Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management and administration of multicultural education at the Nurul Muhibbin Islamic Boarding School in dealing with the cultural diversity of santri. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, this study was conducted at the Nurul Muhibbin Islamic Boarding School, East Kalimantan, in November 2024. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ustadz (teachers), teachers, boarding school leaders, and santri (students), as well as direct observation and documentation analysis. The results showed that the understanding of multiculturalism among ustadz and santri varied, with ustadz emphasizing the importance of tolerance and unity among santri to prevent cultural conflict. In contrast, santri demonstrated adaptability through using Indonesian as a connecting language and learning the language and dialect of their respective regions. Implementing multiculturalism in Islamic boarding schools takes place naturally through integrating religious values as a unifying element and using Arabic and Indonesian as a means of communication. Despite facing challenges such as limited facilities and differences in the character of santri (Islamic boarding school students), Islamic boarding schools can create an inclusive and harmonious environment through a daily approach based on Islamic values. The conclusion of this study confirms that Nurul Muhibbin Islamic Boarding School manages cultural diversity without a formal program specifically for multicultural education. This Islamic boarding school is a real model of how multiculturalism can be effectively applied in daily life, ultimately improving social adaptation, language skills, and attitudes of tolerance among santri.

Abstract

Purpose – This research is aimed at finding out if AI-optimized YouTube videos can improve the students ' Islamic religious Education at the SMKN. Although digital tools in education are becoming more popular, It has not been tested  in religious and labor contexts. This gap is addressed by this work, where we assess AI's potential to enhance performance and engagement by focusing on a specialized educational context. The novelty of this research lies in being among the first to apply AI-driven video optimization specifically within Islamic religious and vocational education, an area rarely explored in prior studies. Design/methods/approach – A quasi-experimental design was employed, comparing an experimental group (n=50) exposed to AI-optimized videos with a control group (n=50) receiving traditional instruction. The intervention lasted eight weeks, using videos enhanced with automated subtitles, personalized pacing, and interactive quizzes. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests (30-item MCQs) and a 5-point Likert scale engagement survey. Statistical analysis included paired and independent t-tests to measure score differences and effect sizes. Findings – The AI group significantly outperformed the control group, with a 10.3-point increase in post-test scores (p < 0.001) and a large effect size (d = 1.43). Engagement metrics showed high approval (mean = 4.3/5), particularly for content clarity and interactivity. However, 28% of students reported technical difficulties, and 19% preferred traditional methods. Research implications/limitations – While results demonstrate AI's efficacy, the single-school sampling limits generalizability. Infrastructure challenges (reported by 42% of participants) highlight implementation barriers. Future studies should expand to diverse institutions and assess long-term retention. Originality/value – This study pioneers the integration of AI-optimized videos in Islamic vocational education, offering empirical evidence for blended learning models. It contributes to the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by validating AI's role in religious pedagogy. Practical recommendations include teacher training and hybrid approaches to balance innovation with tradition.

Abstract

Background: Potensi peningkatan kualitas makanan yang halal dan kesejahteraan masyarakat dapat dilakukan melalui optimalisasi pelatihan juru sembelih halal. Optimalisasi pelatihan juru sembelih halal dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk daging halal. Juru sembelih halal yang kompeten akan dapat menyembelih hewan dengan cara yang sesuai dengan syariat Islam, sehingga produk daging yang dihasilkan akan lebih higienis dan sehat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas produk daging halal dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat local di Kecamatan Long Ikis. Metode: Metode pelatihan yang digunakan mencakup aspek kehalalan, etika, dan teknis pemotongan hewan. Peserta pelatihan dilibatkan dalam praktek langsung guna mengoptimalkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mereka. Hasil: Masyarakat setempat mengalami dampak positif, di mana pelatihan ini berkontribusi pada peningkatan keterampilan dan kesejahteraan ekonomi mereka. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk membagikan pengalaman dan pembelajaran yang berharga bagi para praktisi, peneliti, dan pemangku kepentingan dalam upaya meningkatkan keberlanjutan industri daging halal dan kesejahteraan masyarakat lokal. Kesimpulan: Pendekatan ini mampu memberikan kontribusi positif bagi masyarakat Kecamatan Long Ikis.

