Abstract

Thesis as one of the requirements to obtain a bachelor degree, ideally it can be completed in one semester, but many students finish the thesis more than the allocated time. This condition is caused by many factors including gender differences, male and female students have many differences especially in the allocation of time to finish a thesis. This research aimed to find out the factors that influence the time needed to finish a thesis and the classification of these factors based on their gender. The factors observed were GPA, gender and competence of the supervisor, types of research used, source of the data  and technique of the data collection. The statistical analysis used was the CHAID method. The result of this study showed that out of 387 male students who have graduated in period I to VI, it was found that the factors which influence them to finish their thesis were GPA. While for female students, out of 1150 data, three factors that influence them were major, sources of data and expertise areas of the main supervisors. Moreover, three characteristics of students who finish thesis longer than 6 months were male students with a GPA less than 3,34, female students from Islamic Education/English Department/Math Department  with the source primary/ secondary data or others, and female students from guidance and couceling department by the psychologist’s/ others as main supervisor.Keywords: thesis, allocated time to finish thesis,  CHAID method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik. This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental research type. The population in this study is all seventh-grade students of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik, consisting of 2 classes with a total of 34 students. Class VII.1 was obtained as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. In this regard, the research was conducted on two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. In the experimental class, the teaching and learning process was carried out by implementing Project Based Learning (PjBL), whereas in the control class, the teaching and learning process was carried out using conventional learning. The instrument used in this study was a mathematics learning outcomes test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (t-test). The calculated t-test result was 1.867 with a table t-value of 1.693, so because the calculated t is greater than the table t, H0 is rejected. It is concluded that there is an effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VII of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas tantangan yang dihadapi guru dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka pada pembelajaran matematika, khususnya dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Kendala yang dihadapi termasuk kurangnya pemahaman terhadap kurikulum, keterbatasan sumber belajar, dan minimnya sarana dan prasarana. Selain itu, guru juga mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif dan sesuai dengan konsep Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah tersebut dan upaya yang dilakukan oleh guru matematika kelas X di SMKN 2 Bukittinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan instrumen utama berupa peneliti dan pedoman wawancara. Data dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru mengalami kesulitan dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran, memilih metode pengajaran, dan menentukan asesmen yang sesuai dengan konsep Kurikulum Merdeka. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, guru mengikuti pertemuan KKG, berkolaborasi dengan rekan, serta mengikuti pelatihan dan mencari informasi terkait implementasi kurikulum.

Abstract

Students' low critical thinking skills and motivation to learn mathematics are still problems frequently encountered in learning, mainly due to the teacher-centered learning process. One alternative that can be used to overcome this problem is the application of the Cooperative Script learning model. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Cooperative Script learning model on students' critical thinking skills and motivation to learn mathematics. This study used a pre-experimental method with a static group comparison design. The study population was 137 students spread across five classes, with two classes selected through a simple random sampling technique. One class was designated as the experimental class receiving Cooperative Script learning, while the other class was designated as the control class receiving conventional learning. Data were collected using a critical thinking ability test and a mathematics learning motivation questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using statistical tests with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the Cooperative Script learning model had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills and motivation to learn mathematics. Students learning through the Cooperative Script model showed better critical thinking skills and learning motivation than students learning with conventional learning. Thus, the Cooperative Script model can be an effective learning alternative to improve the quality of mathematics learning. | (Versi en lama): enelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Cooperative Script terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script terhadap motivasi belajar matematika siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra-eksperimen, dengan rancangan the static group comparison desain. Dari total populasi 5 kelas yang berjumlah 137 orang diambil sampel 2 kelas dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Sampel yang diperoleh satu kelas dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas dijadikan sebagai kelas kontrol. Pada kelas ekperimen dilaksanakan model pembelajaran Cooperative Script sedangkan pada kelas kontrol dilaksanakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan angket motivasi belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan pada tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa adalah uji w dan angket motivasi belajar matematika siswa adalah uji t. dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Cooperative Script memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan berdasarkan hasil analisis data angket motivasi belajar matematika siswa dihitung menggunakan uji t dengan nilai thitung = 4,9027 dan ttabel = 2,006, maka thitung > ttabel pada taraf nyata α = 0,05 yang berarti tolak H0 dan terima H1, sedangkan menggunakan Sofware SPSS diperoleh sig. 0,002 <taraf nyata α = 0,05. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Cooperative Script memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap motivasi belajar matematika siswa.
