young adults experiencing identity-related crises.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly influenced children's daily activities, including the increasing intensity of playing online games among elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the intensity of online gaming and its relationship with emotional regulation among elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 17 elementary school students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument used a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 10 items for each variable. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by calculating the mean scores and percentages. The results show that the average score of online gaming intensity among students is 26.6 or 66.5% of the maximum score, which falls into the high category. Meanwhile, the students’ emotional regulation ability is in the moderate category with an average score of 25.3 or 63.3%. These findings indicate a tendency that higher intensity of online gaming is associated with lower emotional regulation ability among students. Therefore, parental and teacher supervision is necessary to regulate children's gaming activities in order to support their emotional development.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was conducted in response to the increasing prevalence of toxic culture among school adolescents, characterized by the use of harsh language, mocking, body shaming, social exclusion, and the spread of gossip through social media. These conditions have an impact on students’ mental health and social relationships within the school environment. This study aims to analyze the forms of negative social interaction culture (toxic culture) among students, including bullying behavior, social discrimination, aggressive communication, and exclusion in social relationships, as well as to examine the role of intimate friendship in reducing such behavior at SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a field research design. The research subjects consisted of students from classes XI (3), XI (4), and an Islamic Religious Education teacher. Data were collected through observation, semi structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that toxic culture among students appeared in the form of harsh language, mocking, body shaming, social media insinuations, and exclusion within friendship groups. The study also found that intimate friendship plays a role in reducing such behavior through mutual trust, empathy, openness, and emotional support among peers, thereby creating more positive and harmonious social relationships within the school environment. Therefore, intimate friendship can serve as a preventive means in overcoming toxic culture and supporting the creation of a more comfortable and harmonious school environment.