Abstract

The role of the madrasah principal in improving teacher professionalism at MA Al Ihsan Tanah Grogot has been well implemented. This study aims to examine how the madrasah principal carries out and applies strategies to enhance teacher professionalism in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal three key aspects: (1) the role of the madrasah principal in improving teacher professionalism, (2) supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the principal’s efforts, and (3) solutions provided by the principal to overcome challenges in professional development. The results indicate that the principal has effectively fulfilled their duties in accordance with operational standards, enabling them to address obstacles and provide appropriate solutions to foster professional teachers. The study suggests strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, optimizing internal resources, and implementing school-based training programs as sustainable efforts to enhance teacher professionalism. Future research is encouraged to explore the long-term impact of these strategies on teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

As one of the efforts to improve the quality of teaching in education, the government is trying to produce various necessary policies. This will be important because until now there is still a gap between reality and expectations of learning quality. Currently, the quality of our learning is not in line with what is expected as the presence of an independent curriculum is expected to strengthen learning transformation efforts. The implementation of the curriculum has been repeatedly carried out improvements and changes as an effort to improve the previous curriculum. This research explains and provides an overview of the implementation of the independent curriculum in supporting creative freedom and learning. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the curriculum in schools in supporting creative freedom and learning has been implemented optimally and is ongoing, although in its implementation there are still many shortcomings and obstacles. To succeed in implementing an independent curriculum, joint efforts and synergy are needed. The Ministry of Religious Affairs is expected to contribute positively to the implementation of the independent curriculum starting in 2023.

Abstract

Penyelengaraan pariwisata berdasarkan perinsip syariah, destinasi wisata wajib untuk mewujudkan beberapa aspek seperti, kemaslahatan umum,menjaga keamanan, memjaga lingkungan dan menghormati nilai-nilai da budaya yang ada pada destinasi wisata tersebut. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan destinasi syariah sesuai fatwa dsn no.108 Dsn-Mui/X/2016. Diharapkan kerangka dan penerapan ini bisa menjadi referensi dalam berkembangnya dunia kepariwisataan syariah sehingga sasaran dan target yang diinginkan dapat terimplementasi. Penulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulannya yang digunakan yaitu wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis dijadikan narasi menggunakan reduksi data kemudian penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan untuk mengetahaui apakah objek sudah menerapkan sesuai fatwa dsn no.108 Dsn-Mui/X/2016. Untuk meningkatkan dan memberi banyak minat wisatawan berkunjung.

Abstract

Improving the quality of learning in madrasah requires a systematic approach based on evaluation and reflection. This study aims to analyze the utilization of evaluation and reflection results in improving learning quality at MA Al-Ihsan Tanah Grogot, focusing on the implementation mechanism, the role of school leadership, and its impact on pedagogical practices. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 10 teachers and the madrasah head, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results showed a significant transformation in learning practices, characterized by an increase in the use of digital media from 20% to 65% and a decrease in the pure lecture method from 70% to 30%, which resulted in a 12% increase in the Madrasah Exam average score. Key findings revealed the effectiveness of the cyclic evaluation-reflection model supported by the instructional leadership of the madrasah head, despite the resource constraints. The study concludes that the integration of data-driven evaluation, collaborative reflection and management support can create sustainable learning improvements in a madrasah environment. The implications of this study offer an operational model that can be adapted by other madrasahs with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study explores the effective Re-STEAM (Religion, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) interdisciplinary approach in teaching Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SDIT Al-Khawarizmi and SDN 031 Tanah Grogot, Indonesia. The research addresses the need to revitalize PAI learning by integrating it with other disciplines, particularly science and technology. Using qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach and Multi-Site Design, the study investigates the impact of Re-STEAM on student learning outcomes. Results indicate that this approach significantly enhances students' learning motivation, critical thinking skills, and understanding of PAI materials. Integrating science and faith through Re-STEAM helps students apply Islamic values daily and prepares them for 21st-century challenges. Moreover, it demonstrates that modern science complements religious teachings, fostering a balanced development of intellectual, emotional, and spiritual intelligence. The findings suggest that the Re-STEAM approach effectively combines academic competence with strengthened faith and character, aligning with the core principles of Islamic education.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand in depth the phenomenon of identity reinterpretation, exploring how bureaucracy influences the definition of the situation of students and teachers, the role and effects of elite groups in determining the direction of Islamic education, and how this influences social interactions in Islamic societies. The research also discusses the changes and improvements needed to create a more inclusive and equitable Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative method. This method was chosen because this research aims to understand the phenomenon of identity reinterpretation in Islamic education in depth. This research uses in-depth interview techniques to collect data. Interviews were conducted with various informants: teachers, students, and Islamic education officials. This research explores how bureaucracy in the Islamic education system influences the definition of the situation of students and teachers, especially in the context of the emergence of discrimination or inequality. In addition, this research can examine the role and impact of elite groups in determining the direction of Islamic education and how this influences social interactions in Islamic societies. This research will discuss changes and improvements that may be needed to create more inclusive and equitable Islamic education.
