Abstract

Objective. Basketball is a multifaceted game that relies on various physical components to score points by shooting the ball through the hoop. Different types of shots exist, including the three-point shot. Optimal shooting requires support from physical elements such as flexibility and arm strength. Therefore, this study seeks to establish the relationship between flexibility, arm strength, and three-point shooting performance in basketball. Materials and methods. The research method employed in this study is correlation research. A purposive random sampling technique was used to select 32 athletes for the sample. Data collection took place in a single meeting. The instruments utilized in this research included the push and pull dynamometer, goniometer, and three-point test. Following data collection, a correlation test data analysis will determine the relationship between one or more variables and other variables. Results. The results of the correlation test indicate a significant relationship between flexibility, arm strength, and three-point shooting accuracy. The test showed a statistically significant correlation with a p-value of 0.00, which is less than the standard threshold of 0.05. Conclusion. The research concludes that the success of three-point shots in basketball is influenced by physical components such as flexibility and arm strength. Therefore, improving these components can lead to better shooting results.

Abstract

Keseimbangan dan koordinasi merupakan komponen penting dalam perkembangan motorik anak, yang berperan signifikan dalam berbagai aktivitas fisik sehari-hari. Penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana kemampuan keseimbangan dan koordinasi pada siswa kelas 3 dan 4 Sekolah Dasar (SD) Khadijah Wonokromo Surabaya dipengaruhi oleh faktor usia dan perkembangan fisik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemampuan keseimbangan dan koordinasi (mata dan tangan) pada siswa kelas 3 dan 4 SD Khadijah Wonokromo Surabaya. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, penelitian ini melibatkan 32 siswa laki-laki berusia 9-11 tahun sebagai sampel yang dipilih melalui cluster sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes keseimbangan dengan balok titian dan one-leg stand, serta tes koordinasi melalui kegiatan menendang dan melempar bola. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas 4 memiliki kemampuan keseimbangan dan koordinasi yang lebih baik dibandingkan siswa kelas 3, yang diduga dipengaruhi oleh faktor fisik, indera penglihatan, fokus, serta tingkat kematangan mental. Penelitian ini menyarankan studi lanjutan terkait perbedaan kemampuan antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, serta pentingnya perhatian pendidik terhadap perkembangan anak dalam melatih keseimbangan dan koordinasi.

Abstract

Background: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of reducing weight, BMI and fat with fun exercise through circuit training. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach method. This research was conducted at Surabaya State University on March 15 2024 - April 5 2024. 20 students with an average age of 18 - 20 years participated in this research, they were divided into 2 groups, namely 10 students in the circuit training treatment group and 10 students in the circuit training treatment group. 30 minute walking treatment. Training is carried out within 3 weeks carried out 4 times a week. They carry out physical activity in the form of aerobic exercise which consists of exercise stations, namely between 8-16 exercise stations. The exercise is done by moving from post one to post two until the last post. Body composition was carried out using the Tanita scale measuring instrument version BC-545N. The urgency of this research was carried out because there are many teenagers who are obese in Indonesia. Results: The results of this research were that circuit training, which was carried out 4 times a week, and carried out for 3 weeks, was successful in reducing weight, BMI, and FAT. Conclusions: In conclusion, circuit training and walking for 30 minutes has an effect on reducing body weight, BMI and FAT

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of Plyometric Barrier Hops, Front Cone Hops, Jump to Box, and Depth Jumps training on increasing the power, strength and speed of extracurricular students at SMA Muhammadiyah 10 Surabaya. This research is experimental research and the instruments in this research use Jump MD to measure power, Leg Dynamometer to measure strength, and 30 meter Sprint to measure speed. The results of this research show that plyometric training of barrier hops, front cone hops, jump to box, and depth jump can significantly increase power, strength, and speed due to sig. < 0.05. This data has significant potential for practitioners in identifying potential weaknesses and improving training methods for athletes who rely heavily on the initiation elements of power, strength, and speed.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the effect of physical activity on body composition and weight loss in healthy adolescents. Participants were divided into two groups: the Treatment group, who performed moderate physical activity at 75-85% intensity, and the control group, who performed physical activity at low intensity for 30 minutes of exercise per day. This study used descriptive tests to collect data and used statistical methods such as the Wilcoxon test to analyze the pre-test and post-test differences between the groups. The results showed a significant difference in body composition before and after the physical activity program. Body weight (BW), Body Mass Index (BMI), Body Fat Precentage (BFP), Fat Mass (FM), and Free Fat Mass (FFM) were significantly affected by the physical activity program. The increase in body weight was due to the adaptation of the muscular system and an effective hydrostatic hypertrophy mechanism. The study also found that the increase in muscle mass led to an increase in body weight and lean body mass index. This was due to the adaptation of the muscular system and the effect of the hydrostatic hypertrophy mechanism. This study concluded that physical activity can affect body metabolic rate (BMI) in adolescents, this study also found that regular physical activity can reduce the risk of obesity, such as type 2 diabetes and type 1 diabetes. These findings suggest that physical activity can be beneficial for maintaining a healthy body composition and weight

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Increased body weight or obesity at the adolescent level is very worrying, this phenomenon also has a significant prevalence in the causes of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, asthma and other diseases. Obesity can occur due to high intake of foods containing fat and sugar which, if not burned or managed by the body, will cause health problems. This study aims to determine the effect of physical activity in the form of 30 minutes of jogging on reducing body composition and glucose. A total of 25 students with an average age of 18-20 years participated in this research. They will do 30 minutes of jogging exercise 4 times a week for 3 weeks. Descriptive tests, normality and difference tests using SPSS 16 were used to explain the research results. The results of this research are p < 0.05, then the data Body Mass Index (IMT), Body Fat, Visceral Fat, Bone Mass, Body Muscle, Physical Rating, Basal Metabolic Rate, and Body Water experienced changes before and after 3 weeks of exercise. These changes show that jogging is good for health. The conclusion of this research is that jogging for 12 times has a significant impact on several components of body composition. Lack of physical activity causes an increase in body composition indicators which has a serious impact on a person's physical health and fitness, jogging is one of the recommended alternatives for keeping the body healthy and fit.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of a combination of bunny hop (ladder drill) and squat jump (plyometric) exercises in increasing leg muscle power. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The population of this study were badminton extracurricular students at SMP Negeri 1 Jogoroto, and a purposive sampling technique was used to determine the research subjects and 12 students were obtained. The research subjects were given a combination treatment of bunny hop and squat jump exercises which were carried out three days a week for six weeks. The test instrument used is jump MD, then the result of the jump height is used to calculate the power formula. The instrument is used during the pretest and posttest. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the paired sample t-test with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS applications. The results showed that the average value of leg muscle power during the pretest was 341.7 watts, while the posttest was 447.05 watts. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (p>0.05) and the paired sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.00 (p<0.05) so the results of the study showed that the treatment given in this study could significantly increase muscle power limbs. The conclusion is that the combination of bunny hop and squat jump exercises can increase leg muscle power.

Abstract

Petanque adalah olahraga tradisional asal Prancis yang berarti "kaki rapat." Tujuan olahraga ini adalah melempar bola besi sedekat mungkin ke bola kayu (jack), dengan posisi kaki berada dalam lingkaran. Permainan ini menggunakan dua jenis lemparan, yaitu pointing dan shooting, serta menuntut akurasi dan konsentrasi tinggi. Namun, durasi permainan yang cukup lama dapat menyebabkan penurunan konsentrasi, yang berdampak pada hasil permainan. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan program latihan tim petanque Jawa Timur untuk mencapai hasil pembinaan maksimal. Analisis SWOT digunakan untuk mengevaluasi kekuatan, kelemahan, peluang, dan ancaman tim. Kekuatan tim meliputi program latihan yang baik, sarana prasarana yang memadai, komposisi pemain, pengalaman, serta dukungan tim. Kelemahan yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan sarana, variasi latihan, anggaran, minimnya turnamen untuk pengalaman, serta kondisi mental atlet. Ancaman bagi tim termasuk persaingan dari tim lain, potensi match fixing, kondisi fisik, dan adaptasi lapangan. Analisis ini penting untuk mengidentifikasi area yang perlu diperbaiki dan memaksimalkan potensi tim petanque Jawa Timur.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ladder drill training on the speed and agility of handball athletes. This research method uses a type of quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method with a One Control Pretest-Posttest design. In this study there was a total sample of 20 handball athletes and was divided into 2 groups, 1. Experimental group, 2. Control group. The instruments in this study used the 30 meter Sprint Test and the Illinois Agility Test. Normality testing using the Shapiro-Wilk test, homogeneity testing using Levene-Test and for data analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test test. The results of this study indicate that handball athletes who do training using ladder drill tools experience increased speed and agility. This study concludes that there is a significant effect of ladder drill training on the speed and agility of handball athletes. So, this ladder drill training method can be recommended to handball coaches as a new way to increase the speed and agility of athletes.

Abstract

In basketball, the use of statistics seems to be a necessity. The world basketball federation (FIBA) provides statistics on matches around the world that can be accessed through their official website. Although match statistics have a very important role, there are still many coaches, players and clubs in Indonesia who do not fully understand the importance of match statistics in determining the effectiveness of the basketball game.This study examines the effectiveness of the game from the CLS KNIGHTS BBM team in the Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL) 2020 based on match statistics using descriptive quantitative methods using secondary data obtained from the official Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL) 2020 website. The results of this study indicate that the CLS KNIGHTS BBM team has different statistical component results in each match. From the results of the calculation of the effectiveness of the game, BBM CLS KNIGHTS has the best record and plays the most effective against BRUNEI PEGASUS (BRN).
